Tiffs brewery is worth the drive from Bellingham and rivals the best that B-Ham has to offer. What sets them apart besides their great beer? Their internet is fiber, which is blazing fast. They have USB ports throughout in case you need to charge up. Their merchandise is great, their branding is impressive, and they offer unusual products like a bottle-opener and magnet for $4. The food truck in the back is top notch (called "Where's the Food") and quite tasty. Lastly, their beers are great with a wide variety of styles, including a Barleywine which is hard to find. his was our last brewery stop on Thursday 26 September, our week long Bellingham Beercation. Parking was easy right in front and across the street from the brewery. Got the townie bar feel while there. Just locals hanging out, minding their own business. I found it refreshing & relaxing. The beer was good & beertender nice. While visiting Ferndale we took a wrong turn and accidentally discovered Fringe Brewing. Great find! We did a taster and all the beer was excellent! The Portal Pilsner really stood out for me. Everything you would want a correctly brewed pilsner to be. Light, clean and crisp with amazing flavors. No food in house food service but always has a food truck in hand. What a great find in downtown Ferndale. They make some seriously good beer in a wide variety of styles. Of course I had to try a flight, which was a very reasonably priced four-pour sampler. Honestly I can't say I had a favorite as everything was great. The POG cider from Bellingham Cider was super smooth and fruity and the blackberry IPA was well balanced with a great berry aroma. Their Zappa Comet hazy IPA was also super smooth and not overly bitter and the Hive Brain honey rye cream ale on nitro was the definition of smooth. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the beer menu. No food here but we brought our own pizza and enjoyed lunch at their large outdoor seating area. I was very pleased to see that Ferndale has a brewery! This was a new discovery for menon my last trip to the Bellingham area. Fringe is located in downtown Ferndale which is very cozy and quaint. There was a festival going on when I was here and I didn't want to get caught up with a crowd so I just stuck to visiting this brewery. I got a lighter beer, I believe it was the Sesh which was a Session beer and IPA. I was going to visit other breweries on my trip and wanted to start out light. The Sesh wasn't bad... it was not quite what I was expecting but still refreshing and proved to be a fine beverage on this late summer weekend trip. read more

Great to see this new addition to the Whatcom County craft beer seen springing up n Ferndale. We sampled five different beers among for of us during a recent visit and all were enjoyable. So far, I don't think any of them rated the county's best, but that's a tall order in the beer heaven where we live. Great folks, enjoyable atmosphere, and food truck rotation right on the web site (can all breweries follow this lead, please). Fringe captured our interest right from the start by not limiting themselves to the ubiquitous (and often ho-hum) IPAs that have become so mysteriously popular. This place is awesome! Great beer, friendly staff, and usually have a good food truck parked outside for a bite to eat. Dog and family friendly as well. The selection of beers is solid and there are always a few cider options (one tap and the rest in cans) if you are GF or just don't like beer and are coming with a group. It is great to see a brewery open in Ferndale. They did a great job with layout and the decor looks really cool, and I like the little outside area. The guys behind the counter were really nice and more than happy to help us find a beer. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 is. I really don't like malt heavy beers. Other than that. It's nice to have a good brewery in Ferndale. I've enjoyed most of the beers here, but my favorites are the Parker Porter and the Jam IPA. They've also done some great collaborations with other local breweries, but those are usually only a limited run. It's a family and dog-friendly spot. The food truck options are good, although I do sometimes wish for a more predictable menu (they publish the food truck lineup on their website). read more

My husband and I drove to Fringe to enjoy the food from WTF Food Truck. (Their food is 'off the chart' delicious.) We wanted to eat inside the outdoor tent provided at Fringe and purchase a beverage, however, the abrupt signage was too harsh for us Patriots. Talk about offensive, blunt and rude "guidelines". I've never stayed just one hour at any restaurant or bar. Also, there is plenty of room inside for social distancing; none is offered. The restrooms were filthy. No hand sanitizer available. No one in the tent had a mask on and your lack of courteous language was not hospitable in the least. P.S. You have 99.8% chance of surviving Covid. Hope your business survives. read more
