Ok we had to put down our pet Abby. To say the staff was caring and sensitive would be an understatement. I wish I could give a higher rating. They have always been attentive and frankly the vets helped us get extra year pain free for our dog. It was difficult to say goodbye but this staff handled it with class and superb professionalism. We can't say thank you enough.

We've been coming to Srawbridge for quite some time after they took in our cat for an emergency allergy visit. They treat both Cleopatra and Hannibal very well. The techs never get upset when Hannibal is scared of them picking him up and does some barking. The vets are also very nice to both our kids and all smiles. When they call to remind us of appointments or update us, they're super friendly. Prices are reasonable in my opinion, but pets expensive in general and we have a few. When we got our lizard, they recommended an exotic pet vet to us as they couldn't and that was great. We usually don't have a preference in who sees us. I do have to say that Hannibal get so much love from the techs that he usually calms down by the time we're supposed to leave and get everything together. They were super accommodating during the storm where we expected flooding for medication to help our Cleopatra travel well up to Northern VA.

Second Bill. Had to pay or no rabies vaccine. Almost identical to first bill two weeks prior. This one cost me $248.

Don't do it!! If you need a veterinarian that you can trust with your money, look somewhere else. I needed a rabies vaccine for a new puppy, so I got an appointment. At the appointment I was provided an itemized list of charges at the outset. During the appointment the Vet said my dog had an ear infection and it should be treated at home for 7 days before getting the vaccines. I was required to pay the itemized charges that day for the vaccines and fecal tests, which I did. When I returned today for the vaccines, they were administered, and I was presented with a second itemized charge list that was identical to the first charge list which I had already paid for. When I protested, they produced a second charge sheet from the first visit that I had never seen before. They said on my first visit I paid for an ear exam and associated items related to it, but I did not pay for the vaccines. I told them that I was never told about or presented with any itemized list regarding ear exams, only the list with the vaccines and fecal test which I acknowledged and paid for at the first visit. In the end I had no choice but to pay the additional charges or they wouldn't give me the rabies certificate. These people should be ashamed of themselves. I ended up spending $634.66 for a Rabies and Bordetella vaccines and one dose of flee/tick/heartworm medication. Highway robbery folks. They are a bait and switch operation focused on separating you from you hard earned money. Again, they should be ashamed of themselves, but I doubt they will. I will be looking for an attorney to haul them in front of a judge to explain things the same way they explained them to me, so let's see how that goes.

My husband and I took our dog Hercules here needing blood work done cause he was on treatment for Gastroenteritis and we needed to see if he was progressing. Unfortunately he was not, so we had to make the hard decision to let him go. The vet and staff was so sweet, I don't remember the names cause I was too much of a wreck to think but they were so kind and patient with us through the process. They had a jar of chocolates to give as well before starting the process. They gave us their sympathy and condolences and we're so respectful when it came to payment and through the process they were amazing. We got his ashes and paw prints in today and I'm so happy with how it all came out. The company who did it all did really well and it looks beautiful.

Lincoln is always well taken care of from the moment we check in for our appointment until the time we check out. We are grateful for the excellent care all the docs and vtechs provide our precious boy.

Had to come in here for a pet emergency while visiting from out of town. It was our first time at this location and staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to take my sweet pup in and help her out, even though we'd never visited this vet and lacked paperwork (she didn't need vaccinations). Staff were very upfront with pricing, and let me know that emergency-non-appointment visits *started* at $85 (yikes). We all know vets are pricey, so don't expect to walk out without your wallet feeling significantly lighter. But can we really put a price on our animals? I was very happy with the service we received and the care they were able to administer. Saturday's are busy days for Vets, so I was grateful they were willing to take a walk-in.

But well worth it and very well explained from the start. I got updates throughout the process (he was inpatient for ~3 days) that included how he was doing, what the vets were doing in terms of his care, and where the pricing was from the initial quote. Every person I interacted with at Bay Beach was professional and kind. I was able to visit my cat while he was there and never felt rushed with him. They treated him like one of their own and I am sure that part of his positive recovery was because of the care they showed him while I couldn't be there. Definitely would recommend Bay Beach should you be in the unfortunate situation of needing an emergency vet.

My visits here were on February 4 and 5, 2025. With this hospital being in a shopping center, there was ample parking available. The hospital is fairly easy to find there. In the afternoon on February 4th, Charlie, who is a male maltipoo and only one year old at the time, he was having a seizure of some kind. We first went to Strawbridge Animal Care which is his primary vet location. After a few minutes, they let us know that the on-call vet was out for lunch, and they gave us the info to come to this animal hospital, which would take about 10 minutes to get there. They were notified ahead of time of us coming. Once we got here, I picked up Charlie from my mom and ran to the door to get inside. It was locked so they had to come and unlock the door. They were very quick about getting the door unlocked and when we told them who it was, they were ready and took him back for an immediate evaluation and testing. I had recently started a Trupanion Pet Insurance policy too, and they were able to handle that electronically. I never thought I'd have to use it, but I am glad I got it now. After some time, one of the veterinary techs came out and gave an update. His bloodwork and such were normal and also let us know what medications they were giving him for the seizures. We were there quite a while, and the veterinarian seeing him came out to let us know the seizures are coming under control, but he would need to be held overnight for observation and continued treatment. We came back the following day and things were looking much better. The last time they had to administer a medication for the seizures was around 1 am that morning. Ultimately, they weren't able to identify what would have caused the seizures in the first place, but at least he was back to his normal self. Overall, the staff were very friendly to us and kept us updated the entire time, even by phone in the evening on that first day. It's crazy when you see just how much it costs too, but at least it was covered by the pet insurance except for vet exam fees and such. I would come back here again if an emergency should arise, even though I hope that never happens again.

