I made an appointment through Zocdoc with NP Joshi. I even called after to confirm it. An hour later the girl at the front desk called me to reschedule because I was double booked with another patient. I told her I cannot reschedule because it's my only day off. She spoke with the provider and the provider said she would see me if I came in right at 1pm. So, I said okay that's fine. I went in and the two girls up front were very unpleasant. And the one I checked in with handed me new paperwork then said I had to change my PCP with my insurance or I wouldn't be seen @ 1. Why didn't they say or explain this when they called me before? I wasted my time to drive there just to be told they wouldn't see me. It's very unprofessional especially coming from someone that works in the healthcare field for 9 years. I'm sure the providers are wonderful but the two ladies in the front need to take customer service classes and have more empathy. They could at least smile when the patients check in. read more

The worst experience ever. Do NOT use these doctors. I waited over an hour and was never seen. I was told to show up a half hour early to fill out paperwork which I never received even though I did ask twice for the paperwork. The 3 receptionist were very rude and too busy playing on the phones. After a hour of waiting I was told to pay my co pay before I could have my paperwork. I refused and walked out. I can see these doctors are more concerned about the money than their patients. Nobody should ever have wait over a hour especially if they had an early appointment. I will find a new doctor who cares about their patients and not double or triple book their patients. read more

The only reason why I am rating them so low is that I cannot ever get a hold of them. They NEVER answer their phones and when I follow their prompt to leave a message and get a callback, I rarely receive that. I feel that It is important to be able to call and talk to a representative at the Dr.'s office so that I know exactly what I am doing. They want you to make all your appointments online, but it is hard because I don't know who to pick that best suits my medical needs. I would like to give them more stars because when I was seen by one of the nurses it was excellent, but I can't. They wanted me to call and schedule a follow on appointment but I can never get a hold of them to do it. It is wasting my time and is a nuisance to have to drive to their location each time I want to schedule an appointment or talk to an individual. read more

This place has gone way down hill and the process begins from the phone call. Melissa will dump you immediately to hold and never come back... not even a word. Called back and finally was told to wait 5 minutes, 25 minutes later still not picking up. Now she screens my calls and sends me to the voicemail instead. All I'm trying to do is refill a script. My first visits with Stripes were always positive, however, my last visit in March 2022 with Yva Jean-Marc NP was the worst experience I ever had with a provider, and I will never go back to this place, I guess I was one of the unlucky patients seen at the end of the day and she showed her frustration, disrespect, and uncaring and unethical manner on me. While in the office I also noticed the MAs or secretaries, talking negatively about patients, using foul language, and breaking HIPAA and Protected health information (PHI) as they loudly name patients' full names, and showed their frustration with insurance and patients, which that is their job, that's why they get paid for. The provider also was biased, in a rush, and was dismissing anything I had to say, she made me feel embarrassed, fearful, upset, and depressed for the things she said to me, out of her clear ignorance and poor patient manners. read more

Dr. O was amazing! She answered all my questions and spent the necessary time with me and had genuine concern for my health. I am a Coumadin client and I no longer have to go to Coumadin clinic to get my levels checked. Also there is a phlebotomist in the office. No longer do I need to go wait in long lines early in the morning and be late for work in order to get my labs done. So convenient. I love the staff. They are courteous and find out the answers. I am a nurse and would recommend this office and Dr. O to anyone. I only recently had to change physicians because my previous physician of 25 years retired. After my experience with Stripes, I am no longer sad about it. read more

I really love how they sent me an appointment reminder on 8/17/2017 for my appointment on 8/22/2017 and when I show up it's been cancelled because that particular doctor is no longer with them! The last time it was the doctor called off. I don't have the time to be running down there only not to have an appointment anymore! Last year we set it up with Dr. Chris for him to be our primary care physician. This year, my husband had a bad cold that just kept getting worse. He went in to Stripes to see a doctor. He got prescriptions, but no diagnosis, no temp nor lung X-rays were taken which they can do there. He was just sent home. Three hours later he collapsed at home with a fever of 103.4 and had to be taken to the hospital by the EMTS. He spent two days in the hospital with double pneumonia! We went back in two weeks after his release to make sure he was recuperating okay. We also wanted to know why he wasn't diagnosed at the time. All Dr. Chris would say is he wasn't there to talk about before, what did we want from him today. Not feeling safe with this practice! We'll be changing. read more

