The grounds are expansive with plenty of areas for private walks, benches and well manicured lawns. There is a markets with a broad array of wines, cheese, snacks, candles, drinks, sweet treats, and more to explore. The on premise Hilltop Restaurant's breakfast buffet is approximately $40/person and they also offer a separate breakfast menu - scenic and convenient. The staff are friendly and efficient. There's also Boon Fly Café as another option. The pool area is spacious with plenty of seating and lounge chairs. The adjacent hot tub sits right at the edge of a view of the hills and vineyard. Picturesque. Amenities inside the cottage were well stocked (towels, soaps, tissue). The soaps, lotion, shampoo and conditioner have pleasant scents (quince, lavender) and are easy to dispense. We recently stayed at Carneros Resort for a one-night local getaway. Having stayed here before, we hoped the maintenance and housekeeping issues we previously experienced were isolated. Unfortunately, this stay suggested otherwise. The most concerning issue occurred at 2:00 a.m., when the smoke alarm began chirping because of a low battery. After we called the front desk, a security guard arrived with a ladder but, instead of replacing the battery, removed the smoke alarm entirely, leaving our cottage without a functioning smoke alarm overnight. He also mentioned this happens often, which made the situation even more concerning. The next morning, despite having the Do Not Disturb light on and a 2:00 p.m. late checkout, housekeeping knocked on our door around 11:30 a.m. to clean the room. The room also showed the same maintenance and housekeeping issues we encountered on our previous visit: a broken lampshade, stained carpeting and furniture, and a folded "clean" towel with a crusted brown stain. Combined with the damaged bedding, stained furnishings, and patio umbrella from our first stay, our impression is that these are recurring issues rather than isolated oversights. That's especially disappointing because the public-facing aspects of the resort, including The Market and Farm, are excellent. Unfortunately, the accommodations did not reflect the standard we expect from a luxury resort. We won't be returning, especially with so many better-maintained options nearby. read more

WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS AND FAMILIES WITH SMALL KIDS:The private patios are not fully enclosed underneath. They have wide-open decks that leave open access for wildlife to live beneath them, and there are no measures in place to prevent raccoons from entering these guest areas. We have stayed at Carneros Resort many times because we've always enjoyed the pool and grounds. After a previous disappointing stay, we decided to return hoping things would be better, but this visit was deeply upsetting and we will not be returning. Our stay started poorly at check-in. The first cottage we were assigned was completely dirty, featuring an unmade bed and used towels on the floor. We were told to wait while they moved us and were promised a glass of rosé, but it never arrived. Things became terrifying shortly after settling into our second cottage. Our 11-year-old senior dog was brutally attacked by a raccoon inside our private "enclosed" patio during daylight hours. The raccoon came directly from the open area beneath the deck. The attack was entirely unprovoked, extremely distressing to witness, and required immediate emergency veterinary care. We had to spend our first day in Napa at the emergency vet and were left with a massive bill. When we reported the incident, management's response was completely unacceptable. A manager told us the property is a "raccoon habitat" and basically shrugged it off, saying these encounters can happen even broad daylight. The under-deck spaces could easily be secured, and if the property is a known raccoon habitat, there should be clear warnings and effective preventative measures. To make matters worse, we called Napa County Animal Control the following day and learned that the resort had failed to report the incident entirely. Per local public health and animal control protocol, a wildlife attack like this must be reported immediately, yet the resort completely ignored this safety requirement. The resort did not cover our veterinary costs and offered absolutely no meaningful goodwill gesture or compensation at the time. The total lack of empathy, communication, and safety follow-through does not match this property's high price point. Do not stay here if you value the safety of your pets or young children. read more

This place uses false advertising, particularly relating to the "third night free." They say that it is $1082 per night, when actually it is $1600 per night. For the $1600/night room cost, we would have expected a much higher level of service and better room quality. Carneros gives the outward appearance of a "luxury resort" (and the price), but does not live up to the luxury experience at other similar resorts. The property was worn out - with a bathroom door that sticks closed, broken hair dryer, and even a frog in the bathroom. The service was very minimal, and it seemed like the hotel was short-staffed at every venue. The cleaners did a very poor job multiple times, and we needed to call for robes, towels, washcloths, coffee, waters, etc. At the pool, there were very few people attending it, and when asked for assistance to move an umbrella, the staff indicated that it was too heavy to move. The breakfast on Sunday morning was a complete chaotic mess, where no one even brought us water or coffee (even when we asked), or acknowledged that we were there. At the spa, there were very few people working there, which resulted in the locker room items not being stocked. If you are looking for a luxury resort, do not choose this one as it isn't worth the money. I'd suggest Stanly or another one which actually provides the service you'd expect for the price you pay. read more

