After more than ten years as a loyal Strosnider customer, I'm very disappointed with my recent visit. I had a 2:30 p.m. appointment with Service Advisor Trevis for an oil change and state inspection. When I mentioned the complimentary tire rotation that's always been included, he insisted it was never free and added a $15 charge. Later, I was informed my total was $150.36--nearly 50% higher than I've ever paid for the same services. When I requested an itemization of my charges Trevis mentioned a $50 labor charge for the oil change, which had never been billed before. To confirm, I called Stephanie, who usually schedules my appointments. She verified that last year I paid $102 for the exact same services and that tire rotations have always been included. She also admitted customers were supposed to be notified of new pricing, but I was never informed. I then spoke with Mike (service manager), explained my concern, and requested an adjustment to my bill. He declined, saying oil prices had doubled and labor charges increased from $40.00 to $50.00 since last year and that the charges would stand. I mentioned that, had I known about the increase, I would have gone elsewhere. His response: "I'm sorry, but this is what you owe." Feeling dejected, I just paid the bill as is. Incidentally the assertion that a 50% price increase is linked to rising oil costs is demonstrably false. In reality, oil prices have experienced a significant decline, falling from an average of $72.29 per barrel in November 2024 to $60.13 per barrel by November 2025. This factual data renders the claim of oil price inflation as the driver of the price hike a baseless fabrication. When I refused to sign the invoice due to disagreement with the charges, Mike told me I couldn't retrieve my vehicle without signing--I mentioned my signing the invoice is an agreement to the charges and because I don't agree, I will not sign. The entire exchange felt dismissive and unprofessional. After a decade of loyalty, I left feeling overcharged, misled, and disrespected. I won't be returning. read more

I got tired of having stress and worry about waking up to go to work or even to the grocery store, so I decided to put that behind me and get out there and shop for a car. Although I didn't want a note not did i want to go through the process of doing all paperwork and process of getting a car but I said just do it. I went to strosnider where I had the opportunity to work with Greg Davis. I test drove the car I had been looking at. We had a pleasant conversation he tried to save me money by asking about a trade in. We got back to strodnidor from the test drive and I walked in those door feeling relieved that I was going to drive off the lot in the car I came for. Working with Greg was the easy part for me the hard part was waiting for the banks because I brought my kids who have little patience and after about 2hours they were ready to go! Came here for the oil change. It took me a few trips to get in because of how busy they get. I ended up making an appointment because that was the fastest route. Price was reasonable. There is also a deal when you check-in on Yelp for a free multi-point inspections but this is already included in the oil change. . . mheh. It'd be nice if they had a dedicated quick lube area. I came during the week and there were several people in the waiting are just for an oil change. I didn't receive or see a checklist of the actual things they looked at during the "inspection." Most oil change places and dealerships will provide you with a print-out of everything they looked at and let you know what they found--if they found anything. The tech said it would be about 70 minutes, and it was done at exactly 70 minutes. So the time estimate was a on point. read more

