This is what glueing after their C-section looks like.\
    Shawn Y.

Went for emergency care, I called to see if she would receive emergency care. I had a vet on the island will to do her c-section but worried that she might need extended care. So he recommended CORE, but CORE couldn't take her and suggested you. Our dog stopped having contractions after the first puppy was born dead and second was born alive. We called and VEST said they could get us right in. We drove 1 and 1/2 hours in a storm to get her the care she needed. Our breeder, also a nurse was in the back of my SUV taking care of the newborn pup and Dasha our female. We get there and she is started contractions again in the lobby, fluid is pouring out of her. Your techs bring out a mop to clean up the trail. They whisk her in for X-rays. The vet comes in our room and says there are 2 puppies wedged, one is dead the other has a strong heartbeat. The vet said she needed the C-Section. I'm thinking great, lets get her in now while the puppies are still alive. They leave us in the room with her for an hour, just to get us to sign the paperwork. Then they leave us there for another 2 hours before coming to take her to do blood work and the surgery. Dasha is laying in the corner in pain. The living puppy is in our arms, trying to keep it warm in your freezing patient room. The lack of urgency or triage of medical care was not all what we experienced or received. We got there at 10:00 pm, you have her records you know when we got there and what times she finally got blood work done and finally a surgery. Waiting on Blood work for a Dog who has been in labor since 5:00 is just redundant, she has to have surgery. This is just wasting more time, but padding that invoice. You know you are doing surgery. The dog is in crazy amount of pain, we are sitting there, I keep going to the front desk to ask for help. My breeder sends me out to the truck for gloves and tube, because she believes she is going to have to deliver puppies while we wait. I keep asking the front dest, "WHEN is she going in????" Nothing. Finally, they come get Dasha. I complain that the puppy is getting colder. They finally give me a warm water bottle to try to keep the puppy warm, while I'm waiting. An hour later, the vet comes in and tells me there were 3 dead puppies. And she can go home. What happened to the strong heartbeat the one wedged puppy had? I guess waiting for 3 hours killed that one and the puppy behind him. This is not emergency care. I'm sure your dog would have been whisked in immediately, but regular people are not granted that kind of care. Dasha and the 4 other living delivered puppies that survived your medical care, in spite of it, not because of it. I should have never left the island and gone to Dr. Elliot, Roanoke Vet Clinic. Extended care was not even offered. Clearly, if it was. Dasha's wound would have been found and treated. Then they ask me at the front desk, if I want the dead puppies. I say yes, I'll bury them with the one at home. Dasha comes out, they give me a box of live puppies at 3:00 am. And I can't get away from your place fast enough. I get a call the next morning that they forgot to give me the puppies and are charing me another $90.00 for a communal cremation. I still haven't received those ashes. I bring Dasha in the house and she lays down on the living floor, when she stands up there is a pool of blood underneath her. I assume it's from her C-section. I put the puppies with her and my husband stays up to watch them while I go to sleep. I wake at 7:30 and Dasha has not stopped bleeding. I turn her over and her incision is gapping open. I call my Vet at First Flight and get her right over. Where Dasha has to undergo another surgery only 4 hours after her C-section because the VEST vet, just glued her outer layer. No stitches or staples. The incision was much too long for glue on a nursing dog with 5 puppies. Dasha was bleeding before any of the puppies ever nursed on her. They also shorted us pills, your office had to call First Flight, and I had to pay for again at our local vet. The hits just keep coming from you guys. I want VEST to refund all my charges and Pay for the Dasha surgery at First Flight. I would also like my puppies ashes returned to us. But I'm afraid those have already been trashed. I'm shocked by the complete lack of unprofessionalism we experienced. It's just about the dollars. Please explain to me why I shouldn't file compliant with the State against Dr. Rachel Pratt and VEST in Virginia Beach, VA. We did not get the care we paid for. Regards Shawn York

I brought my sweet cat Lila in this morning. She has a history of seizures and suddenly couldn't walk, so I feared the worst and was stressed about potentially expensive vet bills. The staff was incredibly kind and empathetic. They saw her quickly and, thankfully, gave me good news, her condition wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. They didn't push unnecessary tests, treated her promptly, and I was able to take my girl home. The cost was very reasonable, and I'm so grateful for their care.

The very sick dog who was not shown any compassion by this veterinarian.

But well worth it and very well explained from the start. I got updates throughout the process (he was inpatient for ~3 days) that included how he was doing, what the vets were doing in terms of his care, and where the pricing was from the initial quote. Every person I interacted with at Bay Beach was professional and kind. I was able to visit my cat while he was there and never felt rushed with him. They treated him like one of their own and I am sure that part of his positive recovery was because of the care they showed him while I couldn't be there. Definitely would recommend Bay Beach should you be in the unfortunate situation of needing an emergency vet.

My visits here were on February 4 and 5, 2025. With this hospital being in a shopping center, there was ample parking available. The hospital is fairly easy to find there. In the afternoon on February 4th, Charlie, who is a male maltipoo and only one year old at the time, he was having a seizure of some kind. We first went to Strawbridge Animal Care which is his primary vet location. After a few minutes, they let us know that the on-call vet was out for lunch, and they gave us the info to come to this animal hospital, which would take about 10 minutes to get there. They were notified ahead of time of us coming. Once we got here, I picked up Charlie from my mom and ran to the door to get inside. It was locked so they had to come and unlock the door. They were very quick about getting the door unlocked and when we told them who it was, they were ready and took him back for an immediate evaluation and testing. I had recently started a Trupanion Pet Insurance policy too, and they were able to handle that electronically. I never thought I'd have to use it, but I am glad I got it now. After some time, one of the veterinary techs came out and gave an update. His bloodwork and such were normal and also let us know what medications they were giving him for the seizures. We were there quite a while, and the veterinarian seeing him came out to let us know the seizures are coming under control, but he would need to be held overnight for observation and continued treatment. We came back the following day and things were looking much better. The last time they had to administer a medication for the seizures was around 1 am that morning. Ultimately, they weren't able to identify what would have caused the seizures in the first place, but at least he was back to his normal self. Overall, the staff were very friendly to us and kept us updated the entire time, even by phone in the evening on that first day. It's crazy when you see just how much it costs too, but at least it was covered by the pet insurance except for vet exam fees and such. I would come back here again if an emergency should arise, even though I hope that never happens again.

This doggy daycare is the ultimate luxury retreat for pups--think canine country club with heart. From the moment I (Lexi the Bougie BT) strut through the doors, I'm treated like the royalty I am. The entire staff is amazing--genuinely loving, attentive, and totally in tune with every dog's personality. But the real stars of the show? Anthony and Michael, the owners, are top-tier, hands-on, always-on-site superheroes. They're there every single day--greeting us with love, making sure every detail is flawless, and creating an environment that feels like home... but better. But don't you worry, they even have cameras so that you can watch from home? And oh baby, the perks of this place: * Pool Days (yes, I splash with my squad) * Treat Parties * Photoshoots (hello, content!) * Outdoor Activities * My Boston Terrier crew--yes, I roll with a whole Boston gang! But that's not all... this place has a full-on doggy spa. * Nail trims * Ear cleanings * Teeth brushing * Luxurious baths and blowouts It's giving "spa day meets play day" and I'm absolutely here for it. And if you're traveling? No problem--they offer overnight accommodations so your pup can stay safe, comfy, and loved while you're away. No crates, no worries--just snuggles and structure. This isn't just doggy daycare--it's a lifestyle. A wellness center. A social club. A pampering palace. I go every day and I genuinely LOVE it.
