Thankfully we have been make the trip out to Dr. Gradous for almost 9 years now so that wasn't an issue. I do use the word "trip" because it is just that. Depending on where you are coming from, it can be anywhere from a 30 to 60 minute drive. But it is worth it. The building and parking lot are small, as is Dr. Gradous. But don't let that fool you. He is straight forward in his instructions (i.e. "no Ole Roy") and has been known to treat animals much better than humans on a regular basis. And that's why we don't go anywhere else. He will speak softly to them and treat them with the utmost care when they enter his presence. This reputation has preceded so much that getting an appointment can be a challenge, so plan ahead. He does this because for the animals, as he has attempted to retire twice already but obviously is still there. His costs for medicine, shots, and appointments are the lowest you will find. Also, right next door his daughter runs the grooming and boarding. The entire team is top notch. I honestly have no idea what we will do when he stays retired.

When the Aiken vet that my husband's family has used for 20+ years, proved it was not a worthy vet, I decided that All God's Creatures would be the place that we would go, no matter how far I had to drive. He had dental surgery scheduled yesterday morning and I called them on Friday to ask if they would be reaching out to let us know of any changes in operating hours on Monday because of the weather. I was assured that they would let me know. Drove 45 minutes and I arrived for surgery at 7:40 AM and nobody was there. I called the only phone number that they have with no answer, knocked on the door and I sat there until 815. There was no way I was going to drive home immediately so I went looking on Facebook to see if there was somebody, anybody that I could reach out to to find out what was going on. I don't follow them on Facebook. And right there was a post saying that they were not going to open until 10:00 AM due to the weather and they would reach out to reschedule via their Facebook page and email. I checked my email and there was nothing. Nohing in junk mail, no phone calls, voicemails, texts. Nothing. Drove another 45 minutes to take my dog home and get myself to work. I'm at work for 30 minutes and I get a phone call asking me to bring him in "now" at which time I explained to her what happened and it was completely blown over. I left work and I went home and got my dog, drove to Augusta again and I took him in. While there I explained to someone else what happened and it again was completely disregarded. "They were supposed to email the cancellations". BUT YOU DIDN'T! And WHY would an email be a sufficient means in which to cancel a surgery??? Not only do I not get notifications for my emails, I don't look at them daily. So even if I had gotten one I wouldn't have known. She tells me they're gonna start the surgery in about 30 minutes and I should get a phone call around 2 PM. Updating me about how it went. I didn't receive any phone call anywhere around 2 o'clock so sometime around 3:30 I started calling to see what was going on. ALL DAY FROM THE MOMENT I TRIED TO DROP HIM OFF I MADE 22 calls and not one was answered. No compensation, no sincere apology, NOTHING. Well, I have a big mouth and I will run it about this interaction until the end of my days when anything involving veterinary care comes up with anyone I'm talking to. For seven years, I've told people about the amazing visits that we've had there and that's over. The staff that you had is clearly not the staff that you have now. My husband also said when he picked him up that the girl at the front was not friendly at all. Also, at our pre-surgical appointment the tech that came into the room was grossly picking food out of her back molars with her fingers after she walked into the room. Gross. And maybe don't do that. On a positive note, it was cheaper than the quote we got at the overrated Aiken Vet and my dog is alive and doing well today.

