Another great small Black Owned Business!!! Need a hat? Why not stop here for one! Not only do they sell hats for those Country/soul line dancing divas and demons but they also sell other products. (Respectfully) I purchased a perfume oil from here, months ago and have been looking for one similar which has been impossible to find. Upon entrance, the Owner and his girlfriend were nothing but friendly, professional and are awesome humans! What a lovely couple! The oils are honestly my favorite since the smells last all day long. I'm always receiving many compliments on my scent. Don't hate! When I share with others, of the scent I'm wearing and where it's from, they are shocked that the store is here and that they haven't gone. I have been a serious hat collector for about 10 years. Goorin Bros was my favorite when I lived in the SF Bay and Atlanta. I hear the Goorin at Ponce City Market in ATL closed (sad face). I've been in Phoenix for a few years and hadn't found a hat store that I liked, until now. I learned about this place on instagram. I love the selection and the custom hats. I have gotten several compliments on my hat. I will definitely be back. Hats have become more popular in recent years. I am particular about the hats I wear, I can tell when a hat is cheap. This place has good quality hats and their pricing is reasonable. You will pay more for a custom hat (I did) but it is a one of a kind original. The service was great too, I love my hat so much! This has to be the hippest hat store in town. They have an amazing, eclectic selection, and their pride in their artistry and craftsmanship is evident. If you want a funky, blues hat or a hard hitting rock-n-roll statement, a newsie flat cap, or a south-western cowboy hat come here first. I saw several things I liked from several different hats, and Asr was able to hook me up. He never oversold me. In fact, he said I need to love it. I had a really wonderful hat buying experience here from start to finish. I had heard lots of good things about this place, so I planned to stop by while visiting Phoenix. When we arrived the shop was closed, but the sign on the door said, "open by appointment," so I gave them a call, got the voicemail, and left a message. They called back almost immediately and let me know they could be there in 10 minutes. Even though we pulled him out of his Tuesday activity so that we could shop, the owner (Ali) was incredibly friendly, played an Outkast album for us, and patiently let us try on ALL of his beautifully well made hats. The shop is bigger than it looks from the outside, both rooms are well organized and full of beautiful hats, custom feathers, and some handmade jewelry. When I finally chose my hats, Ali even packed them in a hat box to keep them safe on my flight home. I left with one wool and one straw hat that I'm sure will keep me looking fresh for a lifetime. read more

K so this has to be the best hat store I've ever been too. The salespeople were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The selection is incredible. They have everything you could possibly imagine... styles I've never even heard of. My head is small and i wear baseball caps because I can never find brim hats that look good on me. Thank god I found this place because I managed to get about six hats the other day and they all look great. The prices are more than fair too. In fact I'd say the hats are too inexpensive for what they are. I could have spend half a day trying in hats because I loved them so much. I can't wait to come back to Arizona and revisit this gem. Straw and Wool is the kind of small business that deserves your attention and support. They have a huge selection, multiple sizes to try on, and the people who run the store had great personalities. After taking the feathers off and replacing them with the ones I wanted she then proceeded to tell me that it was a final sale. It would have been better that she gave me a choice rather than telling me after the fact. Then upon paying I had a 10% coupon and the girl said she would credit back my account and I still haven't received it.
