In my defense, I was cautious about the cost because many dentists (including Dr. Feintuch) are notorious for trying to bang you out for money with disregard for quality work. Case in point. I saw two dentists since. One before the tooth came out and they did a free exam in order to create a plan, (no x-rays). The other (that fixed my tooth) showed true care and does exemplary work. She took an x-ray and invested over 45 minutes to fit the tooth properly, thoroughly cleaned inside my the bone/tooth to get it flush. We then discussed a plan with different options, short term and long term fixes, I was there for well over an hour... the cost? $200 and it was an emergency visit!! Feintuch took ten minutes, the tooth fell out in a month for $500. My new dentist, took 45 minutes, charged $200! Guess who I'm going back to, to drop a chunk of money to fix my teeth? The new dentist said $500 for x-rays and cementing a tooth was exorbitant, and it seemed she was being tactful. I am now excited to embark on fixing my teeth with a reputable, honest dentist. And while I had/have sufficient funds to fix my teeth the entire time, I refuse to be taken advantage of. I simply cannot trust the type of dentist like Feintuch based on my personal experience with his office, but it's telling that he blames me for being wary of cost. Lastly, I feel based on my personal experience that Dr. Feintuch is a rip off. read more

Do not, under any circumstances go with Stew Feintuch dental work. You will regret, as I do, for the rest of your life! He did horrible, unprofessional work on installing bridge and further treatment. Doctors are supposed to treat, not butcher as he did to my mouth. Less than two years ago he installed a new bridge, which was not great from the beginning, gaps with food pockets and constant inflammation. In the past 4 month visited him 6 (Six) times with the same bridge... was getting loose, nocking and rocking. Severe inflammation, 5 times different antibiotics and the past 4 month. At one of the visits, he cut off a piece of gum to get it bleed, because inflammation was so bad. Stew was sending me back home saying its going to be ok. No, it did not. Awful inflammation again and again, swelling into my gum, cheek, and eye so bad, that I could not even see things. Bridge was loose so bad that one could see how it was moving up and down, and yet, he sent me home suggesting coming back what it falls. At the 5th visit he final sent me to a surgent, who was shocked by so much puss in my teeth and jaw; abscess was so severe, that whole bridge was cut in pieces, 2 teeth were extracted with surgery, and antibiotics again. Now, because of his negligence, (he was blaming my bad teeth and bad bite, -Dahh- I came to fix that), I have no bridge, no teeth... And Stew called me "an angry man" twice, walked away on me while I was still in his dental chair... and no one from his returning my calls. Sound like a story for a horror movie. Please, people, read this review and think twice before even calling this dentist. read more

I came in for a cleaning and to discuss treatment for overcrowded teeth. The hygienist in Dr. Feintuch's office, Ronya, was tremendously thorough, knowledgable and friendly. She took X-rays, explained my situation to me with clarity, and gave me a referral for follow-up treatment with an orthodontist. Definitely will be coming back! read more

He over billed my insurance, booked extra appointments to drag out my root canal, dismissed my multiple calls about pain and then refused to take any responsibility for the defunct tooth cap that cost my $900 AFTER insurance. I was a patient here in 2016. Needed to find a place close to home so picked these guys based on reviews on Yelp and my insurance. The cleaning and exam was pretty standard. I had been having some occasional tooth pain in one of my molars and my previous dentist wanted to try exploratory root canal which freaked me out (reason for this is because they couldn't observe a crack or anything that would cause it on any X-rays). Dr. Feintuch was also not able to see anything but recommended to wait and see what happens. To some, maybe the exploratory root canal was the way to go...but for occasional pain, I was pleased to have someone say it wasn't anything to worry about yet, but rather let's monitor. The office isn't anything fancy like some are out there, but it is clean and that's what matters. The staff is really very pleasant. The receptionist had called the day of my visit and I confirmed that I'd be there. On the way there on the subway from work my phone died and I hadn't written down the address. After a while of frantically wandering around the area I thought it was in and walking into a few dentist offices that were not the right place I finally found it. I felt SO bad about being late and do you know what the receptionist did?? She said "We were so worried about you because you had confirmed this morning and you didn't show up for your time slot". Instead of being mad or rude, they showed compassion and were able to see me still even though I was late. That is the kind of thing I would return for. Highly recommend!!! I usually have lots of anxiety about going to the dentist. After my visit, I can now say my fears have diminished. Rania (hygienist) has the most gentlest hands. I was beyond relieved and completely relaxed as soon as she began working on me. She was very thorough and took her time to explain how I can better take care of my teeth. