We found items of any and all categories, ranging from vintage concert tees, vinyl records, milk glass dishes and vintage jewelry to comic books, children's toys, books and more. In my opinion, most of the items were not priced to sell. They were being overvalued. The pricing was for the customer that comes in looking for a specific item for a specific purpose. We were just browsing for fun and unique finds and left with a pair of cuff links, a piece of costume jewelry, a few handkerchiefs and a book. We saw other items that we were interested in, but after doing some price comparison, we were able to find the same or similar items on online marketplaces such as eBay for less. The staff were kind and helpful. We stayed right up until closing time, and they never lost their professionalism or kindness like some businesses probably would when customers walk in moments before closing and disregard them when a shopkeeper reminds them. This was not us (we were there for about 2 hours), but I did witness this happening.

Antiquing is all about what the individual is looking for and I'd say they had a decent amount of items I was hoping to find. Upon entry there were a few employees sitting at the front counter but they did not greet me at all. At the time of check out they were a bit friendlier but I wouldn't rate them high on making customers (at least me) fell welcome. The 3 levels are pretty well organized and tidy and most booth item were reasonably priced. I found parking nearby on the street after circling the area a couple of times.

This is not your run of the mill antique mall, but more of designer showrooms. There are 2 buildings with decor and outside with nice garden plants. Rooms/booths are designed around themes and colors. They carry everything from painted furniture, old quilts, glassware and even some clothing and frozen pies. The staff is welcoming, engaging and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Once a month, they also host an outdoor market with about 12-15 vendors.

A smiling clerk welcomed us and explained the three buildings holding antiques and lamp shades. Brown's has been in business since 1945! I was drawn to the Clay City Pottery with beautiful colors. (Clay City Pottery is local, made on the west side of the state.) My husband honed in on several old political buttons. The antique furniture is lovely - mostly colonial. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of the antiques. A small cottage is filled with traditional style lampshades and a few more antiques. The garden that connects the buildings is lovely and peaceful. Old grinding stones are used for the walkways. There are several flights of stairs and the walkways are probably difficult to maneuver in a wheel chair or with a stroller. Street parking is free.

Okay, from the highway (96th Street near Zionsville Road), the place doesn't look like much. In fact, the main building looks like a simple enclosed pole barn while the the side building and the barn look in need of a lot of work. And since it was my first visit, I found the side building rather cramped and filled with lots of fixtures, hinges, small lighting fixtures, etc. It did have a few cool pieces (somewhat large for any old home) that caught my eye as statement pieces when I explored the back room. The barn was unheated and had lots of old doors in various conditions. But what I wasn't ready for turned out to be the items inside the main building. The place is huge and I can't think of a single place I've looked at antiques that had as an impressive collection of fireplaces, bars, chandeliers, and more. I wandered through and saw ornate details everywhere. This building was still packed, but much easier to get around and find items. Although they are going to convert to a standard price tag, most of the existing pieces have a paper tag with three numbers on it. The middle number is the price component of their system, so be advised. Now I can't say if their prices are the best or competitive, but considering how unique some of the pieces are, I can say I haven't seen anything close to some of the pieces here. It is bigger than it looks, takes up two storefronts and even goes into about three more rooms in the back that I would have missed if the clerk hadn't tipped me off about them as I was about to leave. There was an attendee who literally kept putting himself in front of others and reaching across and bumping others, interrupting the auctioneer. The auctioneer helped quell the actions of this person and everything went back to normal. It was nice to see that the auctioneer was attentive to the situation and stop a possible problem. It seems unique to be able to come across a coupon for this store. I had one for a discount off an…read moreitem, so I decided to visit when school was not in session and hoped to find sale items. They shortened hours on Labor Day. From the outside, the place seems small with bigger items typically outside to grab drivers' attention. They have a variety of (new and used) merchandise including furniture. It is like a Goodwill store but more organized. I was told that the items were donated, and they do not have sales. I bought a lap desktop with folding legs and section holders; it would be so helpful especially when I tend to find writing utensils that have fallen between the couch cushions. Also, a green long-sleeve dress shirt caught my eyes so I had to go look at it, which happened to fit me; how could I resist buying this name-brand, attractive shirt! I used that coupon for the shirt, so I got more savings than for the desktop. There seem to be a couple of spots I would like to try to wash out of the shirt. So both $5 or less. Sold! When I got home, I realized that maybe the shirt was new because there was a spare button attached. I will see if the ink on the sleeve comes out. I think the store changed its name to Noble Cause (but still led by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul) and did change their hours to M, T, Th, and F 9-3 with Wed. and Sat. only to serve from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's food pantry.
