We brought our dog here for a neuter - the process was going normal until we went to pick him up the following day. Our dog was kept overnight at the facility for what was described as "observation" - we would have gladly taken him home same day like most facilities allow but they explained this was their protocol for safety, so we had no problem with it. When he was returned to us, we soon learned that he had not been provided with a cone or other preventative measure to stop him from licking or nibbling at his incision and genital area. As a result, he was able to significantly irritate the surgical site during his overnight stay. Following his return home, he developed notable complications, including bleeding, severe inflammation, and infection. Our veterinarian diagnosed him with hemoscrotum. While we are relieved that his stitches were not damaged, the situation caused him considerable discomfort, extended his healing time to over a month, and required an urgent visit to our local veterinarian. This resulted in over $400 in added veterinary expenses. Meanwhile, I tried to send in this formal complaint along with our vet's statement, and I was met with absolutely no accountable, no desire to talk on the phone (email only), and no human decency to amend the situation and prevent this to other families in the future. read more

I called up 2 days prior to wanting to adopt a Chihuahua who was on their adoption list. They were 2 females and i said I only wanted 1 and would that be possible. man said yes. I told him I could come the next afternoon; needed a ride there and would he pls hold one of the 2 for me. yes. Got there the next afternoon; by chance he was in the office area andlo and behold oh they were just adopted yesterday! And you didn't call me? I had been without a dog for close to a year. They said they had a chi mix. met the dog there; a male who did not get along with other dogs. /fine I had none. Does he get along with cats? I took him home for 4250.; should have read the papers before. Fed him and he immediately lunged at 1 of my 2 cats! Thi isn't going to work out. had to have him leashed next to me; cat stays in the living rm; i sleep on sofa and that's where the dog was. next am got someone to drive me back with this dog to return him and insist they mark that he hates cats and to be the ONLY animal in the home. less than 1 day return and no refund at all! I had only a hour since they are located about 47 mins away from me the adoption process was super easy I got to meet all the the cats and kittens they had available and went home with two pictures down below tho it took us sometime to get to know each other and my other cat Chirpy we started to trust each other the reason why I can only give 4 stars is I was informed Senya had her one shot and only needed her rabies shot unfortunately I now have to make a trip up there to get both her shot but since there free I have no problem with this lol I do like there app they give you the only thing is I wish I could add my other cat to the app so I can get reminders when she needs to go to the vet read more

We found the most amazing dog! We wanted her to meet my brother's dog, as she was going to be interacting with his dog. Had them meet and interact, only to have the dog that we were going to adopt be pulled away and then being told that she had Kennel Cough. We were just on the phone with Stray Haven an hour before and we were not told this. We wanted to have the temperament test be done. We were told that it could be done with us watching, only to be told that we couldn't later on. After having my brother's dog meet the dog we wanted to adopt, we were TOLD that they would do the test and they would hold her because they knew we wanted her. The next day, we received a phone call stating that she had been adopted out to someone who didn't care whether or not she had the test. To cut it short: - Miscommunication between staff and adopters - Misinformation - Do not hold pets I was NOT a happy person. They need to get their act together for their pets. read more

Wonderful place, with such kind and caring staff! The enclosures are spacious, the animals are very well taken care of, the establishment kept everything sanitary and followed the COVID guidelines. We came here after losing both of our senior cats within six months of each other, and came home with two lovely Tortie twin girls that were rescued from a hoarder house. read more

In August my boyfriend and I adopted a dog from Stay Haven. He was a seven year old pitbull mix. He was doing really well with adapting to our home with the exception of being shy. Unfortunately, he eventually bit me and my other dog. We ended up having to bring him back to the shelter due to his behavior continuing towards myself and my other dog. I really would have appreciated it if before hand there was a clear back story to this dog. We wanted to be his forever home but not at the cost of someone else or another animal getting hurt. The shelter was understanding when we brought him back but we should have been informed of him being aggressive to other dogs ahead of time. read more

I've always been a fan of the shelter. Two and half weeks ago we adopted a huge pitbull by the name of George and he blended well with the family besides being timid at times. One day he growled at my wife and then he growled at our vet. Then I nudged him off a bed and he turned on me and snapped at me. I called the trainer and explained that we were now scared of the dog. She said that we should bring him back in. The day I adopted the dog, the management was so friendly and helpful. When we went to turn the dog back in, they were all acting really shady and had no interest in hearing about the dogs behavior or triggers. They had me sign a surrender paper. Then I asked if there was somebody that might be a better match and the person said we were blacklisted now because we had to turn the dog back in. I politely asked to speak to the manager but she had gone in her office to avoid us. He said that he was handling it and not her. I clearly didn't care above 160.00 dollars they robbed from me, but I cared more about how they treated us. We will offer ours and our vets statement to anyone that is bitten by this dog. I would never treat a customer the way they treated us. I feel awful for the person they sacrificed to start this shelter because now its being ran into the ground. read more