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Feintuch. He was kind enough to talk to me on the phone before my visit and scheduled my appointment to accommodate my crazy work schedule. When I came to see him he was kind, gentle, very knowledgeable and had a great "chair side" manner. He took an x-ray of the area in which I was having a problem and discussed it with me at length. Great dentist for common dentist work, I first went their with a lot of pain and everyone was so accommodating. Due to my great experience I chose to get veneers which have been so awful and less than satisfying. First I was given the impression i would have the smile I explained I hoped for. I did four front teeth at 4000$. They were terrible. I was then told for the look i wanted I needed one more on each side done. Another 3000$. Again horrible. The thing that upsets me is that we look at pictures and discussed a desired look. I would accept the answer "it's not doable" but to be given the confidence I would get this and not is heart breaking. More so, the last time I went in I explained I was going away soon and so I didn't need to get the additions right away - he insisted it would be done in time. They were, but immediately I knew I hated them and so I was left with the options of keeping temps in for another week ( by this time I would be away for two weeks as i had previously explained) or keeping what I had with no correction. I sent emails after requesting the veneers he ordered and no response, TOTALLY ignored. FYI 9000$ for a 25 year old is a huge deal. Please do share the before and after, as well as my itemized receipt - so disgusted. read more

Root canal is the prototype of bad experiences for a reason. But it went as smoothly as possible with Dr. Feintuch. My procedure came out to be pretty expensive even with my premium dental insurance, but I think that was inevitable. Most people who work in the office are really nice. I called Dr. Feintuch's office yesterday afternoon because my tooth was hurting and Joanne at the front desk squeezed me into their schedule as an emergency appointment and even worked around my work schedule. I arrived for my appointment and everyone was ready for me. Joanne (hopefully I spelled her name right) greeted me by name and I immediately knew these guys are organized and on point. The only real waiting time was when I was filling out the paperwork, which took no more than 5 minutes. I met with almost everyone in the office and they all knew my name and were very friendly. In additional, they were very professional and thorough. I found out that I needed a root canal and they immediately prepped everything, explained the insurance portion and the procedure. The doc also has cool gadgets, he can show you what's going on with your teeth with a camera. Long story short, the procedure was fast and painless. Everything was covered by my insurance. They have a way of making you feel that they've known you forever; this is very comforting when you know someone is going to drill into your tooth haha. And scheduling is seamless, thanks to Joanne. I definitely recommend Dr. Feintuch's office to anyone who doesn't typically like dentists, doctors, needles, etc., like myself. read more

The worse experience. Dr. Feintuch is in my in my network. Because my tooth chip-off I saw the dentist. After examination, I learn that one of my tooth needed root canal even that I did not experience any pain. The root canal procedure was not done correctly and got infected. Additionally the crown was not fitted properly and I am experiencing problem with my jaw. As result I am seeing another dentist. read more

