Went in with my teen daughter knowing nothing. They were so helpful and a joy to talk to. I loved how they didn't look down on us because of being new to archery. Lots to choose from but they helped us know what to get and even have starter packages to get you everything you need. Yes a bit pricy but price is worth the hands on and custom size selection. This time around I was in the market for a new bow. Was suggested that I try a few to "feel" the bows. The Elite Omnia was by far the best "feel". Dead in the hand and well balanced. I used to target shoot when I was a teenager and wanted to take the hobby up again. I went into the store to buy a bow but was unfamiliar with the new technology and products. Pete the owner helped me select a bow that was not overpriced and perfect for simple target shooting. He custom set the bow to my height and arm length. Once the bow was ready he took me into the range and ensured the bow was suitable and refreshed me on bow handling. The shop has a great selection of bows, crossbows, and accessories for shooting and hunting. Pete and his wife made me feel at home while the bow was being set up. The atmosphere was welcoming even for my first time being there. They also offer shooting classes if you are a first time user or would like to enhance your existing skills. I have to say that this is the best archery shop around. They are extremely honest and knowledgeable about the sport. Every question I had was answered. They were helpful on every aspect. Experience: I walked in one day looking for a new bow. They did not pressure me into buying one, they allowed me to try out every bow known to man at there disposal. They also adjusted the bows for me, so I was comfortable testing them out (weight and draw). I returned two weeks later and purchased two bows from them. The guy at the shop went out of his way to make sure the second bow I bought (for my girlfriend) was customized just for her. I did not request this special service but yet appreciated this act of kindness. From my experience at this shop, they have gained a loyal customer for life. Went to Buckstop for my first bow. They are primarily a hunting shop but had absolutely no qualms about setting me up for target shooting. They put me on the range, tried out a bow, even had a pro target coach there to take a look at my form. Picked a bow, they set it up while I waited and I am good to go! When you first go in, you need to say "I have money and I want to buy this." If you lead with money and if he has it then he will be your best friend and your experience will be amazing. Awesome shop. Carries the big 2(Hoyt and Matthews), the owner(Pete I believe his name is) is real knowlegable and quick to help you with whatever you need. Indoor 20 Yd range is nice... Fair rates(6 or 7 an hour)... Yeah man just an awesome spot. A lot of cool guys shoot there as well. I am newer to archery and the crowd shooting here is always giving me tips. Great people and great service! The owner Pete is a little gruff but is very honest and helpful. My father purchased a bow for me for Christmas and I waited to use it when summer came along. Well long story short I was too weak to draw the bow and no amount of adjusting would help. Pete called around trying to see if he could get me an even trade but no one had my bows duplicate in a lower weight. After a bit of thought he offered me a bow I Could draw. I hesitated but accepted (better have a bow I can use than one I couldn't) worried that I had been ripped off- I researched the new bow against the one I had given to him and he gave me a MAJOR upgrade. I couldn't figure out why he would do that but he did. My old bow was a Bear and the one he gave me is a Hoyt. I am SO glad I went to Buck Stop! He seriously saved my butt on this one! Thanks guys! I cannot say enough about everyone at this operation. My experience with everyone has been wonderful. This time of year they are exceptionally busy and yet they take the time to educate and answer questions. There are people of all skill levels in the store looking for guidance and they are kind and patient to all. I value the service and expertise they bring to the table. People can always find something for a little less or get a "Deal" on the internet only to find that the front end guidance is worth way more than the "Savings" they thought they got. I had a friend buy a bow this way only to find it did not fit him properly and now he has a great deal on a bow for someone other than himself. I agree with the other negative reviews from other sites. This is obviously a "hobby turned to business" which explains the lack of customer service experience. I am not the only one that noticed the owners poor attitude towards customers. He is not interested in helping customers with anything outside of buying his merchandise. I'll never go here again!!!! Went there for some info on my compound bow. The string started to unravel. The tech was very help ful and informative. He said he could rewarp it for $15.00. After he started the work, and had cut and taken the string and cable apart , the manager told me it would be $125.00 for new componnts. I told them to put everything back together and would be on my way. He said he couldn't . Now I have an inoperable bow and an looking for a new repair shop. Be ware, all they keep telling me was I needed a new bow. TOTAL UP SALE ATMOSPHERE. Never again !!!!!! read more
