New and REALLY improved!
Tom V.

If you're going to re-make something, then you should probably take the time to do it well, and do it right. That is even more necessary when it is a government-funded project. Spend those public funds right! Johnson County has lots of green space and lots of modernized playground equipment. There are many pockets that need attention, and Strang Park was one of those places. For the longest time, Strang Park was just a small open space with a walking path, a basketball court, and scattered play equipment. Now, it is a multi-sensory, multifunction, full family-use facility. playground equipment that is safe and fun, with amenities such as inground trampolines included in the build, providing fun for children of all ages. For those that want to have the opportunity to relax while you watch the littles, check out the lineup of Adirondack chairs just under a large shady tree, waiting for you to get those photo ops as the moments of your kids' lives occur. The design of the park incorporates the legacy of the Strang Line rail route, with pieces of rail built into the shelter and portions of the original line still bordering the north end of the park. The shelter is large and modern, and the tennis/pickleball courts offer just the right amount of opportunity for outdoor enjoyment. There is still a path that encircles the park, and the full loop measures just around a half-mile. Like I said, Johnson County had the opportunity to do it right and they got it done! This is now one of the nicer parks in the Lenexa area, if not the entirety of Johnson County. Well done JoCo, well done.

Great new all inclusive playground tucked away in a neighborhood area. Liked that there was a large parking lot, bathrooms and a fence around the playground area for safety. On a weekend day it was very busy, but overall enough equipment for all the kids to play on. My kiddos loved the in-ground trampolines, slides, swings and rope climb through the best. It's nice that there's plenty of seating for adults who are watching little ones and tables if you bring a snack.

Great for all ages. Kids love the mini trampolines. Nice picnic area too and misters if it's really hot!

I stumbled upon this park when I was pregnant with my daughter in hopes of finding a safe park that…read moreI'd be comfortable bringing her to and Roe Park is just that plus more! My daughter has been here since she was 1 month old. After taking her first steps, she walked the trail of roe park. So it's safe to say that this park not only gives you a fun time but there are great memories built here too. They have a play area for the littles and for the bigger kids, a walking trail for walking and bicycling, tennis courts, baseball field, open yard space for both soccer and football, benches and shelter area, and when it's hot out...a water park! I highly recommend this park to parents and guardians, I guarantee your kid will walk away happy after visiting.

These are the kinds of parks that make my heart warm. As for activities, there's a couple playgrounds, tennis courts, baseketball court, soccer fields, a walking trail with a small creek surrounding it, and plenty of space for kids (and adults) to run amuck and enjoy the outdoors. Other things offered are covered seating areas, picnic tables, and restrooms that surprisingly are clean! Speaking of clean, the people here make sure to do their part and keep things tidy. This involves the basic human acts of courtesy such as picking up and throwing away their trash and picking up the crap left from their pets. It was quite busy when I arrived as there was a kids birthday party, several people walking the trail, and a few couples having a nice picnic. On a Saturday when the sun is out and there's a nice cool breeze, I'd expect nothing less!
