Dangerous that this place is affordable and easy for me to walk too. Food is very delicious. Their chips are great but I always hope one way they will add fries. That is my only critique. It is a great space to watch the sunset at. If you ever where looking to rent a space out for and event this would be a good one. Firstly, the music selection is amazing if you like metal. Nice variety of very quality beers. They have a smattering of styles. The do not have flights, but will do 10oz pours. Visiting Bellingham for the first time and I'm fascinated how awesome this city is. They have so many breweries and restaurants in their downtown area. After I finish my tourist places and etc, it's time to grab an ice cold beer! This was the first brewery I stopped by. It's a great spot, I decided to give them a try. Good vibe when I walk in. They are not really busy nor slow, so it was a decent crowd. I was really surprised by how cheap the drinks are over here in Bellingham!!! Like 16oz for like $4-5. What could go wrong with that price? I forgot the drink that I had but it was refreshing taste, there was a bit of lemon to it too. I do like light beer. Service is friendly and is very welcoming for the visitor. Explaining their history and etc. I will definitely head back there again when I'm in town. I do have to mention is that the washroom is dark haha. I'm never a fan of dark and gloomy places. Should light the washroom up mang!!! read more

Structures was #1 on my list, to try on our Bellingham Beercation. And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint! This was stop #2 on our beer tour. We were sad that they didn't offer samplers, HOWEVER.... they do schooners (10oz pours) for $4!! That is insanely cheap! I mean some breweries charge $3 for a 5 oz sampler! They are really on to something here! My husband and I love beer, so when we do brew tours we like to stick to samples so we can try a lot and not get toooo hammered. But we each had 2 schooners so we basically had just over a pint! Structures had a few New England styles on their tap list. They were delicious! They also had a brown that I really enjoyed. Great little spot for beers in Bellingham. (It is little, and PACKED!) I loved Structures! In all of our beer stops (5 all together) Structures has the best beer, by far in the B-Ham area! read more

I came here over the weekend after having this place bookmarked since the pandemic had started. But sadly, the experience was pretty underwhelming. I liked the beer well enough, but the service and ambiance felt very unwelcoming. As first-timers, we had questions about the beer and wanted to try a variety. However, the bartender said they didn't do tasters or samples, even for purchase - very suspicious! I got the feeling that they thought their beer was "above" that, or the guy was just being lazy. He literally said, "We don't do tasters, but I'll tell you that particular beer is fantastic **wink wink**" - talk about weird. At least describe the beer in terms of a taste profile if you won't offer up a taster? Like, be specific? So, we sprung for two beers and sat outside in one of their A Frame annexes. I wish I knew that the beers were "hazy." Only one beer, which we didn't order, even mentioned that in the description. I have nothing against Hazy IPAs, I just prefer to know if that's what I'm ordering. I really wanted to try the double IPA made with citra and mosaic hops but no can do... Since I can only handle 1 beer nowadays and they don't allow you to purchase tasters, too bad. On top of all that, they were blasting some kind of slow, alternative, or emo-style metal. If you're going to play any type of METAL, better make it SLAYER, or ruin all credibility. read more

We went for lunch today. The menu was very limited but the food was good, as was the service. However, there was loud heavy metal music playing and it was too loud to have a comfortable conversation. When we asked them if they had any control over the music that is being played. And they said no. It is a heavy metal kind of place. I could understand if it was late night for that music but it was not a comfortable place to have lunch. Will not return. read more

This was one of our stops when we were trying to hit all of the breweries in Bellingham. It was not in my favorites but by no means was bad. Most breweries in Bellingham are pretty good, but there are so many great ones that it takes a lot to stand out. One of the reasons why I did not care for it as much, but why my girlfriend and many others might like it, is because of the huge focus on IPAs. The majority were either IPAs or double IPAs and even had a triple IPA coming in soon. If you are really into IPAs, this is the place for you, but did not have as many other options. Other than that, it seemed like a good place. The atmosphere was pretty decent and I really like their logo and beer barrel seating. The seating style was pretty cool, but I was sitting in the corner and had to squeeze past people a lot. (Its a small place so the seating can be a bit cramped.) Also I believe they only take cash, though the prices are good so that is not too bad. Came here on a Monday afternoon after reading the other rave reviews. Got a pale ale and my wife tried the saison. Overall, I wasn't incredibly impressed with the beer selection nor taste. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad! It's just not on par with Aslan or Wander. Pretty small joint, limited seating, scream-o type music. Nicely decorated though, felt like a repurposed garage. All in all, I wouldn't say don't go here. I just wouldn't put it at the top of your list with the countless options this town offers! read more