First impressions as first timers was old, outdated and lacked character. Check in was nice and offered a Pinot noir and was a splash but decent wine guessing from the valley. Lobby is tiny and we were greeted while they were busy with other visitors. Gave us a three level upgrade with outdoor tub but too many leaves and pollen to use. Called for housekeeping and nobody arrived. Have to call to get slippers and tooth brushes and only bought one set even though they confirmed for two. Lounge sets were not covered prior to our arrival which I would expect as part of housekeeping. Hence can't use lounge chairs and patio furniture without cleaning. Spiders on outside furnitures and inside cottage had one dangle down its web right in front of me while sitting on the sofa. Bathtub inside is broken and can't use to take a bath and looks like it's been broken for a while. I liked the folding patio door setup as allows a nice view of the roses in the yard and a nice breeze but a lot of bugs. Could be helpful if there's lavender plants in the backyard. Nice fire place in backyard that can run really hot and keep bugs off you and a nice place to relax in the morning. Shower had nice heated floors but tub not working detracted from the experience. Service is great and everyone was ultra friendly but hard product is missing the spot. read more

We have stayed at this resort and we were excited to visit to check it out again and get it on our calendar. I'm so frustrated with the amount of dogs that are allowed at this resort. On the website it claims that the pool, market, spa, restaurants are for humans only. Not enforced! A man had his dog sitting on his lap at the market and nothing was said. I'm ordering food and as this man played with the dog his fur was going all over the place. That's got to be a health risk!!! Not to mention people have allergies to dogs. My wife and I recently stayed at Carneros Resort and Spa to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of the luxury standards the resort advertises and the price point it commands. Upon arrival, we had to wait to check in because there was only one person working the front desk. For a resort charging nearly $1,200 per night, this was not a great first impression. There was also no welcome drink or arrival experience offered. The next day I noticed a bottle of wine and cups sitting on a table near check-in, but no one had mentioned it to us when we arrived. I booked through American Express Platinum and inquired about a room upgrade, but was told the resort was at full capacity and no upgrades were available. However, throughout our stay the property appeared surprisingly empty and certainly did not feel anywhere close to full occupancy. I had also informed the resort ahead of time that we were celebrating our 6th anniversary. There was no welcome note, no small gift, and no acknowledgment whatsoever. While not required, these are the types of details luxury resorts typically excel at, especially when guests are celebrating special occasions. The room itself was another disappointment. For the rate we paid, it felt small and poorly maintained. Several lights and the television were unplugged, leaving us to troubleshoot them ourselves. The curtains were falling off the rod, and there was visible trash in the backyard area. These are basic maintenance issues that should never be present at a property positioning itself as a luxury destination. Dining was equally frustrating. We attempted to get a table at The Farm and were told the next available table would be about 20 minutes. We were offered immediate seating outside near the bar, but staff failed to mention that this was effectively a different dining experience with a much more limited menu. The service there was poor from start to finish. Our waiter forgot to place one of our orders, resulting in my wife's meal arriving much later than mine. We frequently had to flag him down just to receive basic service. The food portions were small and the quality was mediocre at best. The one bright spot of our stay was the wine tasting at Post Tasting Room with Cole. He was knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely seemed to care about creating a great guest experience. He was easily the highlight of our visit. Overall, Carneros Resort and Spa did not deliver the luxury experience it promises, nor did it justify its premium pricing. First time staying here. We had a free Hilton night to use and decided to try this place out. Average prices run $800-1000 so our expectations were high going into this. We were greeted warmly upon checkin and thanks to Hilton diamond, we were upgraded to a nicer cottage. The person checking us in enthusiastically described the bryte balance beds in these upgrades rooms that allow personalized settings. However when we got to the room, we couldn't find the instructions to adjust the bed. Long story short, there was a lot of back and forth and conflicting communication from different staff members. For some reason our upgraded room did not have the updated beds- still not clear to me why since the website advertises these upgraded beds in our room type. In any case, the staff was nice to offer a consolation bottle of wine, which unfortunately we did not drink as we were celebrating our baby moon. The property itself is beautiful and two pool areas that includes a separate heater pool and a hot tub. It was quite empty when we were there. The common area near the restaurant had a lot of fire pits for enjoying. The room was nice , very spacious with heated floors and an expansive private patio with outdoor tub and outdoor shower along with outdoor fireplace. Requesting service was hit or miss. We tried texting as instructed which took ~30 min to respond. When trying to call, at times, phone would ring without anyone picking up. We requested additional water and matches for outdoor fireplace several times, but neither of these ever arrived so we gave up. As Hilton Diamond members, breakfast was included. However it didn't seem like a special benefit since it seems like breakfast is included for many who book direct. For a pricey luxury resort, I thought breakfast was a bit lacking - with only 1 hot option (quiche). The rest were fruit, cheese and charcuterie and bread/bagel. A la Carte items could be ordered for a fee and anything more than black coffee (eg cappuccino) would be extra. This is better than the $15/p credit at other Hilton properties but given that this is a SLH and a high end luxury resort, I guess I expected breakfast to be a bit more substantial. Given that this was a free night award, I wasn't too disappointed, but if I stayed here with the cash rate, I think my rating would drop to 3-3.5. read more

