Dr Valerie venterina is one of the worst dentists ive ever seen. She will push everything on you and is worried about how your teeth LOOK vs how they actually are. My wife went in for a crown, and she immediately asked her why she didnt have braces and was trying to push things on her. She also immediately tried to push laser cleaning on me, and a crown with vaneers on my one tooth and wanted $1200.00. I aint funding your Mercedes, lady. Stop being so pushy with your new patients and maybe they'll come back. Went to another dentist and they told me none of what she reccommended was necessary. Shes very money hungry, beware. If I could give zero stars I would. This is unrelated to a doctor's service but specifically to her office which I found rude and unprofessional. So I booked an appointment for my mom to see Dr. Valerie Venterina for a consultation and everything was fine and I was reassured that she will be seen by a doctor even though my mom doesn't speak English, just basics. Once she got there, her name was crossed they told her that she will not be seen by a doctor because my mom doesn't speak English. The receptionist was rude and arrogant and unprofessional. My mom took a day off specifically because of this appointment. I have never heard that someone will be denied access to a doctor and appointment will be canceled because of your lack of language skills. So, this is the ethics of this office. The worst dentist ever, did nothing but insult me and scare me. No care or comfort at all. I have to say I was so disgusted. The vibe felt very scammy. She didn't even ask how I was or examine me, came in handed me a folder and told me I had to see the periodontist but it's not covered. II said well I knew I'd need to see one and I had to see her for a referral and that my coverage says I am covered. Then she say well ours doesn't take your coverage. Well? Which is it? She didn't show me X-rays I asked her to bc in all my 52 years a dentist usually shows you the X-rays and tells you what's going on. She asks do you know what your reading I said idk you show me. She didn't. So I said don't you want to look at my mouth see if I need a Cleaning or anything. She says no if you get a cleaning your teeth will fall out. I have one loose tooth! She looks and tells me to see the periodontist again and say "you have 50% bone loss". I can't wait to see another dentist and see if this is bs or not. So go talk to the office manager and talk about the cost of the periodontist who doesn't take my coverage. $7,500 out of pocket to do laser because the old method is barbaric, you don't want that. Freak me out some more thanks!! So now I have to do a run around and try to find a decent dentist and person to help me with this. Also, not once did anyone give me any care instructions on how to manage this and not make it worse. They just gave me the good old folder w all kinds of irrelevant brochures. I want to know how this woman is still allowed to practice. How come she hasn't been reported to some board or whatever. My next google adventure. After finding out where the real dentists are. A dentist who has respect and some Modicum of a bedside manner so to speak. I hate to give negative review but if I could give 0 stars I would. Good thing I have no problems with my teeth and just need 2 cleanings a year. after waiting for almost 2 hours the hygienist cleaned my teeth so fast I don't even know if the cleaning lasted more than 5 minutes. What hygienist does not clean in between every tooth or use floss what a waste of time and a cleaning used from my insurance thank god I didn't pay out of pocket. I had decided to visit Dr. Valerie Venterina's dental office with the goal of having an annual dental check up and cleaning. My choice was based on google and zocdoc reviews which I now believed are mostly fake. I first called up the office to scheduled an appointment. The receptionist I talked to was curt and not very friendly. I managed to scheduled an appointment which had to be a Monday, they only take new patients on Mondays. Fine, I take a day off from work just so I don't have to rush. I arrived early for my appointment, there were two other patients waiting in front of me, it took 45 minutes before I was told to go in which was past my appointment time by then. The waiting area and office is a bit dated but overall looked clean. The receptionist and most of the assistants in the office were polite and professional, that was about the only positive part of my visit to this office. They took x-rays, then had me sit down in the dental chair. Dr. Venterina came in shortly, looked around in my mouth for perhaps 30 seconds and then promptly told me I needed a deep cleaning and an appointment with a Periodontist. Then immediately handed me a folder filled with dental treatments and diseases, all ready for me on the counter and without stepping out to get it. Did nothing else, no questions about how I care for my teeth or mentions of the condition of my teeth or how to better care for my teeth. She then handed me off to an assistant to schedule a deep cleaning, laying out all the prices, and an appointment with the Periodontist. Of all the dental offices I've been to this place comes off as shady and uses scare tactics. Very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Venterina and I would not recommend. He spent all of 30 seconds looking in my mouth before saying I was "good" and missing the part where I told him about the pain that has brought me in. This Doctor is a scam artist, I made the appointment for my wife because she was having severe pain. I called and made sure that they took my insurance, i was told they did. After waiting two and a half hours in the smallest waiting room i have ever seen, My wife was seen and was told that she would need 18 yes 18 root canals, a wisdom tooth removed and some antibiotics for an infection. The Doctor then tried to get my wife to finance the dental work, my wife told them that we have insurance and that we never pay for the dentist. The Doctor told her that these were mandatory copay charges that everyone has to pay. We did not believe her so we left and went for a second opinion, and unbelievably my wife only needed one root canal and one tooth removed, and we paid nothing because are insurance covered everything. If you are looking for a dentist stay away from this one she is a scammer. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL OFFICE TO ANYONE. Would not give her any stars if I could. By the way this review was written two years (2014) ago but I never posted it up. I finally left her practice and I think other people considering her should see this: Even thinking about them makes me angry. I have been a patient of this center for 4-5 years and Dr. Valerie Venterina is supposed to be my dentist. I have seen her in person maybe 3 times in person. Each time I go in for a cleaning (every half a year), the hygienist looks over my teeth, cleans it in less than 3 minutes and then sends me out the door. I went in most recently, about two weeks ago and was told that my teeth was looking good. After the cleaning, I told them I was considering Invisalign and that's when I got to FINALLY speak to the Dr. V. She was not very attentive and did not lay out different options for me. It only seemed like she was trying to pick out the option that would make the most money for her office. When I told her that I was considering Invisalign because my wisdom teeth (that came in a few years ago) had pushed one of my front teeth a bit, she looked into my mouth and then told me I should have had removed the wisdom teeth long before. At that point, I was livid-- if I hadn't asked about Invisalign, I wouldn't have even been able to talk to the dentist in person. On top of this, my teeth would not need Invisalign in the first place if she had been attentive and told me to remove my wisdom teeth years ago. Anyway, after my brief talk with her, I was sent off to their front desk area where a lady started writing up a contract for the Invisalgin (mind you, I didn't even confirm I wanted it yet) and was told about my future payment plan. I told them I was not sure yet, took the contract (obviously unsigned) and left feeling incredibly dissatisfied with the service there. I've worked for a dental office for two years in the past so I know good care when I receive it. I immediately called up that dentist that I used to work for and asked to see her (she's not within my network which is why she wasn't my primary dentist in the first place). This other dentist was attentive, engaging and actually personally took the time and effort to examine all my teeth (something Dr. V did not do) and spoke to me about all of my different options. And on top of this, after her examination, she told me that I actually had 8 cavities! And I was literally at Dr. V's office 2 weeks before that and was told by the hygienist that everything looked good (Dr. V herself never examinedmy teeth). This just goes to show how much this center cares about their patients! They don't! They're all about getting the money and those insurance claims-- not about putting their patient's interests first! SUCH A TERRIBLE PRACTICE-- they definitely lost me as a patient. read more

