I'll be the first to admit after being a crumps customer for years I Was a bit skeptical when this place switched hands, and didn't have the best experiences at first. They lost my parts (I'd like to say they misplaced my machine but they eventually found it so I'll let that one go), they never called me back, it was a nightmare. HOWEVER.......Seems as though the new owner has got the kinks worked out and now has great staff over there who know their stuff and are always happy to help. Mechanics are thorough and even willing to take a minute to answer a question if I have one which is hard to find in some places. Brad at the front has been in the business for years and really knows his stuff, and the young lady who works with him is quick and friendly. Really happy to see this place finally thriving. Unfortunately another hometown business falls victim to the non existence of customer service - the I don't care what you think or how I treat you - I don't need your business mentality- is the treatment I got today along with "get out of my store" when I was explaining my dissatisfaction of the service I didn't get mainly a phone call I was told I'd receive within an hour (that was 2 weeks ago!) and the fact that I was told blades would be sharpened as a "courtesy"to residential customers who come in with repairs - but wasn't done. When I questioned if it had been - they had "forgotten" I must say I'm totally dissatisfied with the customer service at this establishment. A reason to settle for the big box stores where you expect that kind of service but in reality they are for the most part very accommodating!! Home Depot and Lowes - thank you!! read more

I brought my Husqvarna 128cd in for carburetor adjustment cause we had to leave the choke on partially for it to run that was on march 11th 2024 this was at the stuart store cause grumps where i have been bringing all my small engine equipment for repairs was closed down there at grumps the service and the customer support was awesome so then i got stuck going to the stuart shop and found out quick that they have no concerned for customer service or contacting the customer I went down there today April 2nd to get my weedeater cause its been no contact with me about what or when i would be getting my equipment back this is the worst disconcerting of a business that in my 75 years that i ever been to they should get rid of this attitude they need the customers the customer does not need them read more

This company took our tractor a month after we called about repairing it out of our yard when we weren't home without permission, we called to get them to return it, they would not, said we had to come pick it up or pay for the service. We said we didn't authorize them to pick it up. I just called to say we were going to rent a trailer to come get it, then they said they don't have it anymore, they repaired it and sold it. They literally stole our tractor and sold it to someone! read more

Troybilt sent me here when the pullcord on my new edger would not retract (Warranty w/ paperwork). Upon completion of work Crump owner called to inform me there was a labor charge, because the warranty is only for 90 days. I had a Troybilt representative contact and informed them the repairs were covered for the next 2 years, at which point I assumed the matter resolved. However, on the schedule pickup date they refused to honor the warranty and I had to pay the labor fee. When I referenced the paperwork and phone calls provided they informed me the reason for not honoring the warranty is because they are an authorized Troybilt repair shop... not a dealer (Troybilt reimbursed my money and apologized for the poor customer service). Upon recieving my edger the front wheel was visibly damaged. When I asked the owner what happened he replied "it must have been damaged when you dropped it off." They repaired the wheel only after I showed them photos I had taken of the damage -free edger in their showroom on the day I delivered it. Would never consider doing business or recommend them to anyone. Also provided Troybilt with a followup. read more

Crumps takes good care of me - they always call with estimate and explanation. I went to a couple other places before I found them and now just there with my Honda Mower. Took my lawn tractor in because the brake pedal was vibrating. I was told by the "mechanic" that I probably needed a new belt and an idler pulley. When I picked it up today I questioned the bill with the "mechanic" because they replaced three blades and "topped off" the oil. The ounce or two of oil was $4.50 and the unasked for blades was $41.85. Putting on blades and a belt involved $5 in shop parts, wonder what this was for? I could be wrong, but I thought doing unauthorized repair work was illegal. I have been going to Crumps for a very long time...NEVER again! read more
