They truly care about not only your pet, but you as the owner and your worries, wants, needs, etc. Dr. Porteous is VERY sweet and thoughtful, my dog was fixed and she called to check on her before they closed for the day and it being my first dog, (actually child because that is how much I adore her) I was nervous and to me it seemed as if she was not feeling well and was in pain. Dr. Porteous and a staff member stayed over an hour after they had closed to wait for me to get there so she could check my dog and make sure everything was okay (which of course it was) and even gave her a little extra pain medication to make her comfortable. None of this was of any charge to me because Dr. Porteous didn't care about making money off of my anxiety, but she truly cared about MY dog. They're very quick to squeeze you in as an appointment if need be and the visits never require a long wait in the lobby/exam room. I have moved and have a vet within walking distance, but never has it crossed my mind to take my dogs elsewhere because I truly do not trust anyone besides everyone at Four Legs. No waiting for weeks to be seen - this team makes room for you. 3. They don't push you into services you don't need. I never felt pressured to do lab work or unnecessary services. 4. Because or dog has sensitivities to ingredients in commercial foods and a propensity for liver issues (breed trait) we raw feed a diet of duck and rabbit. One moment they will tell us he's the healthiest dog they've seen and the next after hearing of his diet excoriate us and tell us we're going to kill him and should put him on kibble. They also double vaccinated him for rabies on accident, it is what it is. But when we ask for antibody test (which is required for international travel) we get nothing but judgement and sh*t talked behind our back....where we can hear it! The tldr is they are more focused on selling you prescriptions and prescription foods than the actual health of your pet. At the end of the day it's a business and that's cool, but shady practices and attitude ruin this place.

The office staff is wonderful, polite, and sincere! They worked around my schedule but were still able to get my baby girl Marley in the same week I called! My cats are my literal children- my son calls them his two sisters so they're precious to us and so I get uber anxious whenever I'm unable to help them and I know they're uncomfortable. We only had to wait a few minutes after check in, and after the first visit initial paperwork. I was a visible nervous wreck! The technician came in and discussed Marley's symptoms with me, all while remaining professional and kind. Not even ten minutes after the tech had left, the Veterinarian came in all smiles, and began our conversation with what was going on with Marley, potential causes, etc. The Veterinarian listened to all of my questions carefully with a smile on her face, and was eager to reassure me on ease of Marley's care, causes, even things I can do from home to help my girl! She knew her stuff, too! I cannot say enough good things about Muddy Creek Veterinary Clinic in Butler, Pa (on William Flynn HWY)! I also can say with confidence even though one may shop around getting potential quotes on care and medication? There was not ONE other clinic that could even come close to the reasonable prices for my Marley's care at Muddy Creek! I'll never go anywhere else! I urge you to give this clinic a try! Bel Air Animal Hospital likely killed my dog…read more Owen was brought in because he was coughing, struggling to breathe, vomiting, lethargic, and rapidly deteriorating from an apparent allergic reaction to meds given by this vet. Per their notes, they administered something for nausea, then sent him home. Six hours later, the emergency hospital ;(a different facility) diagnosed him with pneumonia. Less than 24 hours after leaving Bel Air Animal Hospital, he was dead. I can't help but question how such a serious condition was missed. Owen's care fell far below the standard I expected, and I will always wonder whether recognizing his pneumonia sooner could have saved his life. If your pet is clearly getting worse and your instincts tell you something is wrong, don't hesitate to get a second opinion. I only wish we had. I love you Owen, rest easy my boy.

As a result, because Dr Murphy practiced at Belair Veterinary Hospital, I began bringing Bear to Belair. For the first year, service was great because Dr Murphy was our vet. Then, sadly, he left and with it, good service. Since then, it has been a series of miscommunications, poor care, poor management and in the end, a veterinary hospital chain more concerned with its bottom line than good veterinary care. This is the kind of unprofessional lack of accountability typical of this business at this point. I was not abusive with anyone on their staff. I also send a dewormer home with all of my pups just in case the dog picked up a parasite during transport. This office lied to her about the microchip organization, said they wouldn't recognize any of her vaccines, and told her my dewormer was no good (it's the exact same dewormer they use). They charged her almost 600! They completely took advantage of her! oh, and they told her the dog was much older than she is! WHY?! Why do this to people? Especially to loyal customers? It's disgusting and I hope people know they have better options than a money grubbing vet.

We had never used that veterinary service before, but we were so fortunate to have lucked out that they were available....we could not have hoped for more compassionate veterinarians to have come to do the dreaded deed. They were SO wonderful! Two months later, we received a thank you note from the Wildfowl Trust of North America, thanking us for a donation in Sheba's name to their organization. The donation was made by Dr. Golden's practice. What a wonderful way for our precious baby to be remembered.
