I initially rated this business with 5 stars. They started out well, coming to clean our small business once a week and doing a great job. Now, I don't know what's happened the last 2-3 months. I'm thinking maybe they got a new crew that is not up to par. A couple of weeks ago they didn't clean the toilet at all. Also, I've repeatedly asked for the windows and glass doors to be cleaned properly, which they're supposed to do once a month, and they're still not done. I have waited as long as I could to change my rating and give them a chance to turn things around. My main contact, Sal, has been very attentive and periodically checking how things are going. However, there seems to be a break down in communication between him and the crew doing, or this case, not doing the work properly. (Sorry Sal.) read more

I hired Stratus for a post-construction cleaning at the end of an extensive renovation to clean up the significant amount of dust that accumulates on all the surfaces. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the service that was provided and would not recommend Stratus for any cleaning work whatsoever. I was already suspicious of the quality of the work when they claimed to be finished with one floor of the home after only an hour and asked me to go check - there was considerable dust in the corners, drawers, cabinets, and most surfaces. I was able to wipe a finger on any surface and have it covered in dust - in a supposedly cleaned, ready room. Typically, a vacuum should be used on all the surfaces to remove the majority of the dust. Instead, the cleaners just wet mopped everything, causing the dust to stick to the surfaces once dried. They subsequently tried wet wiping the surfaces several times again, which was useless - once dried the hazy dust would just reappear again over the entire surface. Additionally, the cleaners used fairly wet mops on our new engineered wood flooring, which caused some damage to several pieces of the flooring. After seeing the first room where they used the wet mop, I told them to dry it immediately and not use such a wet mop for the rest of the house - they proceeded to contour wet mopping the rest of the house. Later when I showed them the damage they were genuinely surprised, as if they had never cleaned hardwood or engineered wood flooring, only waterproof vinyl... With the dust in the cabinets and drawers, the cleaners just did a quick wet wipe, instead of vacuuming to remove the dust and debris. All they achieved was pushing the debris and dust around the cabinet/drawer without actually removing it. At some point I asked them to stop and go get a vacuum, which they proceeded to do. I ended up staying with them the entire day, essentially acting as a project manager, where they would "clean" an area, ask me to go check it, wipe a finger and find dust, and ask them to clean again. At some point after realizing that this was a waste of time, since they either didn't understand why their cleaning methods weren't working, or they just didn't care and were just going through the motions. I asked them to leave. I was quoted $1,500 for a 3,000sf home and paid a 50% deposit upfront. After talking to Sal, the Stratus rep/supervisor, they dropped the price to $1,000. The value of the work completed is not worth $1,000, let alone the 50% deposit. I ended up spending the next two days personally cleaning the house with a vacuum and dry Swiffer sheets - my cleaning included having to reverse the work the cleaners created (the dust haze on the surfaces due to the wet mopping). read more

They are detail oriented and super attentive to our customized needs, including implementing specialized cleaning care for our wood floors and marble counters, etc. Kini and the cleaning crew are also super accommodating by working around our business hours and schedules, and they take extra caution to secure our center while onsite and after. And they always show up with a positive, friendly attitude! I also really appreciate Kini's immediate communication and accessibility whenever it is needed. On the same note, Wayne Leishman is also a fantastic Operations and Account Manager and an absolute pleasure to work with! Wayne's customer service and continuous check-ins, and his reassurance that no task is too small or too large, really adds the "white glove" touch to our entire experience! The collection agency your company sent us to did forward an email to me from your office saying that my complaint was "just noise". Literally the worst cleaning company I have ever come across I do not recommend them , they were hired to clean our office and every time it's like the place was not even touched paper on the floors dust everywhere, once we decided to finally get rid of them. We purchased cleaning supplies for our NEW cleaning person we realized the company not only took the cleaning WE purchased but also took half our supplies with them once we fired them. Avoid at all costs! They require a long term commitment from businesses, which is fine, but not when the company has consistency issues and a revolving door problem with employees. They also expect payment for the month ahead which is hugely problematic when they are then charging you for visits that their cleaning staff don't actually show up to clean for. Then you are spending countless hours attempting to get invoices corrected. The people who work for them are combative, take zero ownership of their mistakes and are just overall horrible people to do business with. I had to provide alarm logs to prove their cleaning staff didn't show up to my facility multiple times. I have two locations in Los Angeles - one of them they staffed well. I'll give them that. The woman was pleasant and a hard worker but my second location is where I ran into most of my issues. Their staff there cut corners and often didn't show to clean. It got to the point where it was not a good look for my business, since it is a service oriented business with customers coming to my facility. Ultimately, I demanded to be released from the agreement and provided a final (and accurate) invoice to wrap things up. It took them almost two weeks to get that to me and then they have the nerve to threaten legal action. I have been requesting updates invoices for months!!! I believe this company counts on businesses not catching their errors. Nonetheless, I am hoping to warn other business owners. Look elsewhere!!! Anywhere but stratus! read more

After having a horrible experience with Coverall, I contacted Stratus about cleaning my spin studio in LA. I had high hopes that with Stratus my problems in this area would be solved, but unfortunately it was just the opposite. I can't speak to the cleaning services because we never even got that far. The sales guy (who I had been speaking to and working with for months) apparently agreed to a price point that wasn't cross checked with a cleaning crew, and in the 11th hour (the day before work was to begin), they basically told me they couldn't find a crew to take the job and I should look elsewhere. This was AFTER the contract was signed and I had fired Coverall. I have up to 100 people coming and going every day, and couldn't afford to have a dirty studio. With my hands tied by back, I agreed to raise the price but even then, they were unable to fulfill their end of the commitment. The sales guy even left me a voicemail saying "we're technically not bound to the contract until work begins," essentially leaving me high and dry. This sales guy clearly had NO idea how to draft a proposal, and as a result over promised and under delivered. Do not hire Stratus, do not hire Coverall. In a panic, I was referred to Jani-King and called them. Within one hour a wonderful guy was in my space, found me a temporary crew to clean while the logistics were finalized, and had me a signed quote within 3 days. I have a small business and have used a few different professional cleaning services over the years. One company, I had to take to small claims court! So, my experiences have not been great with these types of companies! We found Stratus over 3 years ago. I am not wild about their business staff/front desk (they have been rude, unhelpful, and inaccurate!), but our cleaners are fantastic! Jose and his crew are great, and when we have any issue at all, they are quick to fix the problem. They are reliable and trustworthy. We have cameras, so we can see how hard they work. On top of that, Victor is the best of the best!! Victor makes sure everything runs smoothly, is always available, does compliance checks and is just overall great! We have a large almost 5K sq ft Center with a lot of foot traffic, and we work with children, so our cleaning service has to be impeccable, and we get that service with Stratus. read more

I have been in private practice for 30 years now, and my experience with this cleaning company was by far, the worst janitorial experience, ever! First, I had to go through two different directors since the first one didn't take any notes on what needed to be cleaned, and the first janitor was so bad, we had to go to the next one within two weeks. The second one was even worse, and after putting up with it for six months (!), I cancelled my contract with them and asked for a partial refund on the month. They still billed me for the full month, and although i disputed it with my credit card company, they wouldn't let up because of the contract, although they know how terrible my experience was with them.