I have been with him for about a year and he is attentive and takes his time to really get to know you and how he can help. My First visit with Vincent Noriega was good. My visits after that all downhill. I was unlucky enough to get a 430pm visit time. last person to be seen. Let me just say i get that at the end of the day, your tired and want to go home. Anyway, we went a few x-rays but i was not able to ask any questions. I was able to get a referral for one of them and when i asked about what could be causing me pain by simply extending my arm his response was, I don't know. Ask the surgeon when you go for your referral maybe he can help you. So, I say I just have one more question for you, and the response of "no more questions, these visits are to cover 1-2 things, we can talk about your next question during your follow up, let's say sometime in august. He was already walking out the door while telling me this. So, my February visit was my last until august...7 minute visit. at this time all the lights are out and I'm the last one in the building. So, as i get up and get to the door to stop him to ask about something that was supposed to have been ordered he ended up just arguing with me and yelling at me. Crazy. Normally i wouldn't care and just let it go, but I would not recommend anyone to go see him. read more

I am looking for a Primary Care office that listens to the patient, close to home, and isn't a huge medical clinic. I thought I found it here. I was in need of a pre-op release for a surgical procedure. Unfortunately this isn't my first rodeo with surgery's, so I was looking for someone who not only works with me, but also with other medical providers in a positive follow through. My first impression was awesome, office staff was kind, professional and treated you like a person not a number. Unfortunately when I left the exam room and proceeded to be Checked out, I was then informed that NOTHING was going to be sent to my surgeon, until I came back to review blood work. I have never ever had this take place before. My surgeons office has been calling the office and faxing the office for all my clearance paperwork and hasn't received anything from this office, I even called Stripes Office, they advised me on two separate calls that information was sent to the surgeon. Today I went to the office, paid my co-pay In order to have my pre-ob clearance sent to my surgeon. Why?? Only to get more money from the insurance company and the patient? There was no need for such non sense. If there is / was a concern with labs or tests performed and once the office received the results a call could have been made to the patient and informed of the need to be seen and or what the results were. I was upset that I had to demand that the reports be sent with me present to know that it was completed, and of course another glitch they couldn't, but Natasha promised me a call, as soon as the papers were sent successfully, I did receive that call 45 minutes later. I am hoping that this is a one time thing, I'll give the office another try when I need them, and will revisit this post. read more

I don't like leaving reviews, but this place is so bad it should be shut down. I'm actually surprised they have a 2.5 star rating, it should be much lower. I've only gone for about a year, but they have ran me off. Great job Stripes! From day one, I walked in and they quoted my insurance to me that they never received from me, it was my first visit and it was an insurance I've never had. The front desk staff are so disrespectful and incompetent. I have to be seen every 3 months for blood work and they would book me at the wrong locations, then blame me, did not receive lab work or other Simon Med imaging even though reports were sent from the provider. (I honestly think the staff have no clue how to do anything - it seems they have had no training). I have been on thyroid medication for over 20 years and because of their negligence, I have run out until I can see someone else. As most know, you should not go without taking meds, even if you do stop it shouldn't be immediate, it should be gradual. I have attended my appointments every time, followed through on all their suggestions and this is where I end up. They have NO care in the world. I know that doctors take an oath, but apparently medical staff can treat patients disrespectfully. And they don't answer their phones! Just disconnect them - it would be easier for everyone! If I didn't have problems before, I do now because they have caused me much stress and my blood pressure to sky rocket. Shame on them. read more

Checked in at 1:20pm my apppintment was at 1:40pm. I am waiting. About 2:00pm front receptionist says doctor running behind. It's 2:40pm already and it's been an hour already that I've been waiting for me to be taken back. Ask front office how much longer. They say you have two people infoent of you in the back so I ask how much longer and she says ok not sure. Worse customer service and not to mention you shouldn't be waiting this long to be seen. On top of another 30-45 minutes you have to wait in the back clinic to be seen still. Ridiculous. They need to manager their time slots better read more