I have a very Dear, Dear Friend who had her vehicle towed into Strosnider Chevrolet via way of OnStar to get repaired; (mind you she had just purchased it from Strosnider just barely over a year prior) the people told her it needed a new motor. So,1st they sold her a vehicle with a bad motor, it did not have many miles on it either. 2nd, the communication from the service team was horrible. In the beginning she was told they would let her know something by the end of that week. They did not, she had to call them to get the first report, also this was in November. They then told her the motor would not arrive till March 17th. March 17th came and went. The only time they would contact her was to tell her to bring the current rent-a-car back in because they did not want a great deal of mileage to accumulate. That happened 3x. Now she called back in mid April to be told that the motor was put in and when it was test driven afterwards something else needed repairing; was not told what, nor mentioned when it would be ready. Around the 21st of April she was contacted to be told her vehicle was ready and if she did not come get it fees for storage of her vehicle would begin and penalty fees would be imposed, also she would be responsible for rental and penalty fees pertaining to the current vehicle she was driving from them. She got sick and went into the hospital; however, she did call them and let them know. Now from that point communication towards the end of the month of May took a bit of a turn b/c her health improved but now she was facing the challenge of a hack on her bank account (which if any of you that have had this happen know it takes a bit to get that corrected) so she had no access to money. She did not have money to eat. She did call Strosnider and told members of the team she would get the vehicle back as soon as she could, she was also told they would work with her on any fees she may have incurred. Well today is June 3rd. She returned the vehicle, was hit with a bill for over $4100 and when she attempted to negotiate with Mr. Banty, GM pulls a number of $2200 out of his head to be paid right then (not explaining what this cost was covering) and she could have her vehicle, she offered a thousand dollars and asked if she could setup a payment plan for the remainder. Was told NO! Also was threatened to be held accountable for the total of $15,000 for the bill in its entirety. Mind you at the time of purchase, she requested the top warranty to be had; as well as any extra coverage she could get all to be included in car payment. Strosnider Chevrolet in Hopewell, Virginia was guaranteed over $10,000 from the warranty company for the new motor and a$1,000+ from the client. Keep in mind November to the end of April they had her car at their leisure to be fixed. She extended the time courtesy of 5 months for Strosnider to repair her vehicle, endured lack of communication, (only to be told by the GM "all dealerships were experiencing long wait periods for parts), hit with an outrageous bill with penalties for their short wait period, upon returning of their vehicle, and she was willing to pay $1,000 dollars. Today June 3rd, my Friend had to call me for a ride from Strosnider Chevrolet in Hopewell, VA to Matacoa, VA... HOME! They were willing to let her walk, even though she purchased the vehicle from them; was guaranteed $11,000 today and a remaining amount of $1,200 to be paid within 30 days and was refused! Will someone help me understand how these people are doing good business? read more

I bought a used 2022 chevy Colorado from strosnider Chevrolet and the service passed the truck with a chip in the windshield. Strosnider said that they would have it repaired not replaced. It was repaired and a couple weeks later it cracked across the entire windshield. I called strosnider and told them it had cracked all the way across the windshield and they said they wouldn't do anything about it. To me this is a bad business decision beings it was cracked before I purchased the truck. read more

My wife and I have been loyal customers but after so many bad experiences I have decided to cut our relationship with this dealership. My wife's family has been buying cars and receiving service for years. My wife has purchased two vehicles and her Mom one in the last six years. I purchased my Silverado after my 11 got totaled in 2019. I also used their body shop twice for my Silverado. My first negative experience happened while purchasing a 2020 Xfinity QX60. We had specifically asked if the car had navigation and CarPlay. Our salesman emphatically stated it did and we just had to set it up. The internet initially stated all the vehicles had it in 2020. After being unable to get it to work, I called Xfinity and the stated all of their vehicles had it except the QX60. I reached out to Kevin Strosnider countless times and he never responded to my voicemails or messages. We ended up trading it in for another vehicle with CarPlay at CMA. It was our one requirement for safety reasons for talk to text. Next bad experience was when we bought a hundai Sonata for our son. Buying experience was terrible but we stayed the course. After a few months, the brake lights wouldn't turn off and my son kept driving it and killed the battery. We had it towed and the service rep told my son he should send it to the Hundair dealership and it sat for days. I did some research and found the problem was a grinder at the break pedal that can fail. I went to the hundai dealership and got the 2 dollar part and replaced it in Strosnider's parking lot. After that I jumped the car but the vehicle horn and lights and dash starting screaming at me. I researched again and a forum stated to hit the fab and I did and the horn stopped but the dash kept blinking. I charged the car for 30 minutes but the vehicle wouldn't start. I went in to the service department to see if they knew a fix and Jeremy stated it was an electrical issue and the only guy that could fix it was off for a few days. I went to Kevin and asked if someone could check the battery and see if if it needed a new charger me and replace it. 20 minutes later they replaced it and still the same issue and again suggested to have it towed to Hundai. I had it towed to a local repair shop and the owner called me a few hours later and told me to come pick up the car and no charge except the towing fee. He told me their is a button on the dash which resets the car after the battery goes completely dead. It was a safety built in on the those models. He told me any good mechanic would know that. I again called Kevin and no response. My last experience was with their bodyshop. My truck got hit by an ambulance and needed repair. I again being loyal made an appointment to have Strosnider to get a estimate at 1400 that day. I arrived and stood in the lobby for 20 minutes and the manager who I was supposed to see told the secretary he was at lunch. The secretary took some pictures. I also heard several employees using vulgar language which was not good. Mark who worked their called me a few days later and informed me the manager had been fired and apologized. I brought the truck back and Mark did his best to work up a estimate. I took the truck in the next month. The owner had replaced the smashed tail light and I told Mark to take off the tail light repair and add touch up on the drivers door and the grill where bugs had gone through the paints. Fast forward more then a month later, the insurance agent called me and told me my truck rental was going to expire and she had never in her 23 years in the business seen a repair take this long. She told me she called Mark and told him this. I negotiated a few days more since I was on a stretch at work. My wife had also asked them to do a spray liner as a surprise for me. I picked up the truck and a few days later had time to go over the truck and the liner looked horrible and they didn't do the grill and they missed spots on the drivers door. I brought in again for another week and had to share one car. when I picked it up I looked and they didn't do the tail bed and the front grill and the passenger door still had a spot that the missed. They had splatter on the paint on the paint from the spray on liner. I again called and left messages with Kevin with no response. I finally spoke to a service guy who forwarded me to another number and I spoke to Kevin. I told him I wasn't going to use the bodyshop again and I planned to have the liner redone by a local specialty shop. He said he would talk to Mark and promised he would call me the next day. That was over a week ago. I'm done. read more

