I've driven by here hundreds of times and always wanted to stop. The pictures on Yelp always look so good. Tonight we drove over just to eat here.. The pizza is sooooo good. We also got the tater kegs as an appetizer. They are stuffed with cheese and bacon. They were good. We came on a Friday night. They were really busy so it took a while to get our food. They do a good takeout business too. You order at the counter and if you are dine-in they bring the food to your table. Looks like high school kids working the front so they don't seem to be good at restocking silverware or bringing plates out with your appetizer. But it's all good. It's your typical pizza style place inside. They have ice cream shop and arcade games too. They were playing good ol' 60's music but it was not loud enough to be heard over the noise. read more

Had them make me a deep dish..top of the line! Service was 5 star all the way..beer options were great with frosted mugs. What a nice little gem! All the years I've been traveling near Gatesville and never saw this place. Interesting place to have dinner. Games for the kids, nice selection of beers on tap with a self-serve system. Soda on tap in addition to normal soft drinks. Pizza is pretty good and well cooked. Had the stuffed crust with pepperoni and Italian sausage. Right up there beyond any commercial places. I'd rather come here. I'll definitely stop in for lunch again. read more

What amazing customer service! I came here to check out the eclipse I decided to try this highly rated pizza place. I wasn't sure what to get and the person behind the counter offered to put up to four different flavors together for me! I tried the Carnivore, chicken bacon ranch, double bacon cheeseburger, and the Stinger. I think my favorite was the chicken bacon ranch, but all of them are good. They also had a soda machine that I had never heard of and she handed me a cup and said try them and see if you want one. Again, just amazing customer service. I lingered at the place for quite a while so I could take a conference call. They came up and offered me a box and even reminded me I could take my drink to go. Solid pizza makes this place a four, but amazing customer service like this takes it to a five! read more

my experience at Studebaker Pizza--sounds was really frustrating. It's especially tough when customer service isn't helpful and it seems like other customers get better treatment. They should've either honored the large pizza special with the medium or at least been upfront about the wait and given you a heads-up. An hour and a half for dough seems a bit excessive too, especially when other customers were served right away. read more

We were driving through Gatesville and wanted lunch. Pizza sounded good. So happy we stopped!! The margarita pizza was AMAZING. The pizza crust was super light and fluffy. One of the best pizza crusts I've had. Also was impressed with the Open beer pour system. Had a little bit of problems with figuring out how to use it. lol But the 805 draft beer from California on tap made up for missing home. I also tried the pineapple beer which was pretty tasty too. Loved the atmosphere and new school jukebox with a mix of music. Service could have been a little better and help explain things more for new comers. But all and all, we will definitely come back and bring friends with us to experience it too. read more

You can see my 5 star rating from July of this year. This was our 1st time back to Gatesville since then. I had really been looking forward to get their pizza again. Disappointed does not begin to describe it. SHOCKED that this was the same place. This pizza was nasty! All of it tasted different (not in a good way) and way too much crust without toppings Most of it went directly in the trash. There won't be another visit. Favorite pizza here is the chicken bacon ranch pizza. Ice cream and arcade games add fun family element. Service Is great and they hire local teens which I love for our community. Ambiance is small town pizza hangout, very casual, clean, and good lighting that isn't overly bright nor dim. That is a big deal for me cause I worked nights for so long. read more

For a small town like Gatesville, this place definitely has it going on. I have heard about beer walls and cocktail walls in the big city restaurants, but never in a small town. Yep this small pizza restaurant has a beer wall. They give you a band and scan your drivers license and start a tab with a card. Then you walk over to the cooler, grab a mug, put your card on the reader and start the tap. When you are finished it will tell you what your total is for your beer. Talk about ice cold.... There was literally ice in the top of my beer. They had a wide variety to pick from too. This could be very dangerous for me. we ordered a Stromboli with pepperoni, ham, and jalapeños. My friends had a chicken, bacon, ranch calzone and got a cheese pizza for the kiddos. It was all very good. It didn't take a long time to come out either. They had games and tables by the games so the parents could keep an eye on their kiddos as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful especially showing me how to use my beer card. Pizza was great. The cheese is amazing unsure how to describe. Took me back to the 90s when cheese was real and not a blend of some sort or imitation mozzarella. The sauce had flavor. The crust had flavor, i usually discard it. Nope. Oh before i forget the chef salad was also good. No brown lettuce, cherry tomatoes were sweet, deli meat delicious. 10/10 would try again. My new favorite pizza place. I haven't had one for over 20 years. This place serves the best pizza that I can remember eating in all that time. Everything was perfect. The crust was firm and tasty (I think the season the bottom also). I had the supreme with added Jalapenos and stinger seasoning. The toppings were able to be identified separately while blending as a whole together. Everything came together to make the perfect pizza. We are traveling from Oklahoma but this will be a go to place every time we come back through. Note: If, you are getting a to go pizza, save money and order their carry out specials. 10/10 pizza. We visited Gatesville for the Solar Eclipse and there aren't many food options in the town. There are some corporate pizza stores and all but we would rather support a family owned business. STUDEBAKERS PIZZA is by far the best pizza I've had, ever. When called 5 hours later to get the credit for the pizza was told my other person the previous lady didn't know what she was talking about and no I can't be compensated even though pizza wasn't purposely ordered nor picked up.