I came across Dr. Feintuch's dental office on yelp and decided to call based on the reviews... I had called over 20 different dental offices with no luck for what I needed, either their prices were ridiculous or they didn't have appointments that fit my schedule. I had a "sort of" dental emergency and Dr Feintuch was able to take me in the same day. The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional from the very first moment I called to make an appointment to the moment I left the office. Dr. Feintuch was amazing! I was very nervous about my situation and he was able to put me at ease. He explained everything and was very thorough and patient. He is not only a good dentist but he is also a very kind person. I don't have insurance, and their prices are very reasonable compared to the other 20 dentists I had contacted before. I had what one would call a dental emergency. I was in excruciating pain, found Dr. Feintuch's practice on my unions list and then here on Yelp. The reviews were good enough for me to call and trust a doctor I've never met before. The receptionist on the phone was extremely helpful and pleasant and was able to make me an appointment asap. Walking into the office for my appointment, the receptionist right away knew who I was and was extremely inviting and warm. The amount of pain I was in was beyond any pain I could handle... literally brought to tears. I was brought into a room where the dental hygienist, was also patient, calm and very helpful. Within a minute of sitting in the room, I was greeted by the doctor. Dr. Feintuch immediately gave me a shot to alleviate the pain... I'm not lying when I say within seconds the pain was gone. Right then and there this practice has won my trust and has gained a new patient. After a full series of xrays were done, I did receive a painless cleaning, while I waited for the doctor to finish his previous procedure. In conclusion, I had to have a tooth pulled. The procedure was painless and done in 5 minutes tops!!! I was blown away by the professionalism, courtesy and just my over all experience. I have been going to this place since the beginning of the year (or so), and I am extremely pleased with the attention and care received. I had deep cleaning done by Dr. Feintuch's team and after 2 sessions, I am clean as a whistle and better prepared to deal with plaque. I can't say enough good things about the team at Dr. Feintuch's office. I've had a lot of work done there over the past few years, and have so appreciated their patience in not only explaining what needed to be done and why, but with breaking down payment explanations for me, and helping me prioritize what to get done so it was affordable. My love for Dr. Stuart Feintuch runs DEEP! Deeper than a root canal, baby. I cannot say I've been with his practice forever but I can say that I plan to be as long as he'll take me (and my insurance) as a patient! Lil' Story: New Year's Day 2009. My porcelain veneer canine tooth falls out. Like, plop. Bloop. Falls out. This veneer WAS NOT Dr. Feintuch's work to be very clear! I've seen his work and when I can afford it, I will have a mouth full of Feintuch veneers. Needless to say, I'd hastily and stupidly gotten veneers without doing my research and had regrets, poorly done veneers and a missing tooth on New Year's Day 2009. My husband was at work. I had a cold. It was snowing out. I had a 4 month old. And I had no tooth in my head, just a nub from where the awful previous dentist had filed me down to a horror movie scene of what a tooth might look like if you filed it with a foot pumice. Awful. So what'd I do? I called 1-800-DENTIST (props to them, too!) The glumly warned me I may not get to see anyone on New Year's Day and I had anticipated that which was part of my growing panic. The very nice 1-800-DENTIST associate took my information, put me on hold (a long hold punctuated by her telling me she was going dowwwwwwn the list of dentists in my area). Lo and behold I hear a man's voice, "Hello? This is Dr. Feintuch, what seems to be going on?" I'd never met him. I was not his patient. He lives out of the 5 boroughs and I live in Brooklyn, over an hour's drive at the least. I told him my tale of woe. He seemed hesitant. I mean, he was over an hour away, spending time with his family on New Year's Day in his pajamas! Then he heard my newborn cry. "You have your baby with you?" I started crying. "Yes." He sighed a sweet, paternal sigh, "Can you be at my office in two hours?" I said I'd have to see if I could find a sitter, I'd never had one. "Bring the baby!!" He said. When I got to the office, he was unconcerned with money or insurance or anything else. He was concerned about my tooth. He put a temporary crown on it. Cooed over the baby. He took wonderful care of both of us. He even offered to drive us home. Long story long: Dr. Feintuch is a one-of-a kind. He drove hours back and forth on a snowy New Year's Day to take a patient in need. And now he's stuck with me for life. Beyond him being the ultimate mensch Dr. Feintuch is also the finest, most thorough, competent and gentle dentist. He has state of the art equipment I've seen in no other office from here in good 'ole Bay Ridge to Park Avenue. His staff is kind, warm and the office is like the "Cheers" of dentists' offices: everyone knows your name. And your kids' names. They are the finest practice and I cannot recommend him more highly. It was a Godsend when I was sent to Dr. Stuart Feintuch's office in Bay Ridge. I called