I was looking for a very gentle practice this afternoon to relieve some anxiety and ease muscle soreness. Both intentions were accomplished during the gentle yoga class taught by Heather. I cannot wait to come back and try the other yoga classes and maybe even the Pilates class. The studio is clean and the instructors are so welcoming and kind. With 30-45 min isometric workouts and 15 min HIT sessions. They also have an air conditioned FX zone with a silent trainer using weights and kettle bells. I have planter fasciitis and bad knees. Other gyms made it too painful to continue but not Hotworx. It doesn't hurt anymore and my skin looks so much better. More calories burned in a short amount of time and sometimes if I'm too tired I can sit in the sauna and still burn. Plus all the extra goodies they offer help too on top of so many opportunities to earn raffle tickets to a possible free month. 24/7 with a specialized passcode to the front door and staff Monday through Saturday. The day I came back, I was welcomed with open arms. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by Dale - who is always genuinely happy to see you. It's contagious! I have taken classes with almost all of the instructors and they are nothing short of fantastic. Each one has their own style, but they all leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized. I have been able to deepen my practice with the help of the instructors here. I feel more confident and accepting of myself and others. It has truly changed my life. If you're not sure about trying this out, try one of their beginner's monthly passes. I think it's $45 or so and you get to try classes on an unlimited basis to see which classes you like best. They also have a community class on Saturdays at 4 that is $5/donation based. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. It will literally change your life for the better! My middle-schooler and I began stretching, twisting, salutating, well you get the picture, in weekly yoga classes, busting moves I didn't think I still had. Pain takes many forms: physical, mental and spiritual to name a few. For me, the physical pain at age 39 was simply unacceptable. I refused to surrender my life to physical pain. I have had the privilege of practicing hot yoga in many different places and I have been instructed by different instructors in the Bikram method. Regardless of whether I am in California, New York, Virgina, Nevada or any other place in the world, the pathway is the same. However, the instructor is not. Julie, the owner of Hot Yoga Sanford, is uniquely qualified to guide her students in the Bikram method of hot yoga. She is very knowledgeable about the practice. Julie's mindfulness to the practice stands out as one of her best qualities. Yes, you will sweat. However, you will do more than sweat. Just over a month ago I decided I had enough of being unhealthy and overweight, but I had tried so…read moremany times to exercise and lose weight on my own just to end up failing after a few weeks. This time, after caring for my mother and grandfather after their strokes, and knowing my father had poor health at a young age, I was determined to make a change, but I needed a little help. I needed someone to help me with accountability, because I could give up and effect no one but myself. I looked at personal trainers in my area and found one that I considered, but saw the second personal trainer in the search and really liked their website and services they offered much better. I was timid and unsure of what to expect, but I mustered the strength and made the call to BeFIT Health Studio. Jeremy answered and he said everything I needed to hear. It was practically a done deal. We met and I really loved the studio, and Jeremy was so nice and compassionate that I didn't feel any embarrassment or shame. I also felt no pressure to sign up. The studio is not a big place that has dozens of people all at once that made me feel uncomfortable of myself. I was ready to sign up and pay right there, but he made me come back for a first "session" to be sure. Little did he know that nothing could have changed my mind at that point. Now, after three months I've lost over 40lbs, but more importantly, I have so many non-scale victories that I feel so much better. My heart function has improved, my glucose is no longer in the pre-diabetic range, and my cholesterol has significantly dropped. I am fitting into smaller clothing now and I noticed that I have more energy. I also find myself standing up straighter when I'm sitting or walking, and overall happier. While at the studio with Jeremy, we don't just exercise, we also discuss ways to find balance with eating, activities to continue the progression outside of the studio. This is going to be a long road, I'm no where near the end, but I feel so much better that I could cry tears of joy. I am so glad that I finally made the commitment to get healthier and find the help that I needed to get there. I couldn't have done it on my own without someone helping me to be accountable and pushing me forward. It does helps to have a little ass-kicking now and then.
