Came here recently before going to visit Hells Gate. Bowling is a dying hobby over in the city and it's sad seeing a majority of them go away. This place definitely blew my expectations! I really love this place because it's more than just a bowling alley, it's got a Pro shop, it's got a restaurant and a bar! It's a one stop shop for all your entertainment! The bowling alley is very modern, the screens are interactive and personalization options are phenomenal. The staff is very friendly, great prices on games, shoe rentals, food too. Bathrooms are decently maintained. This bowling alley definitely reminds me of the one the that used to be over by 83rd Cicero way back in the day. Favorite place to bowl! The youth scholarship program is great for kids and their summer bowling programs are a parents wish! I think it's great that they have 8 lanes with Kegels torch and specto to analyze your game and help you reach your goals! Best Friday night league! We had my daughters 4th birthday here, so thankful they could accommodate us with less than a weeks notice. They were very attentive and treated us like it was their own party. The pizza was delicious, and adult beverages are reasonably priced. Looking forward to returning for a family night. read more

I go here for school bowling. It's not the best place in the world, but it deserves some credit. I did notice, that every-time I bowl, some bowling balls come out scratched. Others don't. If you bring your own ball, make sure its a good material. Other than that, lets talk about the area. First off, i feel like they are wasting space. Also, the place is old, really just worn out. First, carpet is pretty old and my question is, out of all the designs, rainbow star things? They're's a whole karate room- i feel like that could be removed. If they remove that wall, they can move the arcade games there. The bowling shoes are worn out too. There are many children here, so how about you guys make another area for adults' drinking, kids are here! There's room for lots of renovations, but it does the job! 8/10 read more

Nice bowling center, Lanes are well maintained Not a fancy as some of the new bowling but a nice local place to bowl, enjoy a beer or two. The lounge offer has live music on Friday nights, video gaming machines are in the lounge. Reasonable drink prices. George's restaurant is in same building with 7/24 dining and can be accessed with out going outside the building. Nice family friendly venue for bowling. read more

I asked for a pitcher of water and was told it is $3.50 or $1.50 for a bottle. I was part of a group, and when I informed them of that, they put a pitcher under the faucet and filled it. I'm still floored that a pitcher of tap water costs $3.50. Please explain to me how that works, considering that the water in Lockport isn't the best quality either. Terrible!!! read more

This is your average local bowling alley. It is not new and updated and you won't come here just for the bar. But the bowling isn't expensive and the beer flows fairly cheaply too. They have bands at the bar which aren't too bad, sometimes. The one big thing I have to say for this place is that they really keep the lanes up. I have been coming here since I was a kid and don't remember seeing a warped or gouged lane. And they are always pretty well waxed. Strike N Spare II is a good bowling alley if you are going to bowl. It's not too difficult to accidentally have a few buckets of beer. But you probably won't be coming here just to hang out. There is no trendy bar here. They also do cosmic bowling which is always a hoot. and have a game room with pool tables. There are at least four tables (if I recall correctly) and I believe they are real tables not the smaller "bar" tables. I've been coming here for years now and I'd like to give this place four or more stars but it is time for an update. The decor and atmosphere of the old town bowling alley are only so quaint and charming for so long. What it needs is a serious face lift. A new coat of paint aint going to pretty up this pig. read more

Callled two days prior to confirm they had open bowl during a time frame that fit our family's needs. We were trying just have a small one lane birthday gathering and they said on the phone their leagues start early evening on Saturday and we should be good to bowl until 5-5:30pm. So Saturday we drive from out of town as other closer alleys have events going on and don't have open bowl during the day. We arrive and 38 lanes in the alley with most open. Younger gentleman at front desk says we should be good to bowl. Five of the family go inside and then another employee says there are no openings until 10pm. The PTA is hosting an event and using all the lanes until leagues start. Well I'm all for the PTA and great events for kids but if they didn't know about the event Thursday, how could they fill the place. So obviously some kind of miscommunication with their staff Thursday being unaware of the schedule for the weekend. However extremely disappointing to have a birthday event, drive from out of town then be told no there is no open bowl. Even after doing our due diligence two days earlier calling to confirm they would have openings. Was our first attempt going there and likely our last. -Dissapointed read more

This place is a dump. Usually we bowl at Brunswick Zone in Woodridge, but a buddy wanted to check this place out. Totally dead for a Sunday evening, several of want appeared to be the "locals" in the lounge area. Super limited selection of any kind if beer. They have bud and Coors if that's your fancy though. Bartender was an older lady and we asked if they have any craft beers, and she brought out a Peroni. She was able to find one Lagunitas OPS, so I had one. We ordered a pizza and got going with bowling. Last year I bought a ball and bag at Brunswick Zone and this was the second time using it. After several frames I noticed that the ball was getting all marked up. I showed it to a local guy and he said, that's not right have them move you off this alley and they should fix the ball. I took the ball to the desk and spoke with Chris the manager. He proceeded to tell me that this is what happens when you throw a ball at a live of metal. He said he has worked at bowling alleys since he was 5 years old and he knows. I said this does not seem right, I just got this ball, and then he interrupted and said sir that ball is over 5 years old. I said no it is not, I paid over 200 bucks for this ball and bag at Brunswick Zone. He then said, well then you got raped. I could not believe that he would actually say that. I asked for the general managers name and will be contacting him today. When we left he tried to apologize, but still was of the opinion that this is normal. I let him know that he really needs a class in customer service. There is a reason that this place is empty on an evening when you can't get a lane anywhere else. It is because they suck! read more

We live in Joliet and usually went to another alley but they didn't offer Kids Bowl for Free so we signed up at Strike and spare and went for the first time the other day. My kids and I enjoyed our time there. We went on a Thursday around noon and there were probably bowlers on 10-12 lanes out of 38. The staff was pleasant and attentive. It's an older alley and maybe some like the more expensive, newer places but this is bowling. It has an old school vibe that feels right. They have good specials during the week if you are bowling without kids. You can get a family pass for only like $30 and have 4 adults bowel 2 games for free per day all summer. Shoes extra. We had pizza and it was okay. It wasn't great but it's what I expected. It came out quick and hot and the kids will eat anything. The electronic scoring is good. The music was good. We didn't have any issues. We'll be back many times for sure. read more
