If you're going to have a complete monopoly on the grocery store business in DeMotte, if would be nice if you could... A. Be more price competitive w/ similar grocery stores in surrounding towns. B. Offer additional services like local grocery delivery (with or without a fee). I see others have beaten me to the reviews. Yes, the items are pricey. . And yes, while we had hopes for a great store to replace the snoozing old owner, what we got was a monopolist that is constantly eliminating name brand items for those with manufacturers whose names sound like they were made up by a six year old in her play kitchen. Their generic brands are not pleasing to us. . But, as we say, so much for the good news! Now the bad. Their meat. Their meat. Oh, their meat. That's one thing we definitely will not buy. Including their rotisserie chicken, fresh fried chicken and such. . Where do we get our meats locally? Yesteryears butcher shop, great 5 star meats at admittedly high prices, and Sav-a-Lot for 4.5 star meats (yes, unbelievable a convenience store offers good meats at about half the price of full size grocery stores) in stores just east towards Wheatfield or west towards Roselawn. . I'd like to take this opportunity to say something good about Stracks limited produce selection. But I wouldn't feel right telling you something like that. . (We find excellent fresh produce at the Sav-a-Lot stores! . Stracks also offers Instacart participation. We used it. We then called Instacart and canceled our membership for allowing this store to be representative of Instacarts service. 45 minutes to pick up an Instacart order. Really? Yes. Definitely do not use Instacart if you think you need a quick pickup which of course is the point of it. . Jewel in Lowell offers delivery service to Demotte. . Use Jewel and you won't have to negotiate the Stracks parking lot. . Your car will thank you. Now despite all this, it is the only large store in the immediate area. Both the aforementioned convenience stores and the dollar stores are our first choice to run to but we admit we must shop at Stracks at times. But luckily most needs are met by local small alternatives and large more distant chains that deliver. read more

I go to Tysens on a regular basis. The deli area is great. Bakery cakes and pies are delicious. Employees are very friendly and helpful. The points they give for gas are great I got 52 cents off per gallon of gas last fill and 42 cents off last fill. So paying more for some items works out at end of month. It is handy, I live in Hebron. read more

I arrived at checkout. Clerk Karsen completely ignored me. Was not even sure for a bit that she was the one that was supposed to ring me out, since she and woman at desk were more interested in another employee's break whereabouts. She continued to carry on a conversation with other woman as she processed my sale. I came home and found I was charged double for an item. read more

It's not my usual choice to shop since the prices are extremely high. I only pick up one or two things here if I happen to need it, since it's so close. They have a decent selection and pretty handy international aisle. But if I can help it, I go elsewhere, or atleast to the save a lot a couple miles away... read more

Many items are pricey, but they sometimes have some great deals. Their dollar section is awesome! I like that the baggers help you to your car when you have a large amount of groceries. I have never experienced that anywhere else! read more

Too pricey!!!! I hardly ever shop here unless it's for 1 or 2 things. I go to save a lot just a few miles away. It's worth the drive.
