My husband and I are in the process of purchasing a home. We only had 2 days left in the option period and needed a foundation evaluation stat. I hopped on yelp and decided to call Structured Foundation Repairs Houston based off all their excellent consumer reviews. I was able to make an appt. over the phone (right away) to have an analyst (Dale Rutledge) come out to the property. Dale was at the house before we were, and we were early. Throughout the multiple hours that Dale was at the home evaluating the house, we learned a wealth of information from him. My husband and I now joke that when you know your stuff you are forever dubbed "The Dale". This may sound like some fake company review bc of what I have to say, but the truth is that Dale is AMAZING! He not only is an expert in his field of foundation analysis, but he was able to give us unparalleled insight into MANY other home aspects based on his life experience and expertise in a previous field. I cannot give enough praise to Dale for all his insight and patience with our 100 questions. He went above and beyond his duties of the home eval and went as far as measuring the elevation on the covered back patio! We cannot say enough good things, that is for sure. If you are in need of a foundation eval, repair work, etc.... CALL this company and ask specifically for Dale!! After a home inspector's recommendation of an assessment of the foundation on a home I was looking to purchase, I began researching companies. I came across Structured Foundation on Yelp and based on the near perfect rating, I called and scheduled an appointment. Dale arrived at the house early and was amiable and professional from the get-go. He explained the FREE assessment and a general outline of how he would go about examining the home. He took approximately an hour to complete his assessment. As Dale began to explain the results of his findings, I received a phone call which I had to answer. As I answered the phone, Dale quietly left the room and did not return until I finished my phone conversation (which was about 7 minutes long). I appreciated his thoughtfulness in giving me privacy during the phone call (although I wouldn't have had concerns if he had heard the whole of the conversation) and his patient disposition. Dale explained his findings to me (using his hand-drawn diagram with elevations) in a very succinct and professional manner. Thankfully for me, Dale's conclusion was that the foundation was in good condition and therefore, no work was needed. I am extremely impressed with Dale's thoroughness, honesty, and professionalism. I am equally impressed with Structured Foundation's business model of giving free foundation inspections and assessments. Our interaction with Structured started so well. Brandon and his team had great reviews, as you can no doubt see doing your research. We even had a personal recommendation from a friend that knew someone that used them. We entered into a contract with them and had Brandon's team came out to the do the foundation repair. The lift was accomplished as promised and the invoice was paid. Job completed - happy customers - or so we thought. Approximately 3 weeks after the repairs were made, we realized that a significant depression (low spot) appeared in our living room below one of the main walls in the house. This low spot was significant enough to be seen with the naked eye. It could also be felt while walking. We contacted Brandon and his team on a Sunday afternoon to alert them to the issue. My wife called the office Monday morning and was passed to Bryant to discuss what to do to resolve our issue. Bryant told her that they were extremely busy and that he could not have anyone come to our home to take a look at our issue for several days, at best. My wife expressed concern because we had some other work in the home scheduled for later that week. Bryant responded that he was close to our house on Sunday (the day that we called) and that he would have been happy to come by to take a look had we called him. He was borderline rude with her. I was not on the call, so I can't absolutely confirm exactly what was said, but I can tell you that my wife was upset enough at the conversation that she called me. I called the Structured office and asked to speak to Bryant. While on the phone, Bryant reiterated the same point that he was close to my home the day before and.... I responded that we called and he told me that they were closed, so how could he have known. I explained that it was irrelevant to me where he was on Sunday and the conversation became unproductive for a brief period of time. We were able to get back on point. I explained my concerns with the dip in the floor and Bryant explained that he might be able to shorten the lead time to get a crew back out if I could send photos of the issues. He would work on getting a crew out to resolve the issue while waiting on the photos so he could see what the "f" had happened. His words not mine. I may have used colorful language in the conversation too, but I did not describe the work as F-ed up. The photos of the dip are included on this review. I did not hear from Bryant again. I did call later that afternoon and he confirmed receipt of the photos and that the crew that had repaired our foundation would be back out the next morning to address the dip and any other issues. Tuesday