Update: I wish I could say better, but even the sudden "change of heart" attitude I got from the [manager?] woman that usually tends the administrative end upon trying to vacate still left me feeling like this ended sourly. I had called a month ago to notify my card for auto-debit has been updated, and also to give ample notice of the date I'd be vacating. No prob. Until I get a voicemail saying my payment was declined and I was now charged a $15 late fee. I called to clear the issue- I was met with quite a hostile response. After keeping calm & trying to reason, I got the fee waived. And I appreciate it, even though I do think my new card information was not properly updated. All is well? Upon trying to vacate, my access code was repeatedly denied. She finally opens the gate for me when she sees the moving truck. All is well. Until I can't get out. Magically, the gate opens as I get out & start to walk inside. I don't think any of it was an "accident" or "faulty keypad". To top it off- the movers happened to get a snapshot of the WATER DAMAGE inside my unit. Which, we also noted, compromised my belongings I had stored in there. You could say I am a bit less than pleased with how this ended. No one should be treated rudely for vacating a unit. And, the fact water damage occurred isn't leaving me feeling very confident in recommending or ever opting to re-rent in the future. read more

I am writing this since all the reviews on this app is almost 5-10 years old. So here is my experience with Storquest within the past almost year. I would run as far away from them as possible. If you live paycheck to paycheck, they will not work with you. They do not take any type of partial payments. I had to complain about them not taking partial payments and they made an special exception for me since I complained so hard at them since I had other bills to pay and trying to do what's best for me financially. And I could pay them at certain times sometimes due to other financial responsibilities that I have. Then I make a partial payment, they locked down my unit just cause I didn't pay the full amount. I have tried to ask them if they can open it up, and they tell me that they can't cause the payment has to be made in full. Which is absolutely ridiculous, I am still making payments to have access and then the store manager Amber is very rude as well. While I was trying to work something out with her, she told me I was yelling at her and need to stop or she will hang up. But I was never yelling, I am a loud talker and it sounds like I am yelling on the phone. That is just me. I told Amber that she was rude and had no right to say I was yelling at her. I am talking how I normally talk at my normal volume. She then refuses to give me her supervisor's information because the supervisor will tell me the same thing that Amber told me. And honestly this place is just absolutely ridiculous and disgusting that they have this woman as a property manager. Remind you, I'm only behind by a half of a payment because I had lost my job. So I am not that far behind and this place refuses to work with me in any type of way. read more

Oh, where do I begin? I've never in my life had so many issues in such a short tenancy (3 months). I rented here because of location and price. Well, regarding the latter, sometimes you get what you pay for. The units are old and dingy. There was tree debris on the roof, which was never cleaned up, and which the birds loved. That made a lovely racket inside the unit, which sounded like rats in the walls until I realized it was the birds. There was always debris left on the ground, too, after a storm, which would take them days to clean up. I actually used my own broom once because it was such a mess. There was an old wire hanging down from a defunct security system. I asked the manager about it, and she told me in not so many words that basically when StorQuest took over, that they were too cheap and lazy to update the system. She said she would cut it away for me, but never did. It was still there the day I moved out. The property was painted during my tenancy. Which overall should be considered a positive thing, because it shows that corporate does care at least somewhat about maintenance. However. The day before the doors in each row were painted, they were power-washed. Old units. Not well-sealed. Can you guess what happened? Yep, stuff got wet. Standing water on the floor the first couple of feet inside the door. At this point I didn't have much left in the unit because I was just a couple days away from move-out, so nothing of significance got wet. And now for said manager. Other reviews mention how great Kris is/was to work with. Well, they must have been paid to say nice things about her, because that was not my experience. She was surprisingly decent the day I ended my tenancy, but prior to that had been a ditz, and rude, and was overall one of the reasons I moved out. One day a week or so before I moved out, I had a question, and Joy was in the office that day. She was friendly and pleasant, and SHE should be the manager, not Kris. Fortunately, I only needed a unit here on a very temporary basis, because this place barely served its purpose. I would not rent here again. read more

