Asheboro Honda - Oil leak at different stages of my drive.

The staff is very kind and the facility was clean but if you are buying used and paying in cash please go somewhere else. I thought going to a major dealership would be better than a local side buy here pay here but boy was I wrong. When the gentlemen went crank the car the was a hesitation to start which he said the car hadn't been cranked in a while and it was probably smoking due that and the cold. We went for a test drive and heard some noise on the front left tire, and it was shaky. I should've walked away then. They offered to repair what they felt was the cause. I came back and the noise was gone. I paid cash in full, brought it home and by day 2 the door handle broke off, there was animal hair all in the creases of the seats (caused and allergic reaction to someone in the backseat). The dealership reimbursed the cost of the detailing and the door handle. Then found the Driver side speaker was blown and the bluetooth stopped working. Month the altenator went out and and the battery was weak. Two separate mechanics stated that the altenator was bad when I bought it and had been running off of the battery the entire which is why the hesitation every time it cranks. The salesman was 99% sure the wheel bearing had been changed out on that front left tire but when I received the documents all they had done was resurfaced the rotor which was a temporary fix and a practice that is being phased out due to it only being a temporary fix. There is still an oil leak that is still being looked into which is the reason the car is still smoking. At this point I can't give my daughter the car and it has been 3 months since purchasing it. Be careful even at a big dealership when buying used. A friendly smile will still take your money and sell you a headache.

Went to get them to take it back and they were showing me another wrecked car.

Same location on Dixie Drive in Asheboro,NC My appointment at 10AM. At 10:40 my Subaru drove into the driveway. This place is packed and has a single service lane 2 advisors along various techs. The services performed took longer than expected. However, the price was very reasonable.

I was told they would have to charge me for a diagnostic service fee to identify the problem on the car in order to be fixed. After paying almost $1300.00 dollars the car is doing the same thing with the same lights flashing on the instrument panel. I was originally told that it would be around $1100.00... I was told they replaced one of the coils and replaced a rapid fire fuel injector. I was also told that the oil was changed as part of the service. I was expected to pay a different price of over $1400.00 when I went to pick up the car and then had to debate that...Come to find out later when a potential buyer of the car was test driving it they returned the car to me stating it was doing the same thing I originally took it in for! I also learned that the service department did not change the oil because the indicator was showing less than 20%. The Receptionist stated to me that they included the oil change...The car is still not fixed and I would not recommend them to anyone buying a new or used car. Especially having any service work done. The service department manager quoted me that the diagnostic tests would fix the problem but they failed to repair properly. I RATE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT A ZERO.

I had the exact opposite experience with Asheboro ford. I was greeted outside on arrival, and lead through the showroom. I mention it because unlike most dealerships, they had classic vintage cars (and a little history lesson) on display. The building was clean and the staff was polite and helpful. I told them what I needed, and they delivered under budget and a price I simply couldn't beat anywhere else. The process was streamlined and efficient so I didn't have to spend the entire day sitting at the dealership. Every person I met was so nice and helpful, including the owner! They made me feel like a VIP buyer even for a used vehicle purchase. I will never purchase from another dealership, they've earned my business and my trust. Thanks so much Asheboro ford!

I'm speaking about the service department not the sales department. I actually bought my used 2013…read morefrom Van York in High Point but the vehicle was originally sold from Asheboro Ford. I recently took my vehicle for a service. Oil change, check fluids, check brakes, etc. Well, the receptionist comes out says I need a new drive belt, the left rear tire is bald on the inside and should get the vehicle aligned. I said I'll come back later for that. My brother is a diesel mechanic and I always have him check behind the service department. He did change the drive belt which is the only belt on a 2013 Explorer. He checked the inside of the tire and there was no bald area to speak of. He did say I should align it just in case. Well, I needed to get the vehicle state inspected and so I made an appointment for that. This appointment is barely a month after the last appointment. So the receptionist comes out tells me the drive belt is worn, remember my brother changed it out barely a month ago, and then she says both rear tires on the inside are now bald and my battery is leaking. Ok, batteries will leak when they get older, no big deal. The drive belt is brand new, granted something could be wearing it down, but I doubt it. I told her my brother just changed it out a month ago and she says hold on let me go confirm it with the technician. She comes back and said the technician said he sees the AC belt is new but the drive belt is the one that is worn. I'm thinking to myself the explorer only has one serpentine belt that runs everything which includes the AC. That was my first red flag! Both rear tires being bald on the inside is stretching it considering this vehicle doesn't get driven that much. Plus, it does not drift to one side or the other while going down the road. It rides smooth. They said nothing about the other rear tire being worn last month and now it's both that's bald inside. The was the second red flag! So I just say ok I'll set something up later to fix all this. Needless to say the Ford place didn't do the inspection. My dad decides to take it to another place to get the state inspection and told the mechanic to check what the ford place said was wrong. Needless to say the mechanic at this other place couldn't see any issues. I will not be doing business with Asheboro Ford anymore. Side note I will also be getting my brother to check these so called issues the Ford place said was wrong. I'm sure my brother won't see anything wrong as well. Asheboro Ford service department is scamming people and I highly recommend you not to do business with them.

My friend worked there for three years and not only did they screw her in the service department INTENTIONALLY misdiagnosing her car as needing THOUSANDS in repairs, they terminated her employment and her health insurance benefits even though she was one of the top salespeople every single month and had zero issues until she had to report her manager to HR for buying illegal drugs at work, abuse, retaliation, etc. Instead of doing the right thing, they tried to offer her a very small amount of "Gag money" hoping she would be desperate enough to take it especially now that they had forced her into two car payments and she's a type 1 diabetic single mother of 3 - they really thought she would give up her rights to even SPEAK of what they have done to her because they offered her 1/8th of her salary for "severance pay." She's told me some horror stories of service screwing people because it's "their job and they're told to leave their integrity at the door," of salespeople and finance trying to screw little old ladies out of money, things that would just blow your mind. If they can treat someone that made them a ton of money this way, how will they treat you? Think about it. When she can speak out, she intends to. Newspaper, evening news, this is a story to be told and unless they significantly increase their offer, she's going to move forward with a lawsuit and keep her rights to speak! As a side note, because of the stress she's currently been admitted to the hospital going on day 3 and found out that the hospital benefit they took out of her last check won't pay out because they specifically called the company and told them to terminate it on 5/3. She will have to file an appeal. They also took out hundreds of dollars for a rental they claimed she had up to the morning they terminated her although she was forced to buy another car at the end of the previous month. So they one hundred percent falsified documents to steal from her. Doctors are telling her the infection she's fighting has only gotten worse because of the stress. They knew she was battling a serious health issue and she had just submitted FMLA paperwork, but before the deadline, they wrongfully and illegally terminated her employment. Think about this next time you even consider taking your car to Modern for service or buying a car from there. They don't care about people. Only MONEY.
