Studio One is the best salon I have been to especially because of my amazing hairstylist, Coley. I don't trust many people with my hair because it is so thin and brittle because of the years of continuous blonding & bleaching, but Coley made me feel so comfortable. She did an absolutely amazing job, and I will never go back to anyone else. I always ask for a natural and fresh look & Coley accomplishes the job every single time. A little background info here: Prior to moving to the Tri-Cities, I had a hair stylist in Seattle that I have been going to for over 20 years. I had to drive back to Seattle to get my hair done even after moving here. I've tried other stylists but they always, ALWAYS messed up my hair. Most can't color my hair right. Went to another salon in Seattle that's pretty established and they turned my hair patchy purple (when I asked for them to color my hair chocolate brown) then try to say how cool it looks. No. Not cool. Knowing my background, I was hesitant of going to anywhere new. I first came to see Kathy Nunez to get some hair extensions put in. For the prep work, she had me come in a week or two prior to color and cut my hair. She did a great job. She is also awesome in putting those extensions and making it look so natural. Side note, hair extensions are not for everyone, including me. I already have a lot of hair so it was a lot of weight and taking care of them was too much for me. This is all my personal preference but service was great and it was done professionally. Recently, I went back to get my hair colored after my extensions were all out. I have an addiction to coloring my hair. I went back to Kathy and showed her a picture of how I want it to look. I was going for more of an ombre look. It wasn't as light as I initially wanted after our first appointment so she schedule me in for another appointment to make it lighter. This was purely me trying to see if the original darker color was what I wanted so I lived with it for a week and then told Kathy that I wanted lighter. She made it exactly the color that I wanted! Kathy will make sure and do her best to ensure that you leave her salon with fab hair and happy. She did NOT turn my hair purple! She knows exactly what she has to do to color my hair (THANK YOU!!). Side note, I went another salon in the Tri-Cities to do an ombre. She was a salon owner too and she failed plus it was more expensive. Great customer service. Friendly people. Very professional. Well.. this was the most horrible experience I've ever received. I've never been to a hair salon where I felt so out of place and not welcome. I was reassured by Grace she could get me to what I was asking for, which was an ashy blonde hair color, I informed Grace I had box hair dyed, she still proceeded to bleach my hair without testing it first, I trusted her work since she reassured me she can get me to ashy blonde. Not only did I spend 4 hrs, but my hair came out horrible, Red- Orange hair color which is definitely not what I ask for, not only was I upset but she overcharged me, $300 dollars, for something that I didn't even ask for! They gave me my money back, since I was not satisfied, but I was also told not to ever ever come back to the hair salon! So unprofessional to make such a horrible statement like that! I wasn't asking for my money back I just wanted my hair fixed! I've never ever felt so belittle.Thanks studio one for making my bday memorable. Still salty about my prom experience. I made an appointment two months in advance for 1:30 pm. I scheduled my makeup at MAC for 2:30, but as the date approached, I realized that's probably not enough time. I called MAC to try to move my appointment, but unfortunately it was all full. I came to my hair appointment at 1:10, hoping she'd start early. In actuality, Connie didn't start on me until 2:00. I was stressed to the point of tears. I showed her my picture and prayed she could do some magic and be at my makeup appointment on time. She spent in total 20 minutes on my hair. When she finished and handed me the mirror, she explained my hair was too short for the style I wanted. Really? You couldn't have told me that sooner? Instead of my low, neat bun with volume, I got a bun with a million pieces sticking out EVERYWHERE. To top the experience off, she still charged me the (very) steep fee of $55 for my hour of hell. I was sobbing on my way to makeup, trying to think of a solution. After 10 or so more bobby pins, my hair still wasn't what I wanted, but it was a little neater than before. The only reason this review gets two stars, is because I've had fantastic haircuts here before! I'm definitely on the hunt for a salon I can trust. read more

