I Showed up a few minutes early and was brought in right away. Everyone is wearing masks and working at a safe distance away from each other. I scheduled for pedicures for me and my son prior to our vacation. It is just a fun thing we like to do from time to time. We were scheduled at 7:00 and arrived about 6:50. We stood around awkwardly without acknowledgement for about 3 minutes while stylists were cutting hair 6 ft from us. Finally someone came to the desk and greeted us with a friendly welcome. I expressed that I knew we were a few minutes early so for them to please take their time. We waited a few more minutes then a young lady came out and walked us back. My son does not get a polish so he did not need to pick out a color. I attempted to look over the colors and the girl proceeded to stand right next to me saying, "oh that's a great color" and reaching for it every time I picked up a polish. It was very clear she was rushing me as she needed to get back to whatever she was doing in the next room. I grabbed a polish and sat down. It was a small room with just the two chairs in it. I put my feet it and the water seemed comfortable at first. No massaging chairs, no bubbling water, just a bucket with a vibrating/ heating bottom. We sat here alone in the room for nearly 30 minutes. The bottom of the water bucket got so hot it felt like our feet were going to burn. We had to figure out how to turn it down on our own. Luckily, we succeeded. Finally, two girls came in huffing and puffing and clearly wanted to rush through this as I believe they closed at 8:00. No introduction, no hello, just straight to it. We have never experienced such a quick pedicure in our lives. No scrub! The scrub is the best part! Massage was about 45 seconds and went no further than our feet...our poor sad calves. Very cheap throw away materials for exfoliating. My son asked for a clear coat for his nails at the end of his 12 minute pedicure and the girl proceeded to just squeeze some sort of finishing coat to the end of each toe. Since I got a polish (that I was rushed to pick out to sit and wait for 30 minutes) he sat while I got a mediocre polish job done (streaky and uneven). Then she pulled out a top coat that was clumped and sticky, set it down, grabbed another that was worse, and then grabbed the original to use. I guess the lesser of two evils??? Applied it and said it dries really fast I should be good to go. It was 7:50!!! We walked up to the front desk and again stood around awkwardly waiting for someone to check us out while others were sweeping and cleaning to close. Then, we were taxed for the pedicure- I have never been taxed for a service. I work in aesthetics and have never taxed for my services...it was weird. Our total was over $96 for our 15 minute pedicures. I only tipped $14 to split as I felt that was very fair considering how much time and effort was spent with us. It was made quietly clear the girl did not feel $14 was an appropriate tip. I am an excellent tipper when it is deserved. I did not want to speak negatively in front of my son who saw this as a fun experience with mom so we just left unhappy. I get it. You close at 8:00. You were running behind. It was the end of your long day. But dropping $110 for a mediocre 15 minute pedicure is definitely not my idea of a great experience for me and my son. Between you and me, I'm a short hair kind of girl. Lately, I've been challenging that notion. Less because I've changed my mind and more because I moved to a new city and was nervous about finding a new hair stylist. So, I let my hair grow out these past four months and was darn near close to desperation. I've driven by The Polished Look many times, but was suspicious by their slogan, 'A Salon for Cool People.' Letting my curiosity get the best of me, I stopped in and was instantly relieved to see Paul Mitchell and Dermalogica products on the shelves. I felt right at home. The salon itself is built out of an old house, which adds an extra measure of midwest charm. Melanie took me as a walk-in and did a lovely job cutting and styling to my request. She was confident and personable and styled my hair like a master. While I was there, I also had my eyebrows waxed by the resident esthetician, Jessica. She took me upstairs to her cozy treatment room and had my brows done in no time. My only complaint is that I could smell cigarettes on her hands. Not my favorite, but otherwise a very clean and happy facility. I'd even venture to say cool.. and I felt cool being there.. and felt even cooler when I left sporting my flirty new 'do. Nail Technician Jessica does an excellent job with manicures and pedicures. I especially like the new Shellac manicure.

I just moved to the area, too. Very hesitant to look for a new hairdresser! I have very fine hair and wear it very textured, not an easy cut. Thank God I found Holly. Excellent job with my color, and great cut! Even better than what I had before in Atlanta that I was scared to part with! Simply the best in Medina. I normally go to Cathy who is a master of color mixing and can create the perfect color for any skin tone without washing you out. This time I went to Chelsea because Cathy was off, and she was perfect! Very sweet, very complimentative, recommended the perfect products, and was probably the best stylist I've ever been to. Any of the girls are phenomenal! I have long hair, they always style it just right to fit what i may be doing later that day. And, above all, they even scheduled me in the same day despite how busy they were. I couldn't recommend a better salon in Medina! read more

After looking at the reviews on Yelp, I decided to push past it's slogan "A Salon for Cool People" and try it out for my haircut. The hairstylist was very friendly and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and I couldn't be happier. The price is very reasonable and I will definitely be going back. read more

I was referred to this salon by a friend and she was right on! I needed a same day appointment for an special occasion hair styling. They got me right in and put me in Patti's chair. She is amazingly talented and extremely detailed, making sure every hair was in place....even on a "messy look updo" . I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair.