morning the crew arrived and found that the house was not in the condition they left it in post lift. The interior wall had indeed sagged - the reason was unknown at that moment. They later stated that the location was was not supported but should have been. They elected not to support it at the time of the first lift because the deflection was 0.4 inches - not enough to justify the beam or a call to the office. But now it was greater than 1" so it had to be addressed. Progress... They installed a beam and lifted the house. In the process of doing the second lift, they damaged the newly installed cabinets and a portion of the wall. Understand that the initial lift was almost 4 weeks ago... Seeing the damage to the cabinets caused concern with my wife. We had just spent a significant sum of money on the lift and remodel of the kitchen and we now have damage. The technician at our home contacted Bryant to discuss her concern and what could be done to remedy the damage. His response to the technician was basically that it was our issue and that we should feel fortunate that they came out to fix the dip as quickly as they did. I called Brandon, the owner. He did not return my call but did answer when my wife called. He essentially told her, not me, that he would be happy to lower the floor back but that any damage was our problem. A little backstory, earlier this week I noticed a crack in the sheetrock in my garage appear out of nowhere. Crap. I literally finished laying new tile/wood and paint throughout the house. It happened out of nowhere and of course I expected the worst. I lined up 3 foundation companies to come take a look this week. A couple of other reviewers have already gone into great detail about Dale's professionalism and honesty and you can add me to the list. The man straight up did an hour's worth of measurements (while simultaneously remaining affable and tolerant of my questions) and by the end shared his findings that were quite frankly, borderline mystic. He had no clue that about 3 weeks ago I had an automatic sprinkler system issue that raked in a massive water bill. I am new to the house and had set the system to autorun and after a couple weeks the Houston WD called to report I had extremely high usage. I promptly turned the system off and had been sitting around waiting to get a landscaping guy to come out and take a look but that was on the backburner in relation to all of the other renovation I had been completing. I assumed I must have had a busted pipe or head on the system but didn't have time to figure it out right now. It never dawned on me this could be a related issue. Dale showed me how one corner of my garage was actually rising UP and the only way this could occur is through water saturation and that I must have some type of leak. Bingo. I discussed with him what had been happening and he told me that it should settle back down in a few months. I was of course relieved and offered to pay him to come back out later in the summer and make sure it was going down. He flat out refused payment for the evaluation AND a return check stating, "You don't owe me money for being honest and I'd be happy to come check again for you to make sure, just tell your family/friends about your experience." He then offered up the contact info for his own landscaping guy and then we had a great conversation about how honesty through your work is the best sleeping pill money can guy. He's just a great man that seems to be working for a great company. Call them and ask for Dale. Best contractor experience you'll ever have. We recently moved into a house that's about 42 years old. The inspection didn't raise any concerns about the foundation; however, we noticed some cracking in our tiles after we moved in as well as a few fine wall cracks in an adjacent room. My wonderful experience with Structured Foundation Repairs started when Marjory answered my phone call. I had already called the "big guys" and were told they weren't interested in looking at my 150-yr old weekend house in Brenham, an hour from Houston. Marjory said owner Brandon Hoge would do it, and at my convenience. I explained that we would have to schedule several weeks out because I was about to have knee surgery and couldn't drive. I called back a few weeks later to push the appointment off further and she was nice enough to remember the surgery and ask how I was doing. Finally back on my feet, we met Brandon at the house today. He was on time; early, in fact. He spent about an hour taking precise elevation measurements inside the house with a laser device. Then he walked underneath to examine the piers and beams. He concluded that the damage that concerned us was normal settling that occurs when new cabinetry is added to an old structure. No need for any foundation repairs and no charge for the evaluation. Wouldn't even let us buy his lunch! Honesty, integrity, professionalism - so rare. Trust was the main part of the deal that made me choose him. If you talked to him, you will understand why I say that. Brandon and his crew are very professional. Everything went as he said it would. He reviewed my foundation/elevations and said while there were small movements here and there it was not enough of an issue to need a fix, and no work was needed. I contacted Structured Foundation Repairs Houston to assess possible foundation