This facility was previously named "Watchful Eye Self-Storage" (when I began renting here), and although the ownership has switched over to "Storquest Self Storage", the management has, thankfully, not changed. Not only are Kris & Jim extremely personable, but they are well versed with what it takes to run a secure site. Further, they continually attend meetings/seminars with regard to storage site security and best practices. As a somewhat picky customer, I had questions as to why there were application steps that seemed beyond what I had run into at previous storage facilities, but once explained to me, I was totally on board. Basically, if you're a dirt-bag, don't even bother applying. Jim & Kris do an excellent job of filtering the clientele to limit rentals only to upstanding citizens. This is extremely reassuring. Especially if you don't check your storage site very often. I've only very recently ended my storage rental (no longer needed the extra space), but even the check-out process was as smooth as can be. If I find myself needing storage again in the future, I will definitely be looking for Jim & Kris! In my over 10 years at this facility, I never had any issues, and with the units being climate controlled, I never had to worry about my trinkets and heirlooms baking in the AZ heat. Kris was extremely accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure she showed she values my business. Especially as the on-site owner she knows the storage business and I feel safe with my personal belongings at Stor-Quest Apache Junction. I got a couple bottles of water, after hours service, a golf cart and a couple flashlights because we were unloading my truck at 10pm. She also gave me a lot of tips about security and how they are the only location that runs a security protocol that is rarely done which really eases my mind. There's no sacrificing security at any cost especially to trade convenience. read more

Have been renting from StorQuest for eight years without any problems with management or the unit. Won't be moving out anytime soon.

We chose to purchase the INDOOR CLIMATE CONTROLLED storage units. To our dismay, we visited our units during the summer months only to discover how incredibly hot the building was. The "swamp cooler" can sense when we are there and then just blows "hot moist" air on us. I can only imagine what it is like in there when the cooler isn't working. We've paid for climate controlled storage in Las Vegas and there is a big difference between swamp cooler air and actual air conditioning. I fear all of my belongings are ruined as several of my boxes have collapsed inside due to moisture and lack of climate control. The buildings are old and their systems need to be upgraded to provide a better climate control. And, we just had a rate increase for who knows what reason... read more

The owners changed while I was out of the country and I had no way to pay online. I had to send my dad in to handle things. The hours are inconvenient for AZ temperatures, a sign should be posted on the gate, and the clock is not accurate. I did end up stuck in the storage facility for being one minute after gate closing time. It took forty-five minutes to contact someone to get a special gate code. The climate-controlled units have a busted AC and many bugs like to take up new homes among my stuff, including several scorpions. Overall, it's about what you'd expect from a storage facility. I'd prefer more convenient hours and a smoother online transition. read more

Well it was 50/50 First The coupon on yelp did not work with them, they said that only applies when they have enough storage available...Was still given a discount which I was grateful, an hour later a lady called to tell me I should have not received the discount and I would need to be there by 5pm I agreed. I gave my notice online and verified in the office. On the last day I moved out 5 days before the date, the manager came by while me and a young lady next to me were moving pkgs out.... He stared from his cart & finally came over to my uncle and I and asked us if this was are unit and if we gave notice and he seemed a bit perturbed... I advised him that this was my unit and that I did give notice and verified with his wife. He proceeded to mention the problem with thefts in the storage and how security codes were not being followed. He then proceeded to go next door and question the young lady in a rude manner did not seem professional at all... I was tired and did not make a big deal about how rude he was. If you are manager check your information first, we are still customers and the fact that you are older does not give you a right to be rude... I still went back to the office after sweeping up the storage asked them to take a look and they stated it was not necessary, I thank them and went on my way.....I do not think I would use them again if I needed too. read more

I dealt with Kris at StorQuest and she was very knowledgeable and friendly upon my initial contact. I stored a 5th wheel there for 2 months and it was secure and I had no worries about theft or vandalism due to the on-site manager and the security they had on the premises. Every interaction I had with the staff was positive for me so with that, congrats to you all for a fine, secure storage facility and if the need arises again, I will come calling.