Even though this resort was in Napa, it was not pretentious at all and I felt so comfortable. I totally want to come back. This place is beautiful! We recently stayed here for hubby's birthday. I emailed the spa ahead of time to book us a couple's massage and they promptly replied. I then called to work out some details and it was booked! We arrived to Carneros around 11:30AM and our room was ready which was amazing news to hear! (check-in was 4pm). SPA: The Swedish massage by Louie was amazing! 1000/10! He was so friendly, welcoming, and I knew I was in good hands. I felt like I was talking with a friend. The pressure was just right. Hubby and I were in the same room. I'd never seen a massage table like theirs where it can recline and sit you up and all that. talk about fancy! We used the showers there and they were great. I think I was the only one in the women's restroom most of the time, didn't see another soul lol At the time of booking, the gal said we'd have bubbly for hubby's birthday. After our massage service, we were given a glass of bubbly and we took it to the pool and just relaxed. ROOM: Really beautiful! We had the outdoor bathtub, firepit, and lounge chairs. We used none of them though, because we were always out and about and didn't get a chance to use them. Also, it happened to be raining one of the days we were there so. When we came back to our room, there was a nice gift box left for us as a gift for hubby's birthday, a set of stem less wine glasses which was a really nice detail on their part. OTHER: On the grounds, there was a market shop where you can get coffee, pizza, souvenirs. We enjoyed the tasting room where we had a tequila tasting and a non-alcoholic wine tasting with Alex. He was cool and the customer service was really great, and even gave hubby a little chocolate for his birthday, which was a really nice detail, and gave both of us some bubbly to celebrate. POOL: love that there's an adult only pool and it was enforced during our time there as I saw one of the staff notify a guest with their child, as child was ready to jump in. TEXTING: loved that you could text them with questions and such. However on Saturday, whoever was in charge of the texting, did not do a good job and was very delayed in replies or not even replying. I texted about something that had happened with the staff doing the evening checks, and I eventually got a reply 2 hours later which seemed unacceptable. Then, later that same evening we were at the hot tub at 10pm and it started to sprinkle kind hard and I texted to request a ride back to our cottage but never heard back. We ended up just being careful and walked back to our cottage in the rain. I ended calling the front desk when we got back and mentioned the delay and the girl acknowledged that she was not checking the texts. That's not good. We overall enjoyed our stay. We really liked the adult pool, and even went to the hot tub one evening at like 10PM, and there was only one other guy there by himself. The only thing I would change is the breakfast that was included with our stay. Breakfast was fruit, yogurt, cheeses, cold cuts, and a quiche under a lamp, and hard boiled eggs. At $70 for breakfast (for 2), I would go somewhere else if I was paying for it. I just know how much it was b/c they brought us the bill where we added gratuity for the staff. The staff was really friendly and were attentive with us. I take my time w/my coffee, so I was still working on it and we had a wine tasting reservation to get to. I asked for a to-go cup to pour my coffee in and go, but the server brought me a fresh cup of hot coffee instead :) and was much appreciated. We got the orange juice too and it was pretty good. I asked if they squeeze it on-site and he said no, it comes bottled from another location. In any case, it was still good. On our last morning, we went to Boon Fly next door and had a wonderful breakfast and was less than $70. I wish Carnero's would let us apply the included breakfast to Boon Fly. I saw some folks at Boon Fly with to-go coffee cups from the breakfast at Carneros. lol. pro move. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. This place is a splurge for sure and wish we would've spent more time on property to really enjoy everything, including our room. read more

