I was in desperate need of someone to do some repairs to my vehicle in order for it to pass inspection, so I did a google search and Stouch's was one of the first to come up. Within a couple hours of my call, they had given me a rough estimate on cost for parts and labor (which was extremely fair and accurate) and were able to schedule me for THE NEXT DAY -- that was awesome! Disclaimer: I am not related of affiliated with anyone that works at this shop, nor do I write many reviews. My car developed a raw gas leak. Let's face it, nobody likes to take their car to the garage. Unfortunately most garages bear the stigma of ripoff because of a few bad apples and I finally found what appears to be a good, honest and trustworthy establishment. The service and results I received from this garage were stellar. They were reasonably priced, didn't charge for parts I didn't need and were very courteous with frequent updates. I knew about the loaners beforehand from previous reviews, but when I was dropped off to pickup my car, they told me they would have come and picked me up. Long story short, spending a few hundred dollars is never pleasant but we all need our cars and this garage made it as painless as it could possibly be to get mine fixed. Thanks Stouch. read more

Bait & Switch Tactics... We had a coolant leakage in our SUV. After visiting another local garage for a diagnosis/estimate, Stouch's Auto Repair was highly recommended to me by two co-workers for a second opinion. Both are now embarrassed after seeing my experience and are taking their business elsewhere. My wife set up an appointment to diagnose a coolant leakage around our water pump. She was quoted $35 - $65. I dropped the car off and carpooled with my coworkers. When dropping off the keys, I wrote on the envelope what I deemed to be symptoms of the same problem. (Engine occasionally overheating, check engine light on, temperature gage cuts in and out.) Later in the day, when Stouch's called my wife, they said it was the Water Pump - which we had already known...but they offered no specifics (bad gasket, bad unit, bad installation, etc.) And they also took the liberty to top off our oil at our expense. And SURPRISE! - They were now charging us over $130 for the diagnostics. That's a wildly steep price increase with NO courtesy call before they went beyond the original estimate given. Then adding insult to injury, Stouch's estimate for replacing the water pump was over $300 MORE than what the other local garage had quoted. And that first garage didn't charge us for their diagnosis. This experience cost me $100 more than the original estimate, with no meaningful work done. But now it cost Stouch's two of their previous customers, and hopefully many more potential customers who read this before falling victim to the same tactics. read more

I found Stouch's shop online when I searched for 'auto repair with loaner', and that's precisely what I got. Even as a new customer with them, they lent me a car for the time they were fixing mine, which was necessary for me as someone who is self employed and works all over Central PA, virtually 7 days a week. Aside from a nice and clean car ('98 Buick Century old man car), they provided a very quick assessment and actually charged me $20 less than their estimate, when all was said and done. The staff there are friendly, knowledgeable and will explain anything you may have a question about. Highly recommended for repairs and their appreciation of the customer. read more

Everyone went above and beyond for me to make sure not just my car was taken care of but I was as well. They communicated with me throughout the maintenance of my vehicle to provide updates and options so I was in control of the process. I was provided a loaner vehicle and the staff wen't out of their way to pick up parts that my car needed rather then way for them to be delivered days later. They worked with my finances and even stayed after hours for me. I CANT say enough good things about this auto shop and their staff. Don't go anywhere else. read more

Honestly, these guys are amazing. Phil and Jeff are the best! I'm on my second experience with them as of this week, and it isn't over yet, but they have been so amazing with everything! The first experience I had with them, they were able to get me a loaner car and repair my car the same day. This second time around has been a bit trickier. My car stopped starting and we called Stouch's and the dealer, both who couldn't get us in for a few days. We then took it to Firestone the same day, who told us we needed a new engine at $4,500. We called Stouch's and Phil told us to bring it in and they would look at it. He also gave us a quote for the engine and was very honest about everything. He even said that they wouldn't be able to beat Firestone's price. We are currently unsure that it's the engine, as a few other mechanics have said that we need to get a second opinion and that they do not think it's the engine at all. We're currently scheduled for Stouch's to look at our car on Wednesday! read more

Excellent service! Not only do they remember you, they also keep a detailed log of repairs, funny noises and notes for future reference. They will make sure to repair the most important problems and will educate you on what may need to be done in the future, but don't worry about the creepy sales pitch here. Let me preface this by saying: I have never been to this shop for any routine maintenance or repair, and the staff seemed to be knowledgeable, articulate, and efficient. However. Absolutely do NOT go here with any kind of check engine or undiagnosed issue. They charged me nearly $230 in "diagnostic labor" with an additional $180 dollars for the labor itself. There was also an insane markup on the part price, over $120 for two spark plugs. All together I'm out $530 for simply replacing two of my spark plugs. To be fair, I do drive a subaru and I understand the plugs are harder to reach than most manufacturers. But still. I feel like I was taken advantage of and overpaid by at least $150, probably more like $230. Never ever go here unless you are absolutely sure what needs replaced or dont mind paying nearly double for good service. That being said, they had me in within 2 days and my car was fixed next day. read more
