I went to a show at Structures, it's a great venue with a nice outdoor space for the stage. The train whistle was a little weird though hahaha, There's a great indoor space as well as a large pavilion. I tried one of their beers, a hazy New England style that was good. Yet another amazing Bellingham brewery! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating and family friendly with a fun vibe. There are 2 locations, Old Town is much larger for seating than State St. and I am not sure if State St. has food. Fast and friendly service, especially for a pretty busy Saturday night. At Old Town the food is burger and a chicken sandwich. They are all delicious! Tasty potato chips too! The beer is delicious and spot on with several different varieties! The BEST BEER in Bellingham, bar none! My husband and I have been long time fans of Structures, dating back to the OG State St. location! When I heard they were opening a new location (with more seating & food!) I couldn't wait for the next visit!! My husband and I make several trips every year to Bellingham with the sole purpose of visiting Structures!! We typically spend 2 days hanging out at the taproom. The beer is top notch. Every time we visit, we come home with 2 cases of beer. Sure we can pick some up in Seattle, but we don't have ALLLL the options, or the quantity. Plus we like to support and buy at the source! Special TIP or HINT to Structures- Please make the corndog a standard on the menu!!! It is just too good!! I look forward to it every 4th of July, but would love to see it every time I visit! Whenever we go to Bellingham making a stop at Structures is part of our essential itinerary. Reason being is that their beer is so good and it doesn't really matter which one you get it's going to be good. Bellingham has lots of breweries like this and therefore we have a lot of essential stops to make. But we haven't been to this Structures location before. We usually go to the original location. We have actually maybe been to this building once before when another brewery was here but not when Structures was here. In a way I like this location better as you are near the waterfront and last time I looked the other Structures location doesn't serve food like this one does. As always the beer is as good as ever. Steve and I split the Coffee Forest King. There are a few variants of this brown ale and though I shouldn't be quick to judge this version is outstanding and I should be cautious in saying it would probably be my favorite since I haven't had the others but the fact that the coffee flavor in beer I love this one is not a disappointment in that delivery of flavor. In addition to that flavor you also get roasty and nutty flavors. The beer is creamy in body. Well, we couldn't stop at that one so we bought some beer to take home. A few nights later we shared a can of the Czech Dark Lager or what is called Tmavé. Once again another excellent beer. I am partial to lagers anyway and this one just reinforces that fondness. Flavor highlights with this beer are roasty, chocolate, dry and a great balance to the overall flavor profile. Of course it wouldn't be a complete Structures experience without getting a t-shirt here so I ensured that I did by purchasing yet another awesome t-shirt of theirs. read more

