my beautiful white cat was losing his hair in spots…read more. on my first visit (9/13/23) to Greater South River Animal Hospital Dr. Longo checked him out and gave him Bravecto for fleas even though he did not have fleas and was not scratching and some other medications..$306.10 next visit (10/7/23)..my cat was losing more hair..another exam with a different vet..Dr. Gately-Dean..prescribed a mild cat food because she felt my cat had an allergy to her cat food even though it was the same food he was always eating..$167.52 next visit (10/18/23)..a "medical progress" exam because my cat was getting worse..had lost about 1/3 of his hair and losing weight..$109.10 next visit (10/27/23)..a "senior wellness package feline"..$215.42 total spent $798.14 I was scheduled for a 5th visit but by then my poor cat had lost more hair and was not eating so I went to a vet I had used years ago..he took a skin scraping and found the problem to be a form of mange that does not make a cat itch...but it was too late..my cat died about 3 days later. Had this been done earlier my cat would have been healed and healthy. I feel that the 2 vets at the Greater South River Animal Hospital were too lax..it was 45 days from my first visit to my last and my cat was suffering the whole time..I miss him dearly..

I could have an appointment for one of my cats, and the Dr. will always check in with me on my sister's new puppy, or my nephews German Shepherd! The same goes for when my family visits, she will always ask about my cats. I am a Sphynx breeder, and sadly these cats are prone to many serious health conditions and complications. As a breeder, finding not only hands on, but pro-active care is very important. I have found this here at Choptank. I live over an hour away and will make that trip across the Bay Bridge for their care. I have also recommended her to other Sphynx's owners. They are also very good at handling skittish pets. My nephew has a German Shepherd that had an "alternate ID" and viewed vets as the ultimate enemy. It made it hard to get him care, as he is a huge German Shepherd. The Dr came in clutch with a "fear not" attitude and met my nephew in the parking lot, overlooked our dogs scare tactics and the two walked into the front door together. If I have ever had an emergency, and their schedule permits, I have been able to be seen, or diverted to proper care elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and professional and I recommend them to anyone not only on the Eastern Shore, but also within the DC Metro area.

I also gave her a microchip from an accredited organization to have inserted by her vet (most vets do this for 10.00). I also send a dewormer home with all of my pups just in case the dog picked up a parasite during transport. This office lied to her about the microchip organization, said they wouldn't recognize any of her vaccines, and told her my dewormer was no good (it's the exact same dewormer they use). They charged her almost 600! They completely took advantage of her! oh, and they told her the dog was much older than she is! WHY?! Why do this to people? Especially to loyal customers? It's disgusting and I hope people know they have better options than a money grubbing vet.

Marley, started sneezing quite often and I noticed she was shedding white flakes constantly mostly coming off of her back. I called local veterinary clinics and my jaw dropped literally dropped when I heard the office visit is ONLY $59!!! I think all I responded with after hearing that was sign us up LOL! The office staff is wonderful, polite, and sincere! They worked around my schedule but were still able to get my baby girl Marley in the same week I called! The office was clean, and the staff were all exceptionally kind, informative, and patient. My cats are my literal children- my son calls them his two sisters so they're precious to us and so I get uber anxious whenever I'm unable to help them and I know they're uncomfortable. We only had to wait a few minutes after check in, and after the first visit initial paperwork. I was a visible nervous wreck! The technician came in and discussed Marley's symptoms with me, all while remaining professional and kind. Not even ten minutes after the tech had left, the Veterinarian came in all smiles, and began our conversation with what was going on with Marley, potential causes, etc. The Veterinarian listened to all of my questions carefully with a smile on her face, and was eager to reassure me on ease of Marley's care, causes, even things I can do from home to help my girl! She knew her stuff, too! I cannot say enough good things about Muddy Creek Veterinary Clinic in Butler, Pa (on William Flynn HWY)! I also can say with confidence even though one may shop around getting potential quotes on care and medication? There was not ONE other clinic that could even come close to the reasonable prices for my Marley's care at Muddy Creek! I'll never go anywhere else! I urge you to give this clinic a try! We've used this vet from time to time just because it's the closest to us. While there are some…read morefriendly people in the office, more often than not we are met with judgement and ridicule. Because or dog has sensitivities to ingredients in commercial foods and a propensity for liver issues (breed trait) we raw feed a diet of duck and rabbit. One moment they will tell us he's the healthiest dog they've seen and the next after hearing of his diet excoriate us and tell us we're going to kill him and should put him on kibble. They also double vaccinated him for rabies on accident, it is what it is. But when we ask for antibody test (which is required for international travel) we get nothing but judgement and sh*t talked behind our back....where we can hear it! The tldr is they are more focused on selling you prescriptions and prescription foods than the actual health of your pet. At the end of the day it's a business and that's cool, but shady practices and attitude ruin this place.

Earlier this year we adopted three kittens and decided to try 4 Legs since they are local to Davidsonville. So many amazing things to say. 1 it's a small practice with a family atmosphere. From the front desk staff to the technicians to Dr Kiely. They all care and provide great customer service. 2. It's really easy to get an appointment. No waiting for weeks to be seen - this team makes room for you. 3. They don't push you into services you don't need. I never felt pressured to do lab work or unnecessary services. 4. Their prices were way more competitive than our last vet - they even accepted a new client discount coupon we received in the mail! 5. They have sent me electronic reminders to set up my cats follow on appointments. Overall I'm thrilled that we found them and that we are able to support a local small owned business near our home! I was taken aback to see how filthy the outside had become... broken plastic chain link bits on the ground, signs down or hanging by a thread ,,, and this was unchanged despite multiple visits.... Despite meds and two exams my dogs problem was in resolved and the 500.00 plus bill. I am taking my three dogs to another practice, friends have also left this practice !!! Interesting that this place never bothered to call to ask why.
