The guidelines for reopening gyms require face covering for all employees and members unless it is medically not possible. I witnessed at least 4 members who had their masks off! Even though some of the cardio machines are 14 ft apart, these people leave that location to get cleaning supplies or move on to another area and are unmasked. I have been to another Planet Fitness out of state, and every member, regardless of what piece of equipment they were using or machine they were on, all wore masks! It is very inconvenient for all of us to wear masks but we need to think of others and be safe!

Because my health and conditioning improved so much, I wondered where Bob taught live lessons. Turned out he taught at Studio Helix in Northampton, MA. My hat is off to residents in that area because they can get a good teacher in the flesh, while I live in Los Angeles and can only replay his videos over and over. Students wanting a good Pilates teacher can get one by visiting Studio Helix and signing up for Bob Hannum's classes. He's got the Pilates principles insight, pace and movement training, experience with students at all levels and abilities, and expertise to win my trust and confidence as a continued student. I do Pilates for me, but would go to Studio Helix for the live teacher experience and group motivation. If you make the effort to get to the studio and take B. Hannum's Pilates class, don't underestimate the value of teacher observation and feedback in your learning process, especially when students doing physical exercises can be off or develop little bad habits. To be able to follow his pace is another benefit of being there.

I have not have to wear an elbow brace to do the same exercises that I do in my gym regularly. His advice worked well. It, not only, diminished the pain in my elbow but the pain has not been coming back or increasing. The pain has been constantly decreasing. Pain relapse in my elbow had always been a problem. My past providers, except my PCP/ortho doctor who was a big joke, would do ultrasound and soft tissues in my elbow and arm. The pain would subside but they would all come back after a few days, some longer than others. Dr. Brady was the only one who did not even touch my arm or my elbow in treating my elbow pain (official diagnosis of my pcp/ortho was right medial epicondylitis). He worked on my chest muscles and posture to address my elbow pain. To him, my elbow was not the problem. To him, my elbow was telling me that I have problems somewhere else. My knee has also been constantly improving ever since he taught me how to walk and stand properly -- again, it was the posture. My back is the only one that has been a bit stubborn (like its owner) but it is also improving. The stretch exercises that he taught me for my back complements well the back stretches that Matt Shaw of the BU Athletic Enhancement Center taught me. The combined stretches from these people seem to be the best fit for my back problem (hopefully) currently. I like the fact that he is a very approachable person. He does answer my questions via e-mail on his own time (without additional charges or complaints from him).

The class was small which meant each student got personalized attention for their bodies. The other two students were regulars and Kim seamlessly incorporated specific instructions for each of them into her teaching, and then helped me make adjustments. It was the perfect balance of accepting me where I was and pushing me outside my comfort zone. And damn was I sore today, in all the right places! Many of them went through the professional track program at the New England Center for Circus Arts, are members of the professional circus organizations, and are active in furthering their circus education and training both on their own and through the studio. They go through monthly staff training as well as additional off-site trainings to constantly improve their skills and give a high quality, recreational circus education for students of all ages, body types, fitness levels, skill levels, races, economic backgrounds, etc. 3) Show is a recreational space. They don't expect you to do back flips when you walk in the door or even after your finish classes. You progress through a carefully planned out and studio standardized curriculum and are going at your own pace. This means you aren't forced through a leveling up system, but take a class until you're ready to move on to more advanced skills. In this way, your only competition is with yourself. 4) If other reviewers think the space is dirty and poorly organized, I recommend going in and checking out the space for yourself. Chris, the co-owner, does an amazing job of organizing the space along with Henry, the other co-owner. The lobby is GORGEOUS and the studio itself is perfect for recreational circus skills - vibrant colors, clean, and rigged to perfection for easy changes between classes. I'm very impressed. I highly recommend SHOW to anyone, especially to the LGBTQIA community - as SHOW and its staff are strong allies to the community. Some courses look amazing on websites, but then disappoint in real life. This one looks incredible…read moreon the website... then lives up to it in real life, and then some. I make sure to go out at least once a year to play 36 holes. So I have probably played over 200 courses in my lifetime, and this is my favorite of them all. A true player's course, full of subtleties that can only be appreciated by good golfers. Every single hole is unique, there's not one single throwaway hole out of the 18. Every par 3 is an absolute gem, and it has 4 of the most interesting par 5's you've ever seen. This is not meant to shortchange the par 4's, which are also all very different and challenging. As beautiful as this course is, the greens are where the men are separated from the boys at the Crump. And if you're not in the correct section of the green with your approach, good luck 2-putting. It's as true a test of golfing ability as you'll find in New England. If you can break 80 here, you can probably shoot even par anywhere else. And for such a spectacular course, the people that work there are incredibly friendly and low-key. I've been to countless courses in New England (e.g. Wachusett and Shaker Hills) that can't hold a candle to Crump, where the uppity staff acts as if they're running Augusta. You get none of that arrogance here. The staff is as charming as the course. There is really only one thing I would add to improve the experience. GPS carts. There are several partially blind shots where it would really help out, especially regarding approach shots to elevated greens. The greens all have their own unique shape and if you don't know them, it's near impossible to know where to put the ball on the approach. So if you want to see a course you'll never forget, take the drive out to Bernardston and check it out. If you don't instantly fall in love with this course (especially in the fall where the foliage is simply phenomenal), you should find another sport. Lastly, a few words of warning... 1. Don't try to walk this course in the summer heat. I did it once, but will never do it again. Take a cart. 2. This course is geared towards very good golfers. I'd say if you're above a 15 handicap, do not torture yourself trying to play this course.