I scheduled an appointment to have my Hummer H3, a GM product, looked at for a bad right wheel. My scheduled appointment was December 27, 2022. The service agent, Jeremy Mandy, called me on the same day said my front right wheel is very bad and needed bearings and some other, total repair about 900.00, and parts will be in and installed on December 29. Bottom line I call several times at least every other day for two weeks; and physically stop in three times. Each time told your vehicle will be ready at the end of the day. One time was told our priorities came in, after my vehicle say fort ten days. On Day 14, January 10, 2023, went over during my lunch break, again Jeremy said your vehicle will be ready this evening. I went back at 4:30 pm and asked of it was ready. Got the look of disappointment. I asked for my keys back and Jeremy didn't even hesitate. Gave me the keys and told me where my vehicle was in the back. Went to the back and my vehicle had not been touched since it was dropped off. Battery was more dead for sitting in the cold without staring or looked at. Of course, my mind goes to beings black person they prioritize other people vehicles, or because my Hummer was an '07 they prioritize newer vehicles. Don't know which, but either way felt my money or service needs were put aside for other customers. Needless to say I will never take a vehicle to Strosnider again. Was told parts were in two days after I dropped it off on December 29. read more

Let me say that the sales staff was very nice, pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. The rest of the experience, not so much. I purchased a used vehicle and upon driving it back home the check engine light came on. Found out it was a bad fuel pump. By the grace of God the fuel pump did not give out on me on my way back (I live a considerable distance from the dealership). Yes I realized it was a USED vehicle but the "Service" Dept. admitted that they knew about the check engine light and "fixed" it before I bought it. I was unaware that the check engine light was coming on for something this serious. I would have been glad to replace something minor at my own expense such as an 02 sensor or filter. I asked if I could be reimbursed for the expense which was shy of $1K. The first thing out of the "Service" Dept. Manager's mouth was "did you get an extended warranty?" He never returned my calls, never mind trying to make good by reimbursing me at least half of the amount that I had to pay straight out of the gate. Avoid. Shyster "Service" Dept. and Management. Dear Mr. Strosnider, I came back on Wednesday to take my truck back to get fixed, i dropped it off but 30 minites later i got a call saying if i wanted to wait the part was coming in the next day to bring it back then and i said ok! I came back dropped the truck off an then got a call saying it was done. I went to pick up the truck only to find out its off centered, there were still scratches on it, dents and the sticker protecting my paint was in the wrong spot, protecting i do not know what! After i get the third one i will never return here ever again and on top of that i will make sure people i know and work with will not come to your company. read more