A nice and relatively new addition to the Bellingham craft brewery scene. Loved that 6 of the 9 beers they had on tap were IPAs and also that their tasting room was a more intimate affair, more in line with the tasting rooms in Vancouver and with a food truck out front. Structures is located in downtown Bellingham, a stones throw from Aslan and several other craft breweries. I sampled their Juice on Juice double IPA (8.6%) and enjoyed the flavours. Would have liked to sample a few more of their IPAs but they are not equipped to do tasters / samplers. It was a positive craft beer experience and happy to recommend Structures Brewing. read more

I can't say enough good things about these guys. Seriously, no matter how many good things I say about them, it won't be enough. At this point, you have about five more minutes before it'll be impossible to say you made it in before they got discovered and completely overrun. It might actually be too late for that already. Word moves pretty fast these days. They've taken over a small garage-like space with a large rollup door, in the middle of what B'Ham can call its main business district. They're on State Street, with some potential for street parking, and a parking lot next door that you enter from the other side of the block. Make sure to bring cash. They're young hippie idealists, or something, and do not accept electronic payments from your advanced capitalist society. UPDATE: As of May 2016, they have succumbed to the realities of modern living, and will accept your filthy plastic credit card as a form of payment. Inside, there are a couple of pieces of wood serving as tables, and then a few old oaken barrels serving as other tables. There are not really any tables serving as tables, but that's okay. I'm a table, you're a table. We can all get along. There are some basic little metal stools, and there's a bathroom that they probably had to build themselves. There's some rough half-inch pine lumber on the walls. It looks very finished, but they're not messing around trying to convince anyone that this is a lavishly-appointed taproom. It's a clean and organized place to drink delicious beer. There are 6 taps, all available to take home as growlers. You can order beers in various sizes to get a sense for what you want. You can buy glasses or t-shirts. But what really matters here is the beer, without a doubt. They're making special stuff--not because nobody else could make them, but because some of them are somewhat difficult to make this well, and they make everything really well--the more-common styles as well as the more specialized stuff. The prices are reasonable, and they're still, at this point, doing everything themselves. They brew, they do everything during the week, and then they man the taps and the cash register when they open the doors. It's a great place and I hope to get to try dozens more beers from them. Ehhhhh I hate writing reviews like this. Honestly, I really do. It's just that no matter how many times I've been here (10?), my experience has always been sub par. I can't say how they're even still in business, with so many incredible breweries in town, and it's not even the beer's fault. Here's why I have had poor experiences: The beer isn't great - it's a lot of IPAs and there's not much else. They have 6-7 beers on tap and there's not a lot of variation. I am fine with that - everyone has an IPA day - but come on. Branch out. Even at that, I'd rather have a Shoe Toss or a Batch 15, or one of the Stemma IPAs. At least those have distinct flavors. The music isn't my style - death metal is not easy listening, and it makes the atmosphere tense. I know this personal preference, but if you want to relax and drink beer, might be good to not have screaming loud people on the speakers. I could totally deal with those two (and have, a bunch of times), but the worst part about this place is the attitude. I have had a few encounters with the owner? manager? head brewer? someone with some sort of authority there, and they're snarky, a tad bit rude considering I don't know them, and a little on the high and mighty side. I'm a patron - you shouldn't try to push me out with the attitude that you are the high and mighty and those that give you money are just lowly plebeians... The place always looks packed because it's the size of a postage stamp, which is great use of the Broadway theater technique, but I would suggest one of the other 12 breweries in the area if you're looking for a tasty libation. Again, I hate writing things like this, and have been hoping that Structures would redeem itself, but blah. read more

I have always enjoyed the beer from Structures and was excited to finally come to their brewery. At the time, they had their City of Solace Hazy IPA, which has been one of my favorite beers from Structures Brewing. I enjoyed the inside of the brewery with the exposed brick and they had a decent amount of tables with seats. We were also able to bring our dog inside, which is always a plus, to me. I can't wait for my next trip to Bellingham, Structures Brewing is definitely at the top of my beer list in the area. read more

I have brewed a few small batches of beer at home and I love to travel the world over and try local beer. BHam's local beer is in a word is inspiring. Structure is with out a doubt one brewery that inspires and creates amazing beer. One of their signature beer is their Fuzz IPA I love it and can't get enough with a piney flavor it does not disappoint. If your want something a little more full bodied try their Can't Sleep coffee stout is great! In the PNW there is nothing better then the blend of coffee meets beer. One more thing about stuctuers beer, there is nothing better then drinking beer out of a sexy beer glass! Structures has the sexiest beer glass in BHam! We live in Seattle and try to get up to Bellingham at least once a year for shopping and visiting a brewery or two. Last Friday, we got to visit Structures. What an amazing brewery! Their beer reminded us of Holy Mountain (which is one of the top three breweries in Seattle). The bartender was wonderful! She was extremely helpful with telling us about the beers and just had a great personality. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely be back the next time we drive north. read more