Coming from a larger area, I was worried about finding a salon here. After reading some reviews stating this was a "high end" salon, and reading some other reviews of salons that were regarded much less favorably, I decided to try it. To begin with, this "high end" salon is on the corner of a run down strip mall. If you've been to a high end salon, this is far from it. Inside was no better. Even the stylist's chairs are scratched up. On to the service. I came in for a minimal, routine color service. It failed. The stylist apologized and tried to fix it with a second round. While processing, the stylist to the left was "fixing" a client's hair that was poorly done by one of the other stylists. In the chair to the right, the stylist is having a conversation with someone in the chair that she clearly knew, and was cursing like a sailor at full volume. The gentleman in the chair told her she shouldn't be using that sort of language in earshot of the other clientele. Unfortunately, she didn't heed his advice. When I left the salon, I didn't need to wear a hat. That's as good as it got. The only thing that comes close to a high end salon is the pricing. read more

I'm very saddened to give this place 1 star but that was my experience... after reading lots of positive reviews and following them on instagram, I schedule an appointment for a simple, blunt bob. Unfortunately the stylist, Olivia, made my experience horrible. I felt like the whole entire time, from the hair wash to the cut, she was annoyed to do her job and I was an inconvenience. She started out with not even washing my hair through so it was still was dirty and greasy. Then, after showing her a few pictures and discussing what I want to do, she confidently began cutting. I'm not picky when it comes to hair. But from the start her cutting was off, uneven and obviously not straight. During the whole cutting process, she paid more attention to herself in the mirror than me. It's not that she needs to be having a conversation with me but even when I'd ask a question or say something, often times she'd simply ignore me. Then came the worst part. She gave me absolutely random, bluntly cut layers. I don't know why and how she thought it would look good. It was awful but at this point i still was trying to give her the benefit of doubt - maybe it'll look good dry and styled? Nope! I came back after about a week to have another girl fix it as much as possible, given the layers were pretty short. Although I ended up with hair I didn't want originally, she did her best and was very kind. read more

After hearing and seeing so many positive reviews I went ahead & booked my appointment with Kathy 2 months in advance. When I walked in everybody was really nice. My appointment was at 11:45 which I got there on time for and I didn't get seated until about 12:15. To start off with, Kathy asked me what I wanted so I showed her my picture and she was too busy on her phone so I stopped talking because I noticed she wasn't paying attention. Then she said "oh show me again" and put her phone away. I told her what I wanted and that I wanted tape in extensions put in and she said "you want me to put them in for you?" With an attitude. And after I told her that I had said that when I made my appointment, she stayed quiet and went back on her phone. After seeing the picture of how I wanted my hair she said she probably couldn't get it that light but I told her to do what she could. Mistake #1!! She slathered the bleach on my hair in no special way. Just put it on there. I could've done that at home. She left the bleach in for a long time as she was working with another client, only to have her assistant come check on it occasionally. When they decided to take out the foils, I could heard them whispering but not sure what they were saying. And without a word just stopped midway and walked away for about another 10-15 minutes as I just sat there like an idiot. They came back, washed it out and my hair was a salmon color & my hair was EXTREMELY dry. They toned it to even out the color & said to set up another appointment so they can keep working their way to the blonde I wanted. I will not be bleaching my hair anymore because it was so dry and brittle. AND she still charged me $250. Will not be going back ever again. ** Update ** i had a friend visit Studio One to get her hair done by another stylist. She began telling the stylist my experience with Kathy, and when she showed her pictures of my hair, the stylist said she vividly remembered Kathy being in the back room talking about me and how she knew for a fact my hair wouldn't turn out right but she didn't want to tell me. So pretty much she knew my hair was going to turn out like complete shit but did it anyways just to take $250 away from me. I wish I could post a picture but I'm not sure how to. read more

My partner and I have done business with Studio One in the past and have come to like and appreciate the salon with thier upbeat atmosphere, unfortunately this last visit was anything but enjoyable. When coloring his hair to the same "Platinume Blond" as past visits before. Jeni M. was always able to get it on the first try, with no problems or set backs, but this last visit his hair turned "Yellow" and she played it off. "It was ok" she said, and that the toner would make it appear more "white" as it dried. I was verbal with my concern as it wasn't correct. So after she cut and styled his hair we went to pay, then reschedual for the next day to finish his hair. When handed back my credit card and MPOS to confirm the sale, I was charged $125. It's only $25 extra since our last visit and I know how our economy works; prices go up from time to time. So I let it slide...but let your customers know of price increases. The next day we arrived to have his hair re-finished to the correct color that we wanted and paid for! This is when I started to get angry. We chose her to do his hair because she secured our trust with 100% successful coloring and cutting visits in the past. But this time she was rude, she rushed and didn't really do much but put bleach in his hair. I'm extremely displeased with the service that we got and how we were rushed through. His hair is still soft yellow, and hasn't become whiter as she said it would while it "air dried." Unfortunately I will more then likely go to a new salon after this visit. I don't think it's right that we were treated this way even after we spoke of our concerns and brought them to her attention. I'm still extremely upset from this whole fiasco and I hope that future customers are not treated this way! read more