Purchased several vehicles in the past 20 years while visiting this dealership and they always seemed to take their time in the service department but I have never had an issue with their quality of work... Now after returning to the Strosnider dealership for the fourth time to fix the same issue I am considering changing brands of trucks and dealerships. My Chevrolet LTZ 2500 HD Duramax Crew Cab leaks water into the cab.. First time: Water in front and back floor boards carpet and padding soaked. After more than a week at the dealership they claimed the channels were clogged up and the sun roof was designed to leak and drain into these channels. Fans were used to dry the padding and carpet. The channels were cleaned and I was charged about three hundred dollars for the repair. Second time: Water both sides in front and back floor board and all the carpet and padding soaked. I requested they replace the seal on the sunroof. After two weeks at the dealership they claimed the channels were clogged up and the sun roof was designed to leak and drain in these channels. The channels were cleaned, soaked padding and carpet were replaced. I was charged about nine hundred dollars for the repair. The seal on the sunroof did not appear to be replaced and I had to return to the dealership the same day for my floor mats. When I asked about the seal I was told "we did what needed to be done" Third time: An inch of water on both front floor mats and the carpet and padding were soaked. It was Wednesday when I discussed this with the service manager and he said he would contact me on Friday with an update. I requested they clean-up the headlights while it was in there. With no call from the service manager on that Friday or the following Friday I stopped in on the second Saturday for an update. They claimed a channel tube was disconnected on the passenger side and water had run from there to the driver's side. They had reattached the tube and sealed it with an adhesive. The soaked padding and carpet were dried with a fan. The head lights had not been done but should be ready on the following Tuesday. Picked up truck on Tuesday, after one day short of two weeks at the dealership, I was charged about a hundred dollars for the headlights. Forth time: Carpet and padding were wet. I left the dealership on Tuesday with the truck only to find when I stopped for fuel the truck was coated with dirt and a residue of the headlight work was all over the front bumper. I check the padding on both sides of the truck and found the driver's side dry but the passenger side was soaking wet .... How do you check for leaks from a sunroof and have dust and dirt left on the truck? Returned for the fourth time and they said it would be another 2 or 3 days and they would dry it with a fan ... No one seems to be taking responsibility for checking on the quality of work. read more

It was time for an oil change. Saw the deal online, oil change and tire rotation - $39.99 I took it in with the added info that the engine light was on. Advanced Auto read it and said it was the gas cap. Okay, we'll check it out. Service only took an hour. Yes, engine light was the gas cap. Would I like to spend $45 for a new gas cap? No thank you, I think I'll look elsewhere. Took paperwork to the cashier. That'll be $149. What? Can you tell me what was done? Oil Change, Tire Rotation, and diagnostic. And the diagnostic cost $99 Will Never Set Foot in any Chevy repair shop ever again! read more

Went to two other Buick dealers who never could seem to figure out how to fix my air vents and the system. The service manager at Strosnider knew what it was when I told him my issue over the phone. Went 116000 miles and all those 'warranty' visits without a fix. Even though I had to pay since it was out of warranty it was worth it. I won't go anywhere else. read more

I finally got an appointment and dropped the car off today for an oil and filter change. 5 hours later I returned and the car was not done. That was a bit troublesome, but the worst was yet to come. I waited 30 minutes and finally they said the car was done. Considering the lack of customer service to this point, I was doubtful about the service. So before driving off, I decided to check the oil level. It was grossly overfilled. In case someone reading this doesn't know, overfilling the engine by a lot can ruin it. I was incredibly disappointed. First time I trusted them with service and they f'd up. If I hadn't checked, my engine might have been damaged. They didn't even seem to care and made me wait another 30 minutes to drain off some of the oil. It was so dark outside at that point I had difficulty rechecking the oil level. I even tried using the headlights but because the oil was so clean it was difficult to check. I prayed they got it right the 2nd time around and drove home. I will NEVER take my car to them again and recommend any of you reading this to avoid this dealer as well. It is very disappointing I trusted them with my car and they almost fried the engine. I dropped my truck off on a Thursday morning never got a call back that afternoon to get an update so called again Friday morning still no update called back Friday afternoon was told someone would call me back never received a phone call. Monday morning same thing call dealership was told I would get a return phone call about my vehicle repair never happened. Finally Wednesday morning I get a phone call explaining what was wrong with my truck but at this point I was so done I just paid for their labor and took my truck elsewhere to get it repaired. read more