I had xrays done and a cleaning. Everything was perfect. I saw the dentist for 5 minutes and she didn't really exam my teeth. I told her I have bleeding gums and she said don't worry about this just use a water pick. I've been seeing a periodontist for several years to take care of the bleeding gums, how could this dentist tell me not to worry about it. I've never had a dentist exam my teeth without looking in my mouth for more then 5 seconds. read more

Went to her with a broken tooth, she decided to take a metal pic to put inside of the tooth which had me seeing stars!!! I cannot tell you how loud I screamed and I couldn't stop crying. I wasn't able to open my mouth for a week, when I tried it felt like I was chewing a battery. Another time I went for a cleaning and i lose a tooth!!! There was NO sympathy and compassion for me especially it not being my fault. I had to pay for a flipper and all they did was set me up for a bridge or an implant. I shouldn't have had to pay anything when it wasn't my fault it happened! I should have been given the implant for free. This place is a disgrace! I told everyone I know not to ever go here. If you want to save money and you teeth this is NOT the place for u. Horrible!!! Just horrible!!! I now have the lowest self esteem due to this case. My tooth she knocked out is noticeable when I talk or smile. When they sent me a survey via email I told them all that I just mentioned. All she did was call me saying she wants to explain my coverage to me. My coverage has nothing to do with what happened. The doctors & staff are very professional, courteous & also very helpful! My teeth are perfect & my smile is very bright & receive many compliments! I've never write any review before, this place got me fuming. The doctor only work on a certain day of the week, fine, took a day off from work to see the doctor, then you can't get your teeth clean on the same visit, fine, made a appointment to get the cleaning done for family of 4, then they can't make the appointment for 3:30 because they can't do all 4 at that time, fine, pick up the kids from school early to the appointment, then when I got there, they told me I only make appointment for 2 people, when I tell them I did make 4, then they tell me the girl that made the appointments didn't put it in, now nobody apologized for the mistake, and I have to reschedule for the kids, then a week later they call and says the hygienist is not in on that date, they have to reschedule, now i here and they tell me my appointments was for last month not today. I've visited this dentist office twice so far. Both times have been a pleasant experience. Yes the waiting area is really small but the office is clean and updated. The staff is courteous and friendly. The doctor did not try to up sale me on services. She was informative and had a good bedside manner. I would recommend this office. read more

I went to the center for dental excellence because I had a toothache, I had broken a rootcanalled tooth. I saw the doctor and she referred me to an oral surgeon. My time there was short so I can't really give a full review but they were all very nice and even called the next day to see how I felt. The place was very clean which is very important to me. The waiting area is cramped though, very small for the volumn of patients. read more

To this day,even though I told her I have full coverage and want all my work done by her,she has not put in for the work to be done in my opinion she is not a good dentist she is just good at making appointments and making money. My family and I have been patients at her practice for the past 3 years...we go about twice a year and we've maybe seen the Doctor 2 or 3 times..most of the time we get a cleaning and Dr. Venterina is MIA. After a year, I questioned when my son who was 5 at the time was going to have xrays done and their response was they didn't take xrays on children. The dr examined his mouth and told me everything was fine. I finally wisened up and took him to a pediatric dentist and discovered 4 cavities in between teeth that aren't visible without xray. 1 cavity was so deep that he required a pulpotomy! I was going to bring this up to Dr. Venterina at my last appt, but again, I had my cleaning and the staff told me that she would review the xrays later (which I had to remind them I needed) and if there was a problem I would get a call...WTF? What doctor doesn't examine their patients?...needless to say, I will be searching for a new dentist before we all end up needing root canals... read more