When I called, the staff answered right away and advised me to bring him in. I waited for about 30 minutes to an hour (I don't remember exactly because of the adrenaline). The other patrons I sat with were amazing, we talked to each other and I feel like it helped us stay calm. I was shaking while I filled out the paperwork. They came to get my cat. I sat in the lobby for a while before they brought me into a private room. The vet came in after about 15-30 minutes (again I was so anxious I would not be able to give a perfect estimate). The vet was incredibly kind, let me know my cat's urethra was not blocked. The vet tech who came in was amazing. I wish I got her name. She explained the diagnosis to me and even gave me a sticky note for a water fountain that worked for her cat with FIC diagnosis. They gave him a buprenorphine injection for the pain and sent us home with an oral med for his pain. Unfortunately he did get worse the next day. In the evening he got into my bed and refused to eat or drink. I put a litter box in the room with food and water and closed the door to ensure he didn't have any stress. I decided to call the vet again and ask about his symptoms. They again answered immediately and recommended that I bring him in that evening. I brought him back and the staff triaged him appropriately. He was seen within 30 minutes. They again brought me to a private room. At this point I was not as stressed as I was the previous day, so I remember the doctor's name. Dr. Abernathy was amazing and explained everything at each step. The doctor came in a few times before the vet tech came in with an estimate. They let us know that typically people do not have the funds straight up for the treatment and let us know about Cherry, a 0% APR (for certain plans) payment plan. We signed up for cherry and only paid the first month's deposit straight up. The receptionist was amazing also, very comforting through the entire thing. They call and give updates about every 12 hours, but answer immediately if you would like an update from the vet techs before then about general treatment questions. As a customer, I have read the negative reviews of this emergency vet. Many reviews complain of the money required to treat their pet. They say that the staff either pressured them into the payment plan or to euthanasia. What I can say is that even if that is the case, veterinary offices are businesses unfortunately and do require payment or else they will lose money and be unable to operate, so maybe we should fight for more funds to be given to veterinary offices to save animal lives. You cannot just leave the cost to the people who operate the clinic and treat the patients or else they would be paid nothing. This is on all of us. Human hospitals receive way more funds if the bill isn't paid which is the difference. It isn't because the vet doesn't care. I'm sure that the euthanasia talk after an estimate for care is an attempt to get the patient to stop suffering if the owner will not pay for treatment. I do not discount anyone's experience or feelings, but please think of the staff before you make comments that are out of emotion. Every staff member I met cares deeply for animals.

I'll never bring a pet to Banfield again after how we were treated…read more My boyfriend and I rescued a stray kitten after she was attacked by dogs. We took her to multiple emergency vets over the weekend, and while no one did a full exam, we were told she seemed stable and we brought her home to care for her. She was eating, purring, walking, and showed no signs of distress. Early the next week, we took her to Banfield because they had the earliest available appointment. We explained everything and shortly after drop-off, they called saying she needed $1,700 in radiographs for her back leg. Given how well she was acting, we decided to get a second opinion and were able to secure an appointment for the next day. When we told Banfield, they pressured us and said our only options were to pay or surrender her to the SPCA. Then they told us they'd be contacting animal control. We picked her up anyway, got her pain meds from them, and the next thing we know, animal control is at our home. The officer reviewed everything, examined the kitten, and said she seemed fine, wasn't in pain, and looked well cared for. We'd already taken her to three vets, set her up in a safe, loving environment, and had another vet appointment scheduled. Despite all this, Banfield reported us, seemingly because we didn't agree to a costly procedure right away. I respect animal welfare, but this wasn't about that. This felt like pressure and retaliation. If you care about your pet and your peace of mind, I'd strongly recommend avoiding Banfield. UPDATE: After our awful experience at Banfield, we took our kitten Jammy to a different vet -one that was already scheduled before Banfield tried to pressure us into an outrageous $1,700 treatment plan. The vet she saw at Midway Veterinary Hospital, who was professional and thorough, said she couldn't feel any swelling in Jammy's leg, saw no signs of pain, and believed there was no fracture. To be cautious, she performed radiographs (with sedation), and the total cost for everything - including the office visit, radiograph, sedation, flea/tick meds, and bandaging if needed - was under $400. She also said she couldn't imagine how any non-emergency procedure would cost $1,700 unless it was emergency surgery - and even then $1,700 is pushing it. So Banfield tried to charge us over $1,700 for something another highly qualified vet did for less than a third of the price. When we told Banfield we had another appointment and wanted a second opinion, they told us our only options were to pay them that day and get the procedure done with them or surrender Jammy to the SPCA. When we declined and said we were picking her up, they threatened to call animal control - and then actually did. Animal control showed up, evaluated Jammy, and said she's clearly well cared for, in no pain, and has no signs of a broken leg. He also said the Banfield call was a waste of time and resources. We are animal lovers who acted quickly to save a kitten attacked by dogs. We got her seen by multiple vets, made sure she was safe and comfortable, and did everything responsibly. Banfield's response was not only offensive - it was irresponsible, retaliatory, and clearly motivated by profit. I will never trust Banfield with any animal again and strongly urge others to do their research. This wasn't about Jammy's welfare - this was about squeezing money out of us and punishing us for saying no. Absolutely unacceptable.I would give 0 stars if I could. If you are looking for quality and reasonable care for your pet, check out Midway Veterinary Hospital. They have been so amazing and I am more than content with the care Jammy has received here.