Stayed here for the first time with my boyfriend. We are Hilton Diamond members and had a free night so we decided to use it here. Service: Service here is impeccable. They go above and beyond to help you. From the moment we drove up to the lobby until the moment we left. Check-in, being taken to our cottage, the house car to and from Napa and check-out. Absolutely no notes on that. It is what one would expect from a luxury resort Food: The free breakfast was decent. I think in the U.S. the free breakfasts here are pretty subpar compared to Hilton resorts and upscale Hilton properties such as the Waldorf Astoria in Amsterdam. That property had THEE best free breakfast, in comparison this was maybe a 4/5. It's not fancy but it was fresh and delicious. Would have enjoyed freshly made coffee and lattes over pump coffee. The one note was that we weren't greeted when we walked in, nor did anyone acknowledge us as we stood waiting. Yet a man and his family and baby in a stroller were acknowledged and were helped to a table. We asked how the tables worked and were told we seat ourselves. So two different messages there.. it left a sour taste in our mouths as we just stood there looking around. We eventually just sat ourselves outside and who I assumed was the manager promptly came outside and greeted us. That helped to make us feel better and after that service was better. Cottages: Huge and lovely. Plenty of room for the two of us with heated floors, and outdoor shower, fire pit, heater and fireplace. We weren't able to make us of everything but we agreed this room was nicer than other upscale Hilton properties solely because of the amenities. Property: We explored the hilltop and around our cottage and from what we saw the property is picturesque. The pool and hot tub are clean and it was incredibly relaxing to eat my breakfast outside while sipping coffee while looking at the rolling hillside. The one thing that did bother me was that I asked my boyfriend to order the Pinot Noir which is advertised on the menu as $45. When he called he said they told him that the bar had just closed but that they'd check if they could accommodate us. They said they could and promptly brought it over with glasses. Now the wine was delicious but in the morning we were hit with a $129 charge. Which is significantly more than the advertised $45 bottle. In front of the check out person I asked what that was for and he said it was for the Pinot Noir. It's not like we could refund the bottle since we drank it so I just paid for it but I did grumble to my boyfriend in front of the person who checked us out that it was advertised as $45. I didn't want to cause a fuss though so I just paid. But if you look on their room menu there is no Pinot Noir besides the one for $45 so unsure if this was an off menu item but it wasn't explained to us. Besides the hiccups with breakfast service and the wine overall it was a pleasant and relaxing stay. Perhaps my expectations are dulled due to the fact that this was a free night through Hilton. Overall we said this would be a very lovely option to stay here again in the future especially living within an hour of this resort. read more

A lot has changed in the 13 years since we last visited Carneros. I'm not sure if the change is with me and my expectations or if it's with Carneros. It's probably me. We had a great three night getaway at Carneros. We remember the cute little cottages, all the bubbling fountains everywhere, the excellent service, the outdoor fireplaces, and gorgeous views. So we booked another Harvest Cottage. We had a great check-in experience, our cottage was ready and clean upon arrival, and overall it was a great stay. The complimentary breakfast at the Hilltop restaurant was a new amenity when booking direct. We enjoyed the offerings and never felt the need to add on any additional menu items. The outdoor patio was relaxing and we enjoyed the loungers with heaters as well as the gas fire pit. We walked everywhere at met very kind employees in the main lobby and at the Coop. Loved checking out their gardens and the chickens and rabbits. It is a beautiful place and we sincerely enjoyed it. However, some areas felt really lacking this trip. I'm sure if we had shared any concerns with the front desk they would have helped rectify things but our stay was so short and none of our issues were huge. But overall felt like some areas of our stay weren't what you'd expect from a resort of this caliber and proved to be a bit disappointing. - There was construction and repairs all over the place. A huge bulldozer type thing was directly outside the family pool and gym. You had to go into a conference room, through an employee storage area just to get to the pool and gym because everything was blocked off with cones and work. Would have been nice to know in advance - most hotels post that info during the booking process. - Our quiet little neighborhood (we were in Verbena 3) did not appear to have another neighbor anywhere near us so you'd assume it would be so quiet. Unfortunately, the groundskeeper used an electric hedger at 6:45am at the cottage directly across from ours. He was probably 30-feet away from where we were sleeping and had an electric hedger going. The same cottage had an industrial cleaning team with van and hoses pull up at about 5:30pm the same night and were just as loud as the electric hedger. - The room was beautiful and had plenty of amenities, however the blowdryer was awful. No air was moving though that old thing. Similar resorts have a Dyson or at least a high-end blowdryer, but this was the tiny travel blowdryer that's been under your parents sink since you were in high school. - and Housekeeping. Coming home to a refreshed room is such a pleasure and we unfortunately didn't have much of that. We specifically had to call and request our room made one morning and then the next night. Those were the only two times we had our room serviced and despite asking for ice and leaving the empty ice bucket near the gratuity on the bed, the ice bucket was just put back on the shelf empty. Will we come back? We loved it last time and it still took us 13 years to return. This trip having a few more 'meh' experiences might take another 13 years to return just because there's so many other places in the world to see. read more

This is review is only for the public areas as I was here for work at zero dark 30 hours. The resort is a compound consisting of a variety of restaurants and shops most notably the Boon Fly cafe. I learned that not only is there a resort but there also a small share of residents who live here as well. Price ranges per night from $500-1k depending on the season and the type of room you are paying for. What I found interesting is they use the term "neighborhoods" regarding the location of your room. Public areas pictured were nicely decorated for the holidays and was surprised to see the Hen House with some very robust and healthy looking birds. If you got the money, check this place out and if you don't have the money, I would check out Boon Fly cafe. read more