Great options for seating inside and outside with views of the water and Downtown Bellingham . Cute lighting outside, and neat decoration indoors. They have a back area that you can reserve for private parties that are indoor/outdoor. Good selection of Brews, great service. I had the chicken sandwich with hot honey, which was cooked perfectly ! Stopped here on a drive from Canada to Seattle. We had so many recommendations how could we not! We were not disappointed! First off the space is huge! A front inside bar with a patio and a back outdoor patio with a full tap bar. It's clean and the decor is so cute. It was a nice day so most people were outside. They do not do flights but so 10oz pours so we ordered 3. We ordered an peach fuzz IPA, a coffee and mallow stout (coffee & Fluff) and Flatlands which is a Pilsner with added hops. All 3 were delicious and I was im love with the stout. Sadly it wasn't available to go so we grabbed a bottle of a coconut stout they had My boyfriend ordered a burger and homemade chips and both were delicious (I may have snuck a few bites) Our server was amazing and even chatted with us about other breweries in the area. That's what I call community. She was very attentive and I appreciate her candor on all the questions we asked. Parking is limited otherwise you do need to street park. So excited for Structures to have a huge new location more befitting their epic legacy and following as perhaps the best barleywine makers around (among other great beer styles). Not to mention always having fantastic vibes, great branding/art, and now...food! I have yet to try the food sadly but I hear good things, just not from the vegan impossible burger which I was told tasted like a mcdonalds burger and was small like one too. I went the first day they opened and they had some logistical difficulties but for how busy they were they did an amazing job and the staff crushed it. Stopped in last Sunday on our Beercation. Arrived late morning so there were several people on the patio but we had the tap room to ourselves as friendly Lindsey guided us through the tap list. Lindsay was also very helpful when I pulled out my local breweries list and asked her thoughts on any of them? She started pointing around at how close a few were and we could see Bellingham Cider from our seats. Unfortunately we were hitting several breweries after our visit so I ordered a delicious Czech Dark Lager instead of the delicious sounding 8.5% No Sleep Lindsey raved about. Beautiful tap room, garage doors open and great views! Free street parking was close and easy. When discussing my brewery list w Lindsay she said their other location was the original and it's where the brewing is done. Really cool space and ambiance. Service was good, a bit slow at times, but it wasn't an issue as we were just enjoying our time. We still got in and out in a normal amount of time so no complaints. I stopped by Structures in their new location on a Friday afternoon. It was a bit early and there were still lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy, I moved to the back of the pubic space to the "sit and serve yourself" area. I used to come to this space when it was another brew pub. Structures has done a very nice job upgrading the space and seating. The back area is served by the bar (at the back) where food and drink can be ordered. The bar tender was friendly and served drinks with a smile and suggested we take advantage of a mid-afternoon deal on a beer and sandwich combo, I got the chicken sandwich. The food arrived pretty quickly and the fresh made potato chips grabbed my attention right away. While they looked slightly overcooked, they were not. They were amazing,, salty, so thin, and really delicious. I had to order more! My chicken sandwich was wrapped in paper and couldn't really be seen/judged by it;s appearance, but it was such a surprise. The fried chicken was between a tasty roll with a couple of sauces that provided a slight sweetness and tang. It was such a nice surprise. Luckily while waiting for a friend to arrive, a couple of Adirondack chairs opened up outside and we took advantage. It was so nice to sit in very comfortable chairs while looking over Whatcom Creek and Downtown Bellingham beyond. read more

I enjoyed my trip to Structures on Holly with some coworkers. What makes this place unique includes the back garage structure with lawn chairs overlooking the water, making it incredibly picturesque, and also the burgers and chips they serve. Most breweries in town partner with local food trucks, so I found it unique that this place serves both alcohol and food. The drive-in burger, smash burger style, was a little on the thin side, but at the low price point, it's hard to complain. The chips were ok - maybe a bit salty, but that may have been unique to my bag. One thing to note is that they have limited drink options compared to other breweries, particularly for non-beer drinkers (non-alcohol, fruity). Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to kick back and relax with some traditional beers and burgers in a scenic spot. read more

Absolute favorite Bellingham brewery. They make excellent beers of any style, but are top of the game in stouts and hazy.

If I'm to be honest, I was not expecting much - their State Street location wasn't ever a favorite of mine, but I figured this is new and I will try it. I am very glad I did! There's way more variety in beer - the Czech dark lager is delish! As I've developed some sort of weird aversion/allergy to super hoppy stuff, I was glad to see beers other than the requisite "90% are IPAs" tap list. The outdoor space is quite nice - they did a really good job with it. The music is still the same metal but it's at a level much more conducive to conversations. The food - ok well, it's probably some of the most affordable burgers in town, and they're good, but you do get what you pay for. I liken it to bougie fast food. The chips are good, if not a bit greasy, but if they get a fryolator I think that might change things up a bit. Overall, it's a dog friendly, welcoming space with good beer, solidly ok food, and a really nice ambiance outside. read more

I was introduced to Structures Brewing by some friends, and I am thoroughly impressed. Let's start with the location. Right on the edge of old Bellingham, and almost on the water. There are a few parking spots in the back as well. Easy to get to. Easy parking. The building is modern but understated with plenty of outdoor seating. There is even another bar area at the back. Room for plenty of people. Now for the food. I had their veggie burger, and it was very nice with a black bean burger and kale as the most prominent ingredients. The home made chips were also good, although I wish they had fries as well. As it's a brewery you would expect the beer to be good. And it is. I will have to return for a flight or some more tasting. Too many beers, too little time. Finally. The staff are grandly, approachable, and seem to enjoy what they're doing. read more