issues. Our house is going on five years old and has developed a sheet rock crack in the ceiling, gaping between the crown molding and ceiling, and sticking interior doors. Brandon arrived on time and patiently listened to our description of the issues and how we water the property in attempt to mitigate any foundation damage. Next, we showed him our issues and outside property. Then, he brought in measuring equipment and took at least half a dozen readings of the first floor. It turns out that our issues are not attributed to foundation damage, but to normal house movement and quality of construction. Last of all, we asked Brandon how we should best water the property in times of drought, and he provided thorough and detailed answers. Having heard an impressive ad for Structured Foundation Repair on Dallas radio station WBAP, I contacted them for a referral for a like-minded foundation repair firm serving The Woodlands. As it turns out, they have a Houston branch owned/operated by Brandon Hoge. Brandon visited a couple days later, did a very thorough evaluation and advised that both the foundation and drainage were in good shape, i.e., no work/expense required. So I can't comment on the quality of work, others have done that, only the apparent integrity of the firm and Brandon. I've not had many dealings with foundation repair folk but must say that Brandon was focused on solving real problems rather than selling services. Extremely unprofessional operation. Did not provide Porta-Potty for crew. Crew urinating in backyard in full view of wife. Did not replace/repair moisture membrane when repairing holes made in slab. Placed wet, muddy tarps down to "protect" floor in house. Worked until 10 pm in the dark to hurry and finish the job. Ignored warnings about location of sprinkler lines and destroyed sprinkler system. Played loud Mariachi music in violation of POA rules. Foreman could not properly read foundation plans and was about to cut into a foundation beam until stopped. Foreman was also not present approximately 75% of the time. Workers informed me that they were from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala and only one of them spoke English. Made total mess of backyard. Left hats, shirts hanging on fence and trees and trash all over yard. Left hose laying in front yard. read more

I'm getting work done on my house and the contractor suggested I get the foundation looked at first before starting work. I called Structured Foundation Repair and made an appointment to have someone come out and give me a quote on foundation repairs. The owner, Brandon, arrived on time and even took his shoes off before coming in the house (we're from up north where we don't wear shoes in the house). He was very pleasant and explained the different measurements he was going to take to determine how level the foundation was. He took several measurements, both inside and under our pier and beam house. He even crawled under the house to check for rot and structural integrity. He drew a picture of the footprint of my house with the variances of each pier. The whole process took about one hour and ten minutes. At the end of all that, he determined the foundation was fine and didn't need any adjustments. I couldn't believe after all that he told me there was no work to be done. I tried to pay him something because I felt bad he did all that work, but he refused to take payment. I was so impressed. It is incredibly rare to come across contractors like this. If I ever need foundation work in the future, I will only call Brandon. He's punctual, ambitious (in a good way), knowledgeable and approachable. I am the building manager of my Church and recently noticed some signs of potential foundation issues. I called and set up appointments with two different foundation repair companies to come out and asses the situation. The representative from the first company was in and out in about 10 min. When Brandon from Structured came, I figured he would follow suit in a similar fashion, but boy was I wrong. After showing up right on time he proceeded to go through a thorough inspection that ultimately took him a hour to finish. He sketched out the problem area,took multiple elevation readings, and then took the time to explain his findings. He spent an hour of his time, ultimately found no need for foundation work at the present time, and didn't charge a dime. We are construction consultants sent by a large bank from California to inspect an industrial property and its buildings in Houston. Being that the property is located in a flood prone area and it was questionable if the proper permits were pulled to construct the buildings, we decided to call Structured Foundation Repairs to check the buildings footings for level. Dale Rutledge agreed to meet us out at the property at 7:00 AM. Unfortunately, the key the bank provided us to enter the property was the wrong one. Dale graciously agreed to meet later in the afternoon the same day. Dale used an instrument that measured for level on each building. He shared with us the results on the spot and declared that there was very little if any settlement in the foundation. We were good to go. What impressed me most was how honest and forthright Dale Rutledge was and how you could just tell he was there to do the right thing and look after you not only as a client but as a human being.