In the last three…read moreyears I've spent probably thousands of dollars and many trips to the vet for various cat ailments and check ups. Some in Pennsylvania and some here in the CSRA. At almost all of them I've been disappointed in the cost and lack of expense disclosure before a service is done, but it's also just a hassle to get scheduled for things that aren't super emergent but also can't wait for a month. CSRA Life Saver is a low cost preventative vet clinic. That means they do not treat sick animals, and they can't prescribe much other than some preventative flea/tick/heart worm medicines and dewormers. What they DO offer is walk in appointments (they do not schedule ahead except for spay/neuter surgeries), vaccines, microchips, pet health maintenance (like ear mite cleaning, deworming, nail trims, etc). Their prices are listed clearly online and in the office, and they require that you fill out a form ahead of time and clearly mark which services you want that day. When you arrive, you fill that out first (or you can print it at home and bring it in) then go in to the desk and sign in. By the number of chairs I saw, the wait can get long at times but both times I've been so far there was very little wait. Because they do minimal services, appointments don't last very long and they can see a lot of people. Their prices are the lowest I've found by a LOT and they seem interested in just doing what they can to help animals and owners in a timely manner. The office itself is pretty simple- it's an old house type building converted to an office. There is some indoor waiting room area but many chairs on the porch for overflow. I did not accompany my cat into the exam room and didn't see other owners do that either, so just be ready for that. They take cards and cash. The only issue I've had is the microchip I got on my kitten seems to have moved from the shoulder blade location I assumed they inserted it at, but I think that's more likely my kitten being a little underweight for his age (a recent stray we took in). I wish they had mentioned prior to the microchipping that you can't bathe the animal for a few days, and now with the movement of the chip I wish I'd waited to get that done til they neuter him or something but it's too late now. Overall, the prices cannot be beat and they offer helpful guidance on saving money and getting what's best for your pet.

Dr Tribby and his staff are knowledgeable, professional, and took great care of our babies. They went above and beyond to do micro testing for my kitty whose ears have been bothering her, got us the results and antibiotic drops before we left. Check ups and full vaccination boosters as well as the test and additional treatment for one of our cats under $450 is very reasonable. We will be gladly returning and I recommend this facility to pet owners in the area. My only complaint is that they had 2 large peace lily plants in the treatment room, which are pretty well known to be toxic to cats. Not sure why they would choose to have that in a vet office. Other than that it was a great experience!

Dr. Henderson went as far is lying to me about the law changing in prescribing controlled substances. I contacted DEA and the South Carolina veterinarian board. As a back up I called the vet at North Augusta animal Hospital. Dr. Henderson lied. And yet they will not even answer my email and give me an explanation. Oh I shouldn't forget to tell you about the chiropractic adjustment they did on of my animals WITHOUT my knowledge. This place is an absolute joke! Hammond Hills Animal Hospital saved our dog's life and her leg…read more Four weeks ago today, our Labrador, Luna, suffered a devastating injury while fetching a ball. She deeply cut her front leg on a glass landscape light and the injury was severe with profuse bleeding. Because she was bleeding so heavily, we did not have time to make the 45-minute drive to our regular veterinarian or call ahead to find one nearby. Instead, we rushed her to Hammond Hills Animal Hospital, just a couple of minutes from our home. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. While my wife held pressure, I ran inside to ask for help. They immediately sent Morgan to meet us in the parking lot. She applied pressure bandages to help control the bleeding and helped us get Luna safely inside. The staff dropped what they were doing and rushed her into surgery. After a long and complex operation performed by Dr. Rutt and the surgical team, we learned that Luna had severed two arteries, numerous veins, muscles, and a tendon on the back of her front leg beneath her carpal pad. It was a serious injury, and we knew her recovery would be a long one. Over the past four weeks, the team at Hammond Hills has been with us every step of the way. Every injury--and every dog--is different, but they continually adjusted Luna's treatment plan as she healed. They patiently taught us how to change her bandages at home, offered new ideas when challenges arose, guided us through home sedation, infections, complications, and were always available to answer questions and make changes when needed. Their expertise, compassion, and encouragement gave Luna the best possible chance to recover. Today, four weeks later, Luna is making wonderful progress, and we couldn't be more grateful. We feel like we didn't just find an outstanding veterinary hospital--we found a team of people who genuinely care about their patients and the families who love them. We now have complete confidence in Hammond Hills and they now care for all of our pets. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rutt, Morgan, Jennifer, Brooke, Christine, Kent, and especially Karen.
