This shop carries the classiest jewelry in PVD. The art and antiques here are really nice, too. Very nice owner.

Nice stuff, people are really nice, but returns are merchandise credit only...even within 7 days. Not cool.

Thank you to Don for being so friendly and helpful…read more I met Don while walking a friends dog. This pup clearly 'knew' this shop and just ran right in with me in tow! After chatting with Don for a bit, and him giving the pup a treat, we began to discuss the Providence Jewelry District of the past. You know, the one where there were a bunch of jewelry companies in downtown? Anyway. This reminded me that I have a sentimental ring that no longer fits me and Don offered to take a look and see if he can resize it for me. Next trip into the city, I brought along the ring and Don got to work. Sadly for me, the type of ring it is does not allow for him to resize it without dramatically changing the appearance. Well, now I know. I appreciate his efforts, honesty and integrity. He shined up the ring before returning it to me as well. There was no charge for this attempt and I very much appreciate his thoughtfulness. The shop is a collection of many jewelry artisans work. Earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. Along with a plethora of very unique wall clocks, this is one fun and funky shop. If you are looking for a quality gift for a friend or loved one, I definitely recommend you stop by and check out Don's inventory. If you have a piece of jewelry that needs a new setting, resizing, repair or cleaning, I recommend you stop by and ask Don about that as well. I very much appreciate his work ethic and will recommend Don to anyone and everyone. Thanks Don!

This place is great! My husband brought a pair of his great aunt's ruby earring here in 2012 to…read moremake into an engagement ring. They did a great job helping him select a diamond and to design the ring. I also got my wedding band at MRT's. It's a great local shop! My mother-in-law's wedding and engagement rings are actually also from here. What has impressed me most about MRT's is their customer service. When one of the tiny rubies fell out of my wedding band early on, they fixed it for free. More recently, I decided to get the wedding band and engagement ring fused together, so that they wouldn't rub together (the side wall of the wedding band was thinning from rubbing). I currently live in California and the price quote I got here for thickening the side walls and fusing the two rings together was $200 more expensive than the quote MRT's gave me. When I took the ring to MRT's, they gave me a price quote based on the time and materials to fix the ring. When they realized later it would take more time to fix the ring than expected, they kept the original price quote, rather than raising it, despite it taking more labor. I just received my rings in the mail from them and am thrilled with the result!

The woman was very unfriendly and told me that they couldn't help me, which is fine. However, when I was leaving I overheard heard her make a rude remark to an employee there along the lines of, "Why the f*** would he bring the bracelet here and not go through them (Swarovski) instead??" The whole encounter left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Before I contact Swarovski, I'm going to bring it to Gray's in Barrington. Those guys are super nice and helpful.

On the way back, I just had to stop in. Upon stepping in we were greeted and they let you shop the cases without hounding you. When I asked to try some pieces on, a girl was more than happy to help me. She opened the case and let me go at it, I like this place! This is when I truly get to gauge pricing and honestly, it wasn't bad... until I went into the Dafne case. I instantly fell in love with Dafne's Bracelets. Slightly Boho yet chic, simplistic in a beautiful way. I've just never seen anything like it. The owner, Haylee, was very nice but she never got up from her chair. She basically answered all my questions with me standing in front of her. I am guessing this it the Armchair she was talking about in her article in the Providence Journal "I get to sit in an armchair surrounded by pretty things." [Providence Journal Article: www.goo.gl/tdsU6W ] I asked if I could receive a discount if I buy two and she gave me this speech on how her pricing is very good, lower than normal and I could go check outside myself. Knowing I was being bamboozled, I still purchased the bracelets. I liked the store, staff and this would always be associated with our Trip to Providence (from NYC). Lets talk pricing - Triple silk wrap Navy/Gold bracelet Talulah Cooper: $108 Dafne-collections.com Retail: $88 Online: $87.50 (Free S/H) [Love and Pieces: www.goo.gl/jwE3ka ] Ok, now I feel ripped off, but wait... Wrap bracelet arch linked with thin chain Talulah Cooper: $138 Dafne-collections.com Retail: $148 So I was overcharged $20 on silk item and undercharged $10 on the gold. Interesting... I guess it wasn't all that bad. Knowing this I would most likely stop in again in Providence, but this time I will not be too shy to check online pricing first.
