Scott helped us in moving a new boat lift into our lake, move our existing lift to a neighbor and also helped out a few other people on the lake while the guys were on the lake. They did an excellent job. They had to add legs to the lift and came back the next day to ensure the lift was set properly. Bought a a 24 volt trolling motor in fact it's still in the box never used it they special ordered it

Dropped my bow off for new strings. Was told 3-4 biz days. I had to call on day 6 to find out it was ready. At pickup- both my harmonic dampeners are gone off my bow. Kid working said they're known to fall off. They were on when I dropped it off! Been here three times now and have had mixed signals every time. Guy working didn't even want to take the time to sell me custom arrows. Got the impression that since I didn't buy my Mathews bow @ THEIR shop... they weren't happy. This was the best rated archery shop near me in Lockport. I've gone out of my way to give them business. This is bullshit and to see this in the hunting industry is a damn shame. TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR BOW WHEN LEAVING IT WITH THEM! UPDATE 7/26/24: Drove down to the Sportman's Den in Cedar Lake, little bit of a drive, but much better service and peace of mind there! That's where I'll be going every time, despite having Strictly Archery in my backyard. Simply don't trust them or get the 1 on 1 service I need. I've asked many people about the Harmonic Dampeners and have also searched every inch of my house, bow cases, backpacks... no way both mysteriously fell off and I know they were on the bow when I took them there. 2 of them cost me over a $100. Still makes me angry thinking about it! read more

My husband and I were brand new to archery when we met Rich at our sportsman's club event late last summer, where he was instructive, patient and informative. We ended up at the store to have our bows properly fitted (our local big sportsman's store setup turned out to be extremely sub-par), and our experience there was the same - instructive, informative, and patient with all our newbie questions, despite a very low total to our transaction and bows purchased elsewhere. Our two subsequent visits have been the same, and over the hours we have spent in the store and on their range, we've seen all the other customers' experience similarly. On those visits, we purchased upgrades to the elements of our starter bows, but these were both initiated by us asking about them - they've never made a suggestion that would cost us more money for the upsell (other than the obvious and otherwise-inevitable upgrade to a Mathews bow in the future - haha). There are several archery stores which are closer to us, and I'm sure most of them are fine, but Scott, Rich, Brandon and the rest of the staff have all been fantastic to work with. We'll keep going back here, thanks! read more

I went into Strictly Archery, a wonderful Christian and family owned business, to purchase my 2018 Matthews Triax. The owners, Mr Scott and Miss Donna, have been treating me like family since I started going there, two years ago. Their staff, Brandon, Kevin and Chris, are just as great. Everyone is very knowledgeable and skilled, and their customer service is outstanding! With it being so hard for small businesses to thrive, I'm always happy to help support those that truly deserve it. Especially, when Mr Scott's pricing is comparable, if not better than any big box or on-line store, and has never failed me at finding what I need. I'll never be able to say enough good things about them! Moreso to the point, after I bought the Triax from this great place. I asked Mr Scott, what I should do to make sure my bow is completely tuned for this year's deer season, as I like to shoot fixed broadheads. He then explained to me how to do a "walk-back tune". He explained the advantages, and how much more affective it is, than a paper tune. With his knowledge, he managed to explained, in great detail, of what pin to use, how to step back, and follow through at 20 yards, 30, then 40. I have never seen a process so effective, before in tuning. Thank you so much, Mr Scott, for your wisdom, and all that you have taught me in the past two years! Love the shop, love the range, love the staff. I've been here several times and bought my Mathews halon 7 here. They were extremely helpful and very knowledgable on all archery equipment. It makes me laugh to read other people's bad reviews on here. Like one review said, it took 3 1/2 hours to put a peep, dloop and rest on his bow. Then why didn't he leave and do it himself? That's what happens when you go to a shop right before turkey season! I personally prefer working on my own bow and if it fails in the field I feel comfortable working on it myself as any hunter should. Bottom line most people only take the time to write a review when it's a bad one. I like the shop and wanted to give them a good review. I drive around for work ALOT and been to many many shops and this is by far my favorite. read more

I had excellent customer service when I came here. They spent time explaining everything I needed to know about the bow, and helped me pick out the right equipment to go along with it. What was really nice is that they didn't make me feel rushed despite it being near closing time. They helped me sight in my bow, make adjustments, etc. Even though this place is over an hour drive from my house, it was worth the two trips out there (once to select the bow, once to come back and pick it up when it was ready). read more