Structures is, for me, the missing puzzle piece in the burgeoning Bellingham beer scene. The owners somehow found their way to Bellingham from the East Coast, and are cranking out amazing versions of craft beer that are not found anywhere else in our area. Their IPA's, for example, are not the typical hop bomb of your West Coast IPA's, but are low in IBU's, delicious and refreshing. Lately, they've been swinging out with some more out-of-the-way offerings. The growler of Blackberry IPA that I recently bought for a camping trip to the San Juan Islands was one of the more creative and imaginative brews that I've come across this summer. Some of my other favorites include the Empress DIPA, which is phenomenal, and the juicy and delicious Splash is low on bitterness but maxes out on the refreshing scale. I have yet to be disappointed with any of the beers I've enjoyed at this wonderful establishment. read more

I love structures. The vibe, the building, and the beer is the best we've found in Bham for IPA's as far as we have yet to discover. We knew they'd be solid when we saw a Hill farmstead bottle on their shelf! Structures was our first and probably our favorite brewery we hit on our recent brewery tour of Bellingham. Here we got smaller portions of beer rather than a whole pint because having a pint at each brewery you visit is often times just way too much. Here I got an amazing Coffee Stout which was probably one of the best ones I have had in recent memory. Steven got a nice Amarillo hopped beer, a pale ale I believe. Both beers were truly infectious and you could just keep trying one after the other on their selections. This brewery is cash only so that is something to be aware of before you go here. This is a great, new, little brew house in Bellingham. I love that they do one thing (beer) and that's it! I'd read that this place was started by two guys, and sure enough, there were two guys behind the bar serving their beer. This place is all about the beer so take it in. I finally made it! I've walked by Structures on my way downtown. I've noticed that it is consistently packed. I found out why. It will now become part of my "when in Bellingham" list. Structures is a small brew bar with very limited seating and standing options. The bartenders are friendly and able to give drink recommendations. They also aren't reluctant to give a sample before you commit to a beer. In addition to their own beer on tap, Structures currently offers local Lost Giants cider on tap. Great if you're not into beer. Two sour beers were available during my stop. Structures offers some great merchandise at reasonable prices. If I had more drinks, which makes me a more generous spender, I likely would've walked out decked in their logo attire. At one time, Structures was a "cash only" establishment, which has deterred some people. They absolutely DO accept cards now. Prices are very reasonable. read more

They have their share of IPA options - a requirement in the PNW - but also a number of unique and tasty brews. I loved this brewery, definitely one of my favorites in Bellingham. There are quite a few tables inside as well as a roll up door with a small outdoor seating area. The beers here were excellent! I liked that there was the option to have a small sized beer or the usual 16oz. I had the blackberry IPA. I am not an IPA drinker but this was one I can drink. Recently visited here for the first time and overall was not impressed. The attitude of the guy pouring the beers was a bit too abrasive and very bro-ish. Their beers were good and mainly offer IPAs which I am totally ok with. If you don't like IPAs there are tons of other breweries in town for you to check out. The strange thing here is that they don't offer samples or any kind of tasters, which is quite strange for a brewery. You could tell the guy working the bar gets that question all the time and was rude when we inquired about tasters. I have never been to a brewery that doesn't offer some kind of small taste of a beer before fully committing to a full pour, and I have zero issues paying for a taster. The music was straight OBNOXIOUS emo style heavy metal turned up insanely loud. Any kind of music turned up that loud sounds terrible no matter what the genre. You can't even have a normal conversation with others in your party, and we were outside! We really liked the outdoor booths that were covered so if it rains you are probably good. Unfortunately we will not be going back here unless the things I mention above change for the better. Bummer because we were really looking forward to having this brewery be in our regular rotation. read more

Do I like the atmosphere at Structures? Absolutely. Friendly? Absolutely. Is it located well? Pretty much, though parking can be tight. Have I fallen in love with any of their beer recently? Not so. Fairly reasonable in price, for Belgian style pours in stemmed glasses, but nothing sticks out in the ever booming Bham Beer scene. I will try again, again sometime soon. read more

Every time I visit Bellingham this is my first stop. Due to covid I could only get it to go but there's no complaints there because I still get their delicious beer. There's always a new release and NEVER disappointing. And every time I'm in there the same guy that looks like heath ledger is working and his customer service is always phenomenal. The only thing I would suggest - a tip option for the bartender. Heath Ledger was so nice and gracious about me not having any cash and explained he really wasn't "providing service" and I totally get contactless transactions. However, I still touched the beer he touched so I could touch a pen he sanitizes to leave a tip. He deserves it :) read more

Stumbled across Structures. Impressed me with their hazy ipas. Had the Splash, and Isles of Bones ipas. Stupid good. Dream Reaper porter as well. Found the Haunted Houses ipa on tap at Elizabeth Station on the same day. All 4 beers made me want to sing a beer song! Tasty and complex suds.