The most charming resort and spa equipped with everything and anything you need! We came here for our anniversary celebration and are already planning on coming back! Every cottage is adorable with a spacious room with amazing sliding doors that open all the way to the outside. There's a fire pie outside with seating and honestly it's so relaxing all you can hear are the birds chirping in the morning. My room had a fireplace, HEATED tile floors in the bathroom with a tub and standing shower (that leads to an outdoor shower as well!!!) and robes and slippers (and even UMBRELLAS!) in the closet. I loved everything about our room and our bed was seriously the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in my entire life! We love the pool (family one and adult one), we spent our time mostly at the adult pool and jacuzzi (which is heated) and the best part: it's open 24/7! Servers check on you daily, they even have cabanas and plenty of chairs and loungers and the view from the jacuzzi is immaculate. We had Boon Fly for breakfast (please order their donuts) and ate at The Farm for dinner (delicious!) Highly recommend this place, customer service is great, and I especially love that each cottage gets their own parking spot which is super convenient. read more

We (group of 4) will never consider any future bookings at this "Inn"...labeling this property as a resort is a stretch. We will return to the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley for our next stay. Day of arrival was less than warm and inviting. Valet staff did not acknowledge our vehicle as we approached the entrance...instead they were occupied with conversation with other staff. We had to approach valet staff to have our group/vehicle acknowledged. Check in was scripted and a bit forced....everyone in the group commented on this. Housekeeping was a 2 out of 5. Room cleaning staff performed their job as rote memory and not addressing guest needs. Towels were replaced in some rooms, not in others...evidence of a lack of continual training/supervision. The restaurant attached to the lobby was a 3 out of 5 rating. We returned the next evening to find out from another guest that there was an ala carte menu that was never suggested or mentioned the evening prior. Train your staff in making the guest experience a memorable one... here to, job seemed rote and not to the needs/likes of the guest. As for the property... old, lacking continual maintenance. Our cottage had multiple lights needing to be replaced, it is a safety liability for the guests at night. Door locks to all but two doors in the cottage were broken...did not lock. Outer doorway floor paneling to two of the doors ways were loose and with screws protruding...fortunately none of our guests were injured...we just avoided those doorways. All of this should have been resolved BEFORE we checked in...safety hazard/liability. Property maintenance and safety prevention for guests is not a priority. Bed bugs or fleas (either is a bad experience for guests)..two of our guest were bitten ... as evidenced by the cluster bites on their torso area and legs. As I read the other non stellar reviews on this property... there are common issues that continue and not addressed. For a property that considers itself being a luxury resort...this property has a lot of improvements to do in order to earn that reputation and to be considered a luxury resort. This place has officially become my favorite getaway! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every staff member went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the crab Benedict, lobster roll, and Caesar salad, which were all perfectly made and really outstanding dishes. I had an incredible time savoring the dishes alongside a perfectly paired glass of Veuve Clicquot. Beyond the food, the amenities truly made our stay unforgettable. We enjoyed a giant outdoor chess set, bocce ball court, a giant connect 4 game, a beautiful swimming pool, and a hot tub that the kids absolutely loved. Booking a room here was the best decision and it gave us the chance to fully enjoy everything this stunning winery has to offer. The adult infinity pool is so charming and surrounded by the most gorgeous scenery. I'm already looking forward to our next visit! I would like to preface my review by saying I initially only submit my review to Hilton. The hotel manager, Michael Ford responded to my review asking that I reach out to him directly for a solution. His message was essentially copy paste the response he sent to all of the negative reviews on here. I emailed him on July 9th. By July 16th I still had not received a response, so I followed up. I have still not heard back from him or anyone on his team. It seems that this hotel has poor customer service from the top down. We booked this stay using a free night voucher and 170,000 Hilton honors points and the quality of service did not match what was advertised, a luxury hotel. Had I known we would have such a terrible experience, I would have made reservations at the Appellatian in Healdsburg instead. When we checked into the hotel, they had us at the Lavender 1 cottage and the room was not as pictured on the hotel website photos. The backyard area was very grey and did not have a nice garden like in the photos from their website and the room layout was very odd. The bed was facing the patio instead of the TV and fireplace. Because it was facing the patio it was right next the AC which had a very bright light and made the temperature very cold at night. When we mentioned this to the bellman Mateo, he promptly had the manager, Simon call us. He said all the rooms were booked up for the night but since we are Hilton honors gold members he could offer us an upgrade for the next day. The upgraded room had a guaranteed check in at 4pm and Simon said that they would text us when it was ready. We were only hoping that they would switch us to a room that looked like what we booked so the thought of an upgrade was very nice. So, we agreed to the upgrade and tried to deal with the room for the night. Unfortunately, my partner and I both did not get a good night's rest that night. The smart bed did not work. We could not adjust the bed firmness. The link from the QR code would not update the user information. The lights from the ac and the alarm clocks were very bright and kept us up all night. The combination of the lights and the bed firmness made the whole experience awful. The next day we packed up all our things and called Simon to confirm the switch before heading to the pool. He said go ahead and that they would text us when the room was ready and someone would come drop off the keys to us wherever we were on property. While I was on the phone, I made sure to confirmed he had the right phone number on file. 4pm hit and we did not hear from the front desk staff, so we walked all the way from the Hilltop pool to the reception desk. When we got there, Kiri let us know that housekeeping was still working on our room and we wouldn't get it until 5. They could have at least text us that there was a delay so that we didn't have to walk all the way to front desk just to be told that we had to wait longer. It was a waste of our time. When I told her that we had dinner reservations celebrating my promotion at the FARM and that the room was guaranteed at 4 she made no effort to correct the matter or make it better. She just kept telling us that they just got the room and housekeeping was working on it. Her attitude and demeanor were very rude. We had just gotten out of the pool, and both wanted to shower, relax and get ready before going to dinner. It was extremely inconvenient that we had to change rooms to begin with. On top of that, they did not have the room ready at the promised time, and they made us do the leg work to find out there was a delay. Furthermore, the front desk staff treating us as second class guest after they made a mistake was unacceptable. For a hotel that's room rate is generally 2K a night, the service of the front desk staff was mediocre and left us with a bad taste. We have stayed at many hotels in the Hilton portfolio throughout the years and this hotel does not hold up to the Hilton standard of customer service. This is not the quality of service we expect from a hotel that is supposedly classified as luxury. The breakfast options were limited but taste was okay. Instead of continental breakfast they should have just provided food and beverage credit so we could order something better and pay the difference. At dinner, we asked the waiter what kind of Salmon they were serving and he had no idea what he was talking about. On previous online menus they had king salmon, so we just wanted to know if that was what they were serving. He kept saying it was California Salmon. We were asking about the breed, and they kept on telling us what region it was from. We did enjoy the many pockets of sitting area throughout the grounds particularly the swinging benches. The gardens were very nice. It was nice to sit with a glass of wine and a nice view. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family due to the poor service. There are many better hotels in within the area. read more

