Chicken wings were flavorfully done well and cooked right but I could only choose one flavor because it would be too much for them to do more than one flavor. Would be good to add that to the menu. At 1.50 per wing for 10 wings, two flavors to try would've been nice. There was only one server/bartender for the entire place. The upstairs was open but no one was using it. Free pool and mini arcade machines and maybe a dartboard I didn't see sounded fun. You have to go behind a curtain and upstairs. I went with a friend and it happened to be karaoke afternoon. I sung alright and my friend, who used to sing professionally, thought I would do horrible but I held my own and improvised. A couple of females liked my singing- I'll take it. Strangelove definitely is lgbt friendly. I sense there are some regulars here . Some women wanted to take my seat when I was up to sing and my friend could've moved over one but he wanted my specific seat saved. The women he told me about apparently didn't ask and one tried to demand and another just laughed it off (in what sounded like a how dare you be so pedestrian without saying it) and didn't want to argue. My wings were packed well as there were some napkins put at the bottom of my ToGo bag since there was leaking sauce and it saved the bag from getting soaked over. The food is delicious. Portion sizes are great. I love that they have over 30 wing flavors. The service is always pleasant when it comes to customer service. Sorry I don't know your name, but the Black guy with the glasses is really kind. In terms of speed, I did feel like my order was forgotten about but that's usually when I'm there for an event. Cool vibe and good food. The place is small and seat yourself and then order at the bar. Not sure if this is always the case or just on slow times. It's a pretty extensive menu to order at at the bar all the time. On Tuesday they have an all day Taco deal for 2 tacos for $10 and Marg for $5. They also have a pretty decent Happy Hour on bogo well drinks. You can get 2 singles or 1 double. The well liquor is bottom bottom shelf but it's two for $7 so can't complain at all. I went here for an event. They have a very comfortable room for events upstairs (walk all the way to the back of the restaurant and head up). There's a nice full bar upstairs, along with comfortable couches and chairs. The location is very convenient if you're hanging out in the city shopping, or if you are looking for a very friendly bar with good bar food. The decor is very warm, and comfortable. I was fortunate to have a conversation with the owner. Very humble gentleman who is very focused on providing a comfortable establishment with great service. There's plenty of televisions around the bar (downstairs and upstairs). Parking: There a secure garage directly across the street and metered parking nearby also. Cool bar/restaurant. Walked in on a Saturday night before a show at City Winery, gave ourselves an hour and a half to eat-the kitchen was so quick we didn't need that much time. Only downside is they don't have a typical server type set up, so you have to order at the bar. Place had an upstairs, as well, not sure if it is for catered events or for when they get busy. Kind of disappointed in my recent experience at Strangelove's. Went in for lunch and ordered their honey/jerk wings. The wings were very small and very overcooked and were just... dry. I do like the ambiance there and enjoy that they have a small free arcade in back (although some of the machines were not working). I think there is a lot to work with here, but all the potential has yet to be realized. read more

You had to place your order at the bar and then sit and wait. It took well over an hour for our whole table to receive all our food when we all ordered at once. This is def your neighborhood bar. I enjoy the expansive menu with vegan and veggie options. They have an amazing draft beer selection. The service is chill but attentive. Faster than you think and they open early so best time to hit them up because I can tell they get packed. They do have event nights. I hope they create a gift card option. We've been there a few times just for drinks. We stopped by because I wanted to have one of their June specials. I LOVE cosmos, unironically, so I needed it. I don't think it's still on the menu, but if it is, skip it. It was really not good, tasted like over sweet juice concentrate with no lime bite. Full disclosure: I'm not a big drinker. I stopped into Strangelove's to meet up with friends and ordered a cranberry juice with truffle fries. The staff was sweet and outgoing, promptly taking my order and closing out my tab right when I asked. The ambience was laid back but classy; not a dive bar or overly bougie. I discovered that on the second floor there were additional restrooms and a second bar/dining room. The truffle fries were pretty good; covered in Parmesan with what tasted like a truffle aioli. I didn't know what to expect, maybe something like poutine. This was not that; just fries and dipping sauce. A man at the bar shared some roasted Brussels Sprouts drizzled in balsamic and those were very yummy. I talk to everyone and another gentleman told me he was enjoying his wings. Went here for drinks, honestly don't recall if I even got food...part of that might be that it's been a while since I went, but part of that also may have been because I spent the better part of 1.5 hours just sitting there, either waiting for a menu, waiting for my order to arrive, waiting for someone to clear the table, and waiting for them to bring a check over. Even after getting up and getting the bartenders' attention, they still proceeded to leave us ignored for significantly longer than necessary. Sure, it started to get crowded when we were trying to leave, but if a place is that understaffed, then it's clearly not an issue exclusive to us. Other diners who left before us also seemed to have to get up and hail a bartender over like they would a cab. The place is a nice, dimly lit bar with lots of wooden accents all across the floor, walls, tables and ceiling, and it definitely had that old bar sensation to it, walking in. We ordered separately at the bar then they brought the food out--the bartender had some of us pay once we ordered but others he said we could pay at the end so we were a bit confused. Our waiter was a kind young man, but when we had an issue who I'm assuming the manager is came over and basically scolded us. This is one of my favorite bars to play quizzo! 8 pm on Monday nights and the host picks really great questions that you can almost figure out / use context clues like jeopardy if you don't immediately know.