Incompetence or Bait and Switch / Fraud When I called to make an appointment with Dr. "O" and Stripes Primary Care, I specifically told the appointment setter that I wanted an annual physical. When I showed up, I waited over an hour before I was seen by the Dr. As the intake nurse brought me back to the room and to take my vitals, she asked what I was there for today. I replied an annual physical. Apparently, the annual physical detail was not relayed to the doctor as she made no notes about a physical, only that I was there for an office visit. Thus, my visit was not covered by my insurance provider as a free annual physical and I now have a balance due. I called and spoke with Britni the Billing Manager and Elizabeth the Office Manager. Neither would admit fault, accept responsibility or show any empathy for the failed communication on the part of their staff. When I asked Elizabeth for documentation of our discussion, she was resistive. They even tried to coerce me back in for another appointment where they would "make sure it was labeled as an annual physical". I ain't bright but I am not falling for that ruse again. I am still not sure if this is a case of incompetence or if this is the type of Bait and Switch or Fraud campaign they run often. Maybe they make more money from "an office visit" than they would for an "annual physical"? As a warning, do not trust anything they say here without documentation. Their business card says "Your health comes first". That is BS because they don't give a damn! read more

I've been going to Dr. Chikwendu for approximately 2-3 years now. His office has gotten worse over time. I went in today to get my results on X-rays that were taken by Simonmed imaging several weeks back. He barely spent anytime with me or explained the report that was sent to his office regarding the images that were taken. I had to read the report myself and google several words to understand what was reported. I became very concern After reading the report. It sounds like whatever is going on with me needs to be addressed possibly by a specialist. He did not recommend that I see one. All that was said is that my weight may be a cause. I called his office couple hrs after being seen and was told his assistant would be able to help me. When I finally got through to her, she seemed clueless as to what was going on. Unfortunately, after spending about 5 minutes explain my concerns she couldn't help. I have no clue what to do. I'm going to have to ditch out another $100 to go see a specialist which is not cool. I'm extremely upset with the way this was handled. Will be looking for another primary care doctor. read more

I have been going to SPC for a while now and found a good staff to treat people they way they would want to be treated. UNITIL, Dr. Chris Nwowowowsu step in my room. Never met him in my life, apparently he is the MD at SPC. He walks in says very little as I wish to get my meds refilled for ADHD. He asks me if I did drugs, smoked marijane or anything else. Never have I been asked that up til now. I told him no and I have a few beers every once in a while. Then he says if you pass this drug test you can have your medication. WHAT? Where the hell did that come from?? Now suddenly Im a druggie? Of course passed the drug test, but Dr. Nowowosu should have a little more respect for his patients. I would give less than 1 star if I could. This is absolutely ridiculous! A year ago they were great. Now they schedule 2 to 4 patients for the exact same time, then tell you first one here goes first ,as though it's a restaurant, or a gas station. I set anappointment! I arrived today very early and have waited over an hour and 30 minutes just for a prescription refill that requires a new script, that he was supposed to write last week when I was here. , Anything for an additional $25.00 co pay.The office staff used to be extremely friendly and competent. Now they will lie directly to your face saying this doesn't happen often, which it has 3 times in last month! And are rude and uncaring. Went to see Dr Nwosu (aka Dr Chris) for an immigration medical. The medical itself cost a fair bit ($300) which I think is a bit pricer than what I got a sense of from the rest of the market. Other medicals cost anywhere from $190 to $300. I went with Stripes Primary care because they were able to see me quickly and had the patience to answer my questions when I called them. Dr Chris and his staff were all very very helpful. They turned the medical report around quickly and professionally. Special shout out to "Lily" and "Alex" who were both just amazing. It's establishments like these that restore confidence in the health care business. So, 1 star down because I think the price could be improved slightly but otherwise great!! I go the Apache Junction office. I finally found a great doctor. Dr. Gage She actually listened to me and actually seemed to care. She discovered a big mistake my prior Dr. Had made in my prescriptions. She seemed very intelligent, and for the first time in my life, I didn't feel like I was just a number. Thank you! This review is in regards to the Mesa location on Ellsworth. First the front desk is horrible. They talk more about what they did on the weekend then helping patients that need assistance. They are also fresh out of school by the looks of it. Second, I go in for strep spend over 200 just to find out I'm allergic to the medication the doc prescribed me. They never answer their phones so you have to constantly call and don't bother leaving a message because they don't call you back. So here's what happened. I go in for strep, I get a rocephin shot after testing positive then get prescribed antibiotics. My appt was at 1:10, didn't get seen until almost 2:30. I had to change my pharmacy with the front desk, literally took them over 10 min to do that. While I'm waiting for them to do so I have to sit down because I feel light headed from the shot or my high fever. They don't even offer to help me or ask if I am ok. That night I woke up to a swollen throat and tongue. I could hardly breath or swallow, it was worse than the day before. I call the office so they can let the provider know, I called over 6 times and finally got ahold of someone, 3 hours later they tell me to go to ER. I was already heading that because I couldn't take the pain. I call the next day because I took another pill from what she prescribed me and woke up with hives. I called them at 8 am! And didn't even get a call back. I called them the entire day, finally at 4 pm they answer. The girl tells me yes she responded and wants you to come in for an appt. ummm ok it's now 4 pm and why didn't anyone call me ? I have gone all day without medication and missed work. Just be careful when you come here. Unless it's a fast appt with nothing complicated they will not be the best at patient care. read more