Staff is very friendly. Concierge is on site and accessible. Rooms are cottages mostly which is great if you bring fido. Grounds are spatious and well kept. Material condition needs improvement. Many things are run down. Seams were burst in chairs, lights are broken in our room and in courtyard. Room rates that include breakfast...but you still get a bill... what's up with that. No ice machines.... what's up with that? Not what I expected given the prices. read more

I've stayed at many properties throughout Napa Valley, and unfortunately, Carneros Resort and Spa was by far the worst experience I've had in the region. At first glance, the standalone bungalows seem charming, but the charm ends there. I stayed in Madrone 5 and was shocked by how poorly soundproofed the room was. I could hear every car door slamming, every suitcase being dragged across gravel, and every late-night or early-morning conversation happening outside. For the price, I expected peace and quiet - not to feel like I was sleeping in a parking lot. Things didn't improve with service. I left my room at noon and returned just before 7pm to find housekeeping hadn't touched it. No explanation, no apology. The "complimentary breakfast" was a joke: hard-boiled eggs and cheap diner-style coffee served in a pump dispenser. For a resort that charges luxury rates, this felt insulting. To top it off, dinner at the hotel's restaurant, FARM, was one of the worst meals I've ever had in Napa. My friend and I barely touched the food, it was that bad. This stay was a major letdown on every front. There are so many better options in Napa that offer actual hospitality, comfort, and quality. I won't be returning. read more

Wow! Wow! Wow! Staycation extraordinaire! Beautifully maintained grounds which you can walkabout and enjoy the amazing views of Carneros. We spent New Years Eve here and loved every minute. The executive chef personally delivered spoons of caviar to the guests. What was very noticeable was the staff (bartenders, restaurant, maintenance, checkin staff) were happy and friendly! Breakfast was memorable, the quiche custard was glorious and the fresh squeezed orange juice was perfection! The leadership and general management should be congratulated! read more

I've gone to Carneros a couple times now so I feel that I have something to contribute. We normally buy day resort passes and add spa treatments. It can be on the pricey side. Nonetheless, the spa is beautiful, peaceful, and clean (not in that order necessarily). The staff are uber helpful and pleasant. I was able to charge my. That's always a plus. Suzanne was my massage therapist. She was outstanding. I had some major stress in my back, she worked wonders. Afterwards, we laid out by the pool and ordered food and drinks. They played some relaxing and great music. I would definitely go back to treat myself. read more

