Housemade Bread $8.00 Brassica Caesar Salad $20.00…read moreCaramelized Onion Tortellini $29.00 We devoured the focaccia bread. Bread was super fresh and steaming hot. Salad was enough for 4 - 6 people. Me and my partner had plenty of leftovers. So many ingredients almost too many to list. The ingredients that stood out were the Asparagus, mushrooms, and broccolini. Ingredients were hot and delicious. We split the Carmelized Onion Tortellini. It was magical. Great buttery taste and the Carmelized Onions oozed out of the tortellini when I cut into it with the fork. We were stuffed when we left and had enough leftovers to eat for dinner the next day. Cannot wait to go back....

What a gem this place is! Albano's doesn't have a sign. The…read moreexisting sign says panini panini. We've tried to get a reservation a couple times, but didn't do it in advance. We came at lunch time & got right in. Ordered the focaccia bread. It came with olive oil & marina sauce. So amazing. Also shared the kale Ceasar salad. It was huge! Enough for 4-6. It had a lot of ingredients. Roasted asparagus, broccolini, shaved Brussels sprouts, mushrooms. It was delicious, but I would have preferred a lighter summer salad. It was hearty & warm. I'd get it again in the fall. We shared the caramelized onion tortellini. It was huge too. Amazing prices for the amount of food. It was so delicious. The onions were sweet & the pasta was perfect & fresh. Lots of leftovers to take home. Cute ambiance, friendly service. Loved that we could watch the chefs prepare the food too. Can't wait to come back for more pasta & try dessert.

This is your average run-of-the-mill grocery store, with one caveat, they have a few magnificent…read moresales. I'd say at least once a month they have a deal so remarkable that I scamper over here to load up on that item. Last week they had Old Orchard apple juice, fairly big jug for 98¢. I came in just for that. Bought a dozen. I get a little sheepish like I'm taking advantage, but the clerks are glad to see you and glad you're getting a great deal. No need to worry if you aren't picking up your whole week's worth of groceries, they couldn't be nicer. They also always have a nice selection of seasonal items wether that's pumpkins and mums in the fall or Christmas wreaths and poinsettias after Thanksgiving. Especially if you have errands in Calumet Ave, be sure to stop by!

ARE YOU FRICKING KIDDING ME?? "Generic "frozen corn on the cob....6 pieces is $8.29. Yes, $8.29. CAN YOU SAY TOTAL RIPOFF? Folks, they have raised the prices there and at Strack's to unbelieveable highs. Who pays $8.00 for 6 "half" pieces of "frozen" corn on the cob??? You BETTER watch out. They pout these stickers on products, trying to "CON" you into thinking you're getting a good price, compared to their "regular" price. BULL. They have been slowly raising prices on hundred, maybe thousands of items at BOTH stores, hoping we won't notice. NOTHING will change until we all stop shopping there. If you don't care about "peeing" your money away, keep shoppping there. We're done with BOTH stores. Aldi and Meijers here we come. It sickens me to see them SCREWING us and all the while, they're laughing all the way to the bank.

Ran into this guy at the Newark Farmers Market today. He had a whole arrangement of hummuses. The…read moreartichoke hummus is tasty, we also tried the avocado & jalapeno flavored hummus and it was good too, not at all spicy. He had some really odd flavor combinations, which is good cause the typical garlic flavored one even gets old (by the way he did have just plain old garlic) He also has containers of baklava (which was tempting) Pitas were also sold at his stand, he had regular white, a wheat mixture and whole wheat flour pita breads. Everything sold for $5 each (Hummus and pitas) As I am writing this review I am enjoying some whole wheat pita & the artichoke hummus - yummy! So if you visit the Newark farmers market, be sure to check this guy out!

This "Guy"'s hummus is simply divine…read more He has a booth at the Campbell (CA) farmers market EVERY sunday, and I go just for his products. He offers hummus in so many flavors I don't know how many there are. I always get the roasted garlic, and he just recommended artichoke today which is very good too. While you're there, don't you dare forget to pick up a bag of his VERY crunchy pita chips. I believe they come in two flavors but maybe more. Lemon herb and Garlic. I get a bag of each, because they are truly to die for. As for the Hummus guy himself...Hot, and hilarious. :) His prices aren't a deal, but they are very fair. I paid exactly $15 today for two (I think they're probably 1lb each) bags of pita chips and two tubs of hummus. If you like hummus, you'll love his. If you don't like hummus, you'll like his.