the office and after a professional exam with modern updated equipment, we sat and he proceeded to tell me how I was going to get my smile back to what it was as a teenager. Being #8 in a family of 10 we were lucky to have dental visits when we were kids. Working as a realtor in Bay Ridge for the past 20 years, I know my first asset was my smile, well he gave me a lifetime of being proud to smile, which is who I am. Dr. Feintuch is truly a dentists dentist. He is the BEST at what he does. He is calm and therefore very reassuring. He is very smart and knows exactly what he is doing. Nothing seems to fluster him. I am not a fan of going to the dentist(I have a small mouth, no time, teeth are weird- take your pick). I have a waterpick and a soniccare and it's been able to get me by... until it couldn't. I did a search for dentists in my area and not only were others raving about his practice but his name was right too. Dr Feintuch has the right touch! The office was professional and helpful. Everyone was very nice and courteous. PJ was great and put me at ease. No judgment about me not having been to the dentist in some 8 years, just willingness to fix my problem. Turns out I needed a root canal which they did same day and numbed me up real good so I didn't even feel a thing. I'll go back in a week for capping and done. The office hours are excellent and easy to schedule appointments. Just call Joanne and she'll get you right in! Average experience at the office. My one star is for the experience I had seven months later. I am now a veteran. 7 months ago, I had my annual appointment with this poor excuse for a professional. My active duty military insurance paid for the appointment a few weeks after the appointment, and I have the paperwork saying that everything was paid in full by insurance. This was in May 2013. Today, 12-17-13, I recieved a call from the dentist saying that if they are not paid by the first of the new year, they would go after me for the amount "owed." I explained to them that they were paid, and I have the supporting documents. They said they have no record of it, and that they are going to go after me. After I hung up on them, I called my insurance company, and they also have the record of payment. I conference called the office, and they hung up on me. After a second conference call, they said that they had been paid and they didn't realize they were. They didn't care that I was a veteran, they didn't care that I had the paperwork saying they were paid, they didn't care that they waited 7 months to tell me they hadn't been paid, they didn't care if they threatened me, etc.. It's pretty pathetic that there are medical professionals going after active duty, and veterans for 200 bucks. I will NEVER recomend that anybody even call this dentist. Dr. Feintuch is very friendly as well, came in the room before my cleaning and X-rays to introduce himself and tell me about the process. He was thorough in his explanation which made me feel comfortable which is big considering I never liked going to a dentist and had experienced poor service from others. Prior to coming to Dr. Feintuch, it had been years since I'd been to the dentist due to fear from some painful experiences in the past. Since I waited so long, I needed a lot of work! From the very start, making an appointment was easy and staff was very friendly over the phone. They answered all my questions and explained what the first appointment would entail. Since then I have been there several times to get a root canal, post and a crown. I will never, ever ever go to any other dentist again. Dr. Feintuch is an amazing dentist, he is remarkably thorough in his work. In addition, which to me is extremely important is the fact that these procedures were 100% pain free. If you don't believe me, then you'll just have to make an appointment for yourself. Oh and one more thing...if you want the dental work to last, this is the guy to go to...once you get something done....its done! Dr. Feintuch and his staff went above and beyond for my daughter. We had a unique situation (mom in California and daughter in college in New York), and she needed some crown work done ASAP. Not only did they work with me, they made special arrangements with my daughter to make sure everything was done in time. They communicated with me and made me feel as if I were there! Dr. Feintuch was amazing (the daughter, although the father is at the same practice). My last dentist had me coming in 4 times for one filling - she could never seem to do anything in one visit, either because she was hurting me or didn't have time or wanted to charge for more visits, who knows. Meanwhile, Dr. Feintuch had me in to put on a crown and literally did a (virtually pain-free) root canal in the same visit because she had some time in her schedule and I wanted to get it done this year to use my insurance.