I recently purchased a new bow from Scott. I couldnt have been more pleased. When i was in the market for a new bow i went to a few of the dealers in the area. They all acted like they were to good for my money. Scott on the other hand took the time to set up just about every bow he had in the shop I am very satisfied. I was so satisfied that i took my Hoyt to get restrung. I got it back after a month (they had it done within a week). That is now my back up bow. Set up and dead nuts. Dealt with Scott and he was nothing but a complete jerk to me. Apparently it was going to take a month to take to get parts from mathews and a week or so to put them on. I had called mathews and Scott had called me back complaining that I did! Spent over 1000 on a bow and that is the service I get. I ended up having to pay for the warranty work. I got my bow back then and nothing was tuned or set up right. Ended up selling my mathews so I didn't have to deal with him again. Nothing but problems and horrible customer service. read more

I am a novice, just getting into bow hunting and this store has made my experience painless and fun. Both Kevin and Tyler were extremely helpful in providing insight to what type of set up would be best for me. I spent 2 and a half hours the first time I was there and felt relieved to have such knowledgeable people assist me. They don't pressure you into buying a more expensive set up than you can afford and allowed me to try out a handful of bow before my decision. Awesome shop. Bought my baby here(Matthews Z2) for a fair price. I went in the day before my hint was planned(I'm notorious for procrastinating) and planned on leaving with my bow. I guess this is unheard of to buy/ have a bow set up and leave with it all in 2 hours, but these guys don't d*** around, and got it done that night. Left with my bow and a smile on my face. They carry Matthews bows and are knowlegable about their craft. If I'm near the area I'll definately be returning here. read more

I could not say enough great things about the service I received after brining in my boat that needed repair on my Minn Kota Ultrex. I believe your employ Kevin (young guy) was the young man who serviced my trolling motor. What a great employee you have there! He was fast, courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. He did great job of explaining everything that could have happened and what he was replacing and how he was going about doing it. I know I have been a pretty regular customer all the way back since the days of you guys being out by the Louis Joliet Mall. We are super lucky to have such a great shop and great people who run it in our community. Too many times this day in age people expect great service (which we are entitled to), but then do not take the 5 minutes to recognize the excellence we experienced. Seems like too many people only want to complain and talk about problems. When you pay over $2K for a trolling motor one of the things you are paying for is the warranty and the service that comes along with it. Things break and that's just a part of life, but the service you guys provided to me was "Top Notch." I will continue to recommend you guys and your shop to anyone who ever asks. I think people are more likely to do a review when they have a bad experience somewhere. With that being said, I bought an Obsession Evolution bow here 2 years ago and had an overall good experience. While it took forever for my ordered bow to come in, that's more the manufacturers fault than the shop. I brought my own accessories in and they set it up for me. I was kind of skeptical because a young kid set the bow up, but he did a great job. The bow was tuned well right off the bat and has stayed that way for 2 years now. I have taken some great bucks with this bow. They seem to push Matthews and Bowtech more, but take a look at their Obsession Bows. It's the best bow I have ever owned, even better than the Hoyts that I have owned. Staff was friendly. read more

At 6:30 on 2/26/16 I walked into the shop to look around and ask about a crossbow and mind you there was only one person in the shop and 2 people working and they couldn't find the time to talk to me . So I looked around and found they only had one kind of cross bows so I decided to leave and one of the guys decide to look up and (I quote ) the says WHAT DO YOU WANT ! Like I was wasting his time ? And I replied not much and walked out . I had I budget 1,500 bucks to start with but more later down the road . I've been treated better at mega sports and that really sad because mega sport is infamous for treating their customer's like crap ! So I'm on the hunt for a bow shop that treats people right . 2/1/16 I found one ! Nock and feather in Aurora it's a little bit of a drive but well worth the drive . I walked in the they have 5 customers in the shop and I didn't have to wait but one minute ! They showed me 4 different kinds of crossbows that they had in stock and a catalog of others . I'm going back and ordering one this week so strictly archery just lost out on 1,500 bucks and a life long customer ! It's really sad when you show up with money in hand and they treat you like crap . read more

**********DO NOT BUY A BOW HERE********** I recently purchased a brand new Bowtech bow here. I paid eleven hundred dollars in full up front. I waited for just over four weeks for delivery. I don't know why it took so long as it is a production bow, and not in any way custom. I am under the impression that my money was used to pay other bills in the interim. It didn't matter anyway because they measured my draw length incorrectly, and my draw length is to long for this model bow. How does a bow shop, with "archery techs" measure draw length incorrectly? I wanted to have the cams timed, and have the bow tuned. They do not have the tools, or more importantly the knowledge to do it. When I picked the bow up, it took three and a half hours to install a D-loop, a rest, and a peep sight. Three and a half hours! I know the draw length is wrong because when I took it to a reputable shop that tech showed me where the string and cables were separating from only twelve arrows fired. I gave this review one star, if I could give it a worse rating I would. I will never spend another dollar there, and I would suggest that you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. I have heard of a great bow shop in Woodstock Illinois. Once again I will say do not buy a bow here. This shop has no idea what they are doing, or what they are selling. I certainly would never have any work done there on any archery equipment I own. Read the other negative reviews on this site, I didn't want to believe them and I learned the hard way.
