I called to get a quote and a rate, I did not confirm anything by any means over the phone, text, email, nothing. I wanted to see if it would be possible, and what the timetable would be, and how much it would be . I never said, yes please go tow my car . The price they quoted me was higher than I could afford at the time, so I was in the process of lining up a friend who was happy to do it , when I got a phone call from the tow company and it was their driver who had just towed my car an hour to where I asked, and asked me where I wanted to dropped off. So I was saddled with a service and a bill that I never asked for. I was late in paying my bill and that was all my fault, and they did do it very quickly, so quickly in fact that I couldn't even say yes or get any other options before I had to pay for the service and the bill. read more

This company is nothing but a bunch of Bottom feeders, predators, who pray on college kids and their parents!! After my daughter talked to the driver towing cars at her complex and informing him she had a rental and couldn't get a new sticker from landlord until the beginning of the week, The driver said " no problem I got you" then turned around that night and towed her vehicle. After she realized a day later that it was towed she called the tow company to explain the situation and that she had spoken with the driver and was assured it was ok, they towed it anyway!! "David" the so called manager started yelling at her and calling her stupid and that it was time for her to learn a lesson And he didn't care what she had to say she was just stupid and irresponsible! He then proceeded to tell her everything she said was recorded with the driver but he didn't give a shit. She was going to learn policies and responsibilities and bc she was so stupid he was charging her $180 for the tow.. I then called myself only to meet resistance from David and how he was a rules follower and done everything by the book and we were just stupid toothless hillbillies that he would "knock out" if seen on the street. He just kept talking over and over about how they follow the rules, and since we called he wasn't releasing the car to us that now enterprise had to come get it. Well David you sure didn't follow ethics or eti-quette, you left your manners at home in bed where you said the fan blows on your balls all night because you slept comfortably doing these kind of things to people. I hope the owner "Max" reads this and fires you!! But I doubt it since he can't even answer A email.. Just shows what type of business is being ran in Bloomington, Indiana!! We got a nail in our tire while driving through the area. Other chain tire shops wouldn't help us out. Called Stryker and they were able to help us out quickly so we could get back on the road. Would recommend if you have an emergency repair. Its slightly off the main road, look for the big black sign. read more

Short version: Not the place for fast service, and more pricey then other places in the area. Poor of the quality of service/repairs( see second paragraph below) Long version: The guys all seemed super great, especially Will. But the service could have been better. Not the place for fast service!! I was told it would take one day. After that I was told a couple of other times that it would ready on a certain day, and it was not. After the second delay, Max promised it would be done on the next Monday, and it was not. All in all, it took 4 or 5 days. I was told the delays were due to problems with the part(s) received from the vendor. I was also initially that a ticking noise was due to the beltabelt tensioner needing to be replaced. However, after they replaced it I've still heard the ticking. I'm not sure if I was told wrong at the start, if the repair wasn't done well, or if it's something else. I would have them look at it again, but I'm wary of not getting my car back for days on end. Can also confirm the trouble starting is still occurring/was not fixed with their repairs. Lastly, compared to other mechanics in the area their prices are on the higher side, which I wouldn't mind if the service also felt as though it was on that level. However it was not all bad, hence the 2 stars. To their credit, they do a great job of explaining the repairs that are needed. They also did keep me updated fairly regularly. And as I said earlier, they all seem like legitimately nice people. I should also mention that they eventually got a more expensive part from a different vendor and didn't charge me the price difference. And in case you're interested: the repairs including replacing a radiator hose, engine oil cooler and belt tensioner. read more

I stopped doing business with Stryker Towing & Repair in late 2021 but still deserves a review: I had been warned not to do business with Stryker Towing & Repair but had not had a bad experience during those few years until mid 2019. My car had broken down beyond repair but had another car that needed a lot of work so he towed it to his shop after being in my garage for 1.5 years. A day or two later, he said it needed about $2,000 worth of repair. It was a 1997 vehicle so it wasn't worth the money, so he made me a deal that if I sign it over to him, he would knock off a few hundred dollars off the price of a vehicle he was selling. It sound like a great deal until the engine of the vehicle he sold me started blowing up after 3 weeks in which he blamed my father for "making it worse" by continuing to drive to an auto-parts store a few miles away. The vehicle I signed over to him was going to be scrapped (according to him) but some time later on, my friend found it for sale on Facebook Market. I was out 2 vehicles plus the money on the lemon he sold me and had to buy yet another vehicle because I drive for a living. It was the day I realized what a scumbag and con-artist he really is and how foolish I was for ignoring the warnings about Stryker Towing & Repair and owner's shady business deals. I will never know how much the repair would have been if I had it taken to an honest mechanic. Stryker Towing & Repair gets 0 stars and not a single penny more from me. My son couldn't start his car last week. Stryker towed his vehicle five days ago and didn't even look at it until after the weekend. Turns out the battery and the terminals needed to be replaced. They charged him $500 for the tow, a battery, and battery terminals. This is a 20 year old Honda and the work they did took maybe fifteen minutes, but charged $230 for labor. Worst experience ever with a towing company. They tried charging me eight out rages price not only that but told my vehicle without consent. I had to have the sheriffs department come to his shop to get my vehicle because he refused to give it back. read more