This beautiful resort screams impromptu" weekend vacation!! " - especially when coming from San Francisco or nearby areas. What a gorgeous piece of land and swanky diggs nestled in Sonoma. This resort offers vineyard cabins, lush gardens, a spa, pool , tasting room, restaurant and more! Staff is extremely hospitable and attentive. Absolutely unacceptable. Carneros Resort & Spa is a joke for the price you pay. I don't normally leave reviews, but my recent experience at Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa was so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others. We booked a $1000-per-night cottage expecting a premium experience in Wine Country. What we got instead was something out of a nightmare: There was a MOUSE in the sofa bed when we arrived at our cottage. Yes, you read that right -- a live mouse inside the bed. Housekeeping discovered it and alerted management. Their solution? Simply moving us to another cottage. No real apology, no sense of urgency, just a quiet shrug and "here's a new room." My friend and her 8 year old daughter had been sitting on that couch for at least 30 minutes. We all know that mice pee and poop. Earlier In the backyard of the we found a small bee hive under the umbrella. Maintenance showed up, swatted at the bees, removed the hive, and dumped it on the ground. No cleanup. No safety measures. Just a hive lying there like trash in what's supposed to be a luxury resort. I voiced these concerns to management, expecting they would make this right. Instead, I was offered a bottle of wine, a few apples, and chocolate chip cookies. At this price point, that's not a gesture -- it's an insult. For what we paid -- over $500 for our stay -- this was a disgrace. I would have expected this kind of negligence at a roadside motel, not at one of Napa's so-called luxury resorts. There was nothing premium about this experience. The grounds may be beautiful, but the response to serious issues, and lack of professionalism from management were appalling. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Carneros Resort & Spa is all hype and no substance -- a luxury label slapped on a very subpar experience. A partial or full refund would've been the only acceptable outcome here. Instead, we left frustrated, disappointed, and ripped off. read more

we stayed there for our wedding, when we left we forgot something important in the room. We called them immediately and they said they will look for it as soon as possible, but no one can go to the room since it is being cleaned. And for 3 hours we called them multiple times to ask if they were able to find it. But no one actually went to look for it, they kept saying oh this is our top priority and we have circled it around our team and we will call you in ten minutes. But they never did anything and never find the item, and kept using bullshit reason as a response. So if you stay here, you would be paying a luxury hotel price for a motel level service. read more

If you want a luxury accommodation experience in Napa, this is IT. Great location. It's like it's own little gated village with cottages. The pool area is amazing. Restaurant top notch and outdoor dining and lawn area is some of the best I've experienced. What a gorgeous property. Definitely worth the splurge for that special occasion or those with very deep pockets. read more

I loved the heated tables, heated robe service after the message. Nice cozy areas to enjoy tea and chocolate dipped apricots. They do an amazing time keeping the locker rooms clean and stocked. We booked two cottages for ~$1,400 a night each, for 2 nights. Save your money and skip this resort. We arrived late the first night after flying 4 hours and driving 2 hours, to not have any bedding in the rooms for the pull out beds. In one of the cottages, none of the outlets in the bathroom worked for 2 days straight. We had to blow dry and style our hair in the living room with no mirror, ahead of attending dinner at the French Laundry. When the misogynist "engineer" came to address the issue unsuccessfully, he demanded to only speak to a male in our group. Don't also bother calling the front desk or concierge in the morning either - no one will answer even after 3 attempts. We were also given late check out, but no one reprogrammed our keys, which delayed our departure. When we communicated these concerns at check out, the front desk said someone from management would be reaching out to discuss further. No one has reached out, and it's been over 24 hours. read more

My now fiancé booked Carneros Resort & Spa for a weekend in December, for our surprise engagement trip! We were NOT disappointed! I'm not even sure where to start. Unfortunately, it was raining almost the whole trip to Napa. However, our experience was magical! I'd love to see this spot in the spring! It's like a private little village with amazing restaurants, an outdoor fire pit area, an adorable shop with items such as snacks, wine, a coffee bar, etc. This resort is truly so cozy! So, we arrive and the customer service completely blows our mind from the first moment. It doesn't end until we leave the state. Irvin stands out! He helped us with our luggage and showed us around the room. He was so kind, so friendly, and helpful. Front desk check-in complimentary glass of wine? Sure, why not?! Our room was great. Heated floors, alcohol, non-alcoholic, and snack options right there at your disposal, and a wine dispenser (most of the snacks and wine dispenser is an extra charge). The bed was insanely comfortable, like a cloud. Unfortunately, our wine dispenser was not working so when we got back from our first night of evening plans there were two complimentary wine bottles waiting for us on ice. The "backyard" or patio area was amazing. There is a gated patio area with a fire pit, lounge chairs, and outdoor shower and bathtub. This was truly a treat! Intimate and lovely. My now fiancé did a stellar job at choosing this place. He proposed to me in the intimate and private patio area in front of the fire pit and it's a memory I'll forever cherish. It was special and perfect, and we both appreciate how amazing the experience at Carneros was. The reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is because I do feel the rooms could be a bit updated & bigger. That being said, I would 10/10 stay here again and do absolutely recommend this place! read more