I feel their IPAs are their best but I am biased because their unfiltered/hazy/east coast style is right up my alley. Everything that I have tried was really good. Nice, open to the air brewery with lots of seating options and beautiful views of the water. Family and dog friendly. No problems with the staff, a lot of the service there is by ordering at the bar. I would have liked to see more appetizer options on the food menu (fries, nachos, etc.). I just felt like I needed something a little light on the side with the beer, without getting a whole entree. I was sad not to be able to try the smoothie beer. I saw that used to be on the drink menu, but when I was there they weren't serving it! Looks like they rotate the tap list frequently. read more

Beer geeks like myself know that Structures is possibly/probably the best brewery in Washington state, so cheers to them for stepping up and building a space that is worthy of their beer and brand. The patio is large and has great views of the beautifully grungy Old Town waterfront. The food is a welcome alternative to the "elevated" nonsense that so many brewpubs unsuccessfully attempt; simple, no nonsense burgers and (awesome) fried chicken sandwiches. My only minor gripe is that they offer the homemade chips as a side instead of including them with the sandwiches. Sure, they play lots of Metal (devil horns emoji) but when we were there it was an interesting mix of obscure doom and stoner and they even threw in some Townes Van Zandt, which earned them half a star from me! While their food menu is not huge, they make up for it with being exceptionally good at everything they do make. The burgers are everything I have been looking for in Bellingham but have not found. Simple, well seasoned, and not overdone or dependent upon a sauce to be good. The burger sauce is delicious but light enough to let the burger shine through. The chicken sandwich is probably among my favorites in Bellingham. The breading is light but crispy and seasoned well enough without being too much. The chips are also lovely and almost melt in your mouth. The beers were also great but I don't drink enough to really give a review. Structures was recently recommended to us. By B'ham standards, it's been around for awhile, but it recently moved into the spaces once occupied by the hallowed Chuckanut Brewery. Yesterday was our first try of Structures, which has only been open for 3 weeks in the remodeled space in Old Town. It was a strange and disappointing experience. In order... To paraphrase Joe Walsh, it's hard to arrive if you can't find the door-- you must turn two sharp corners and transit a beer garden to even see the door. IOWs, confusion reigns as to how to get inside. We were to learn that Confusion is important here. The place is now one cavernous room, into which would-be patrons are greeted by LOUD death metal and a "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign. There weren't any would-bes ahead of us, but there were several ready empty tables just a few feet away. When we were finally noticed, our name was jotted down, and we were offered a beer while we "waited". Our beers were handed to us, several ounces short of full pours, but the foam was nice. Ten minutes later, we were formally escorted about 6 feet to one of the same vacant tables. There is no posted taplist or QR code. Instead, tiny clipboards (hidden from view as was the door), contain dirty, tattered paper sheets. OK, once the hidden list was pointed out, over the din of Husker Du or whatever, we perused while finishing our "waiting" beers. I found it unnerving to discover that all the tap handles were human femur bone ends. As we finished the dregs of our short pours, we discussed and chose what we might like to try next. When a server appeared, I asked for a taste of my interest and I was told Structures doesn't allow sampling. OK..., so we asked: What happens if I order a Death Metal One, and it's displeasing? Can I then have it swapped for a Double Skull Crusher? The answer was yes. Confused yet? I was tempted to do exactly that, several times if necessary, but at that point my banger headache was pointing me to the door. The manager presented the check, and I asked about the sample policy. We were told that she'd been in the beer industry for 12 years, and Structures is the ONLY place she'd worked with that had this policy. She went on to say her servers lose tips and take flak because of it. When asked about the deafening metal, she shrugged and said it was the "culture" of the place. We paid, and then exited out the familiar open back door, where we'd parked, which has always been a public exit. We were then followed and accosted by some employee outside, who aggressively asked if he could help us. My impression was we were being accused of theft of our foamy $7 half-pint pints. The only way I'll voluntarily return to Structures will be with hearing protection, and even then only if I'm feeling mean enough to be displeased/replaced with as many short pours as possible before I'm 86'd. read more
