Wow! This has got to be the nicest tattoo shop I've ever stepped foot in! It was comforting to immediately get a whiff of green soap and windex which tells me everything is sterile and clean ! If you're looking for a blast of color art Jay'e is the person to do it! She is extremely artistic and talented. First let me say that I drove 40 minutes to go there to get my tattoos each way from Palm Desert. Ken Lightcap, one of the artists has done 95% of my tattoos. A total of 7 so I liked his work. Everyone is very friendly at that shop and the girls were very nice as you get to know them with time but things turned to be a very bad experience with my last Tattoo done by Ken Lightcap. As alway Ken has always quoted me a price on all of my tattoos before getting my tattoos and Medusa was no exemption. He quoted me $600. On the second day after he got tired he change his price to $2000. I already had paid him $1200 but I can't believe he did this when he was almost done. He then turned very nasty and did a facebook post saying very negative things and lies about me. I gifted him jewelry, skulls, gifts for his daughter etc. I am disappointed and hurt that he turned on me for not agreeing on how much he raised the price. I would not RECOMMEND him as he does not stay true to his original quote on price. However, I would recommend the shop. read more

Went to Strata Tattoo to see Ken Lightcapp after he worked on my sleeve design during the shutdown. Location was super clean. Followed covid guidelines to a T. I was the only client for most of my stay. Ken was extremely knowledgeable. Explained the process step by step. Took extra time on the stencil and placement to ensure perfection. My lines are flawless. It hasn't even been a week and I get comment after comment about my piece. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Jay'e to get started on my semi suit, starting with fill work on my arm. The atmosphere of the shop is very inviting, very inclusive, very professional, and a lot of fun. We had great conversations the whole time and she worked hard to do a job that was both great and comfortable for me in very sensitive areas. I got a cute little ankle tattoo from Kei last week and had a great experience. From start to finish she was incredibly sweet and genuine- offering to move the stencil as many times as I wanted (we moved it 3-4 times to get it exactly in the right place and she didn't mind at all). She filled me in on all of the steps of the process since this was only my second tattoo and I got my first one 18 years ago! I loved her design and the colors and shading that she did. At the end she told me to do a close up review and let her know if there was anything I wanted her to change. Probably most importantly though, She gave me her number and told me to reach out if I had any questions at all about after care. I took it down but never thought I would actually use it. Fast forward to about 2 hours after we left and I totally freaked out because my tattoo cover was leaking. I texted her and she responded right away and let me know that it was normal, but told me what to do going forward. I would highly recommend strata and Kei!!! read more

My hubby and I wanted to do something special and get tattoos together as a kind of vow renewal. We do like our tattoos and feel they turned out okay but aren't exactly matching what we wanted in the photos we brought in for reference. Our main issue was Balentine our artist. She was very condescending and rude throughout our time with her and didn't really listen to exactly what we wanted. She made us feel like we were getting a trashy tattoo and would probably want to cover up later on. We were met by other nice artists and front reception after the fact and we are sorry we weren't able to have a good experience with another artist. This parlor is going through a move and I feel we were passed off to the newest artist as the others are busy setting up the new location. I would recommend waiting until the move is over and asking for a more seasoned artist when looking. Someone who's lived a bit more and has learned the art of listening to the customer and what is important to them. read more