Who serves only one egg Benedict? This place does with side of bacon including a hair. Salt and pepper that's what I would call the flavors are as because majority of flavors have escaped. Only good thing about this place is hard working bell boys. Evening and brunch experience was so bad we went to near by Stanley ranch. For this price point the place was let down. We asked for quiet place , they gave the busiest room on the block, I guess it's hard to read notes. Move to four seasons or Stanley ranch it's not worth it. I am dreading to stay another night but couldn't wait to write this review. read more

I was here for a business meeting, so it's a bit different when you are not paying these rates yourself! The best part about this property or the individual cottages you really feel like you have your own private space and at night it is completely and I mean completely silent. The rooms are beautiful and have very high quality appointments. A few interesting observations... There is a wine machine in the room where you can pay for a glass of wine. The machine is refrigerated obviously so it makes a fair amount of noise and there is a large touchscreen on the front of it to make your selections. Everything stays on all the time so in the middle of the night with the lights off there is this glaring screen in the middle of the room. I called the front desk and they didn't have any idea how to turn it off and they told me that the company that supplies the wine and manages the machine is out of business so I just unplugged the machine altogether. One wall is essentially glass because there is a large window and glass door that leads out to your private patio. The drapes that cover that glass don't completely extend all the way, so whether you move it one way or another, at night, there is always some exposed glass showing, which means in the morning the light will come in the room. The staff at reception was very nice, but they seem to be young interns and didn't have the level of professionalism that I would expect from a facility like this. A great feature is they have a fleet of new Cadillacs that you can borrow for the day or however, long you need one. A great marketing concept and perfect for those who don't have a car and want to go exploring. We had dinner and a cocktail event at the pool area, and it was absolutely gorgeous and very well done. This is a great place for a wedding or just a long weekend getaway where all you want is peace, quiet, and serenity. read more

Desiree should not work at this establishment, she left my group stranded in the middle of Napa downtown. We booked a ride home from our event and then was told there were no rides to pick us up. If you can avoid coming to this resort, avoid it. She was so rude to us on the phone while we were trying to get back to the resort. There was no mention to us that there "might" be a ride back, we were told we would have a ride home once we were done with our event. It is so disappointing to pay so much money to this so called 5 star resort and be treated so disrespectfully. read more

We loved Carneros as our venue - we just had our wedding here a few days ago, and could not have asked for a more perfect experience. We selected this venue for the food (unbelievable quality for the number of people they are cooking for) and the flow of events. We loved the Arbor, where we did our ceremony, as well as the courtyard and ballrooms. The cocktails and wine were super tasty - you couldn't go wrong with anything, and even the default chairs were great. We were able to go until 12:30am, which is such a rarity in Napa. The staff was super friendly and accommodating as well. Everyone we worked with was super on top of it and professional. Jessica was super responsive, and the Carneros team gave us a ton of peace of mind. June is a beautiful time of year to get married here, since everything is blooming and stunning. You do need to stay on site, but that ended up working out perfectly with how the day played out! No venue in Napa is going to be "cheap," but we think we got an amazing value for what we paid for our 175 guests (again, a rarity in Napa that they can accommodate this number of people). Would a million times do it over again here at Carneros, and we loved it so much! We would love to return and hope our other friends have their weddings here as well so that we can eat the food here again :) read more

Beautiful resort and spa. The rooms are beautiful but a double felt a little cramped. The spa relaxation massage was good, could have been a better massage. The location is on the edge of Napa so when biking, the roads were a bit limited & felt slightly dangerous. The restaurant on site was good enough. I recently came back from this resort after staying there for a girls trip and I was very impressed! The resort grounds, staff, food, and cottages exceed expectations. When we arrived, the check-in was seamless and the bellman took us to our cottage via golf cart. I had a rental car, so I followed him in. The resort grounds is properly gated, so no unwanted guests can access unless they are a registered hotel guest. We were able to get an early check-in and received a welcome amenity which was a bottle of Domaine Carneros sparkling wine. We also had two rooms with king beds that fit the 4 of us comfortably. Our cottage was a walkable 3 minute distance from the spa where we went for our appointments and then came back to explore the rest of the resort. Our next few days were spent at the Hilltop Restaurant for breakfast and by the pool. There are farm animals nearby and their FARM restaurant sources all ingredients locally. It was also a good distance from all wineries while still feeling secluded. I highly recommend staying here. I also had rented an EV car and they had plenty of FREE charging stations to charge your car. Also, I was able to park next to my cottage which made transportation super easy. If you decide to visit the nearby wineries that are within a 5 mile radius, you can request a bellman to drive you and back - just give them a 20 minute notice to check for availability and it also FREE. The amenities made us all feel spoiled. I'll definitely be coming back. read more