Absolutely a waste of time!!!! You go in and pay a co pay they cant actually do anything in house so they send you somewhere else which you then pay anothwr co pay and bill. I used to really like Dr. Chris and went to Stripes Primary Care for about year. They did blood work in the office (Sonora Quest) which was really nice. Danielle was absolutely amazing and one of the most caring phlebotomists I've ever met. Dr. Chris seemed pretty knowledgeable and the front office was ok. Then about a year ago things started getting bad. I was misdiagnosed and ignored, sent to see the PA when I clearly asked for and was scheduled with Dr. Chris. My concerns were dismissed, even though I'd been to the ER that week and was told to follow up with my PCP. After several visits during the month, an urgent care doctor finally said I should go to the hospital to be checked for a DVT. Turns out I had a DVT and PE resulting in a very costly 3 day hospital stay. Had someone listened a month earlier, much of this could have been avoided. After I was released, I was put on blood thinners and Dr. Chris said he would monitor my INR levels. I told him how upset and angry I was over all the issues, and he actually apologized and asked for a second chance. I didn't have time to find another doctor and he said they could monitor my INR levels. Only after I left his office did I find out that normal INR checks take less than 10 minutes at Banner. I'm not a huge fan of Banner either, but the anticoagulation clinic is great. When I had my INR checked with Dr. Chris, I really should have only needed a nurse, but the whole process took nearly 2 hours. Again, I had nothing to compare it to so I didn't know any better, but I know now that he was just wanting more money. The INR monitoring at Stripes cost nearly $100/visit and at Banner it was closer to $30/visit. To make matters worse, Stripes kept billing my insurance incorrectly, and using "Stripes" instead of the doctor's name so it came back as "out of network." Despite us reminding them of the error, apparently nothing changed. Then after about 6-8 months we got a bill threatening to turn it over to collections. Keep in mind that after the initial bill, I had received nothing. No bills, no letters, no phone calls. So I assumed it was taken care of on their end. To get that kind of threatening bill was uncalled for. It took numerous phone calls and messages to finally get it resolved because they rarely answer the phone at all anymore and don't always return phone calls. I haven't been back since last October and have found a new doctor. read more

I was told they took my insurance on my first appointment and on my second was told they do not. I was unable to speak with the Doctor about my results. I have just recently moved to the area. I needed to find a physician for something I suspected I had. When I went in at the Gold Canyon location Dr. Curtis (last name I cannot remember) was the physician for the day. I got there for 9 a.m. and waited until 10 to be called in to a room. The lobby atmosphere was okay. The secretary in the front wasn't personable. The blonde nurse who called me in was nice. Then about 15 minutes later, the doctor came in. He walked in without a smile and sat down in the stool without making eye contact. He asked a couple questions, did a basic ear, throat, lung, and bowel movement check. He did not put on gloves and took the the cap that goes into your ears off with his fingers. How many others does he do that with? I can tell he was forcing his conversation as making the patient feel like their being listened to is protocol, but there was no compassion. He was half there. I had to fill the silences with conversation. He did not advise me about the medication or what exactly it was. Later, I found out it is a new drug on the market. Is that suppose to make me feel better? At the end of the day, this is a business and a horrible one all around. I would not bring yourself to get treated here. I'd rather drive two hours away for a doctor that makes me feel like they care and they want to help without handing off a prescription and leaving the room. read more

Appointment made 1 week ago to see Dr. Chris. I instead had to see the PA/NA. No one notified me of this change at all. Very frustrated as my father is very ill with the flu and pneumonia. PA/NA very knowledgeable and helped my father immediately with treatment. Office employees very understaffed and struggled to assist everyone. Our wait time was over 1 hour. Not acceptable..! Will give Stripes a couple more tries - if nothing changes may go somewhere else. read more