Had my hair dyed Platinum a couple years ago and the grow-out process had resulted in a terrible "chemical cut." Called the front and told them what type of hair I had (very fine) and was looking for someone who was good with that type of hair. They scheduled me with Rickie (Ricardo). I previously gave this place a one star review based on the embarrassing chop job that the stylist Rickie gave to me. I am happy to report that studio one was happy to make it right. They gave me a free appointment with the stylist Jaelle (pronounced JL.... Because spelling is not my strong suit). She repaired the damage and gave me a beautiful cut, exactly the kind of cut I was looking for the first time. She had a delightful personality to boot! If I was rating this place on Jaelle's service alone, I would give it five stars, I just think it is a shame that this establishment doesn't have more consistency in the stylists that they hire. This salon is very eye appealing and beautifully decorated. I was able to call and schedule and an appointment on the same day. Raquel introduced herself and asked step by step how I wanted my new hair cut to look like and she delivered. Some salons fall sort when it comes to getting a guys fade blended seamlessly, not this one. Raquel gave me a barbershop quality fade and hardline. After the sides she proceeded to shampoo my hair which is always a plus because no one wants itchy hairs all over them. I then got the top of my hair cut to my desired length and and we were done. My only nit pick would be if they could hand out some disposable hot towels to get those fine itchy hairs out of your ears and neck. I think I found my new salon from now on, and yes I would recommend this salon to everyone read more

HORRIBLE. Did not live up to my expectations compared to the hype about their salon. I have heard about other hair stylist there that are very good but unfortunately my hairstylist decided to do what she wanted and not at all what we talked about. I got my hair done by Kathy, her pictures on Instagram look great but maybe she's only good at doing blonds. My roots went from black and the end of my hair was almost bleach blond, Not blended at all. It was a waste of $200 and I went to call someone else to fix it less than a month after. Their browns do not last longer than two weeks, all the color tones eventually just blended to the same color and it just looked like I had an awful grow out. I also had a friend who said the exact same thing and she is a blond , she got highlights that eventually all looked like one tone of blond in less than a month. And she had lines on her roots from the foil. I'm definitely never going back, and have been trying to get rid of the blond ever sense. read more

I went in for a simple cut and color. To begin with the stylist Rickie, didn't want to take the time to discuss the color or the style. You see I have dark reddish brown hair, he wanted to dye my hair a dark blond. Umm no way, I wanted my hair lighter. So he decided that it should be a dark red. The color was just okay, it could of been better. Next came the cut and styling, not a good experience for me. He left one side longer than the other side, and it wasn't well blended. The styling of my hair was awful! He made my hair a big poofball, with scalp showing. YIKES! I wanted out of there, I was getting tired of major mistakes. When I got home and combed my hair the way I prefer to wear it and discovered chopped looking hair on the left side, so I called Studio One back to complain and was informed that Rickie had left for the weekend. I'm going back in to have someone else correct his mistakes. So You might say I do not recommend going to Rickie at Studio One. I'll see how the stylist tomorrow corrects his mistakes as to wether I return to this business. read more

Horrible if you are a Burnett I would not recommend them . I got my hair done by Kathy. Blond color tones don't last more than a week. Absolutely hated my end result and my hair is still recovering. I spent over 200$ for someone to make my nearly black hair fade to bleach blond. It looked embarrassing in pictures, not to mention nothing like what I wanted. I wanted something more natural with some lighter strands throughout my hair. but instead it was black to blond , it looked like an awful grow out. It has been a pain to try and fix considering my hair has never been so unhealthy. Her blond does not last very good, day of it had some medium brown with the blond but after a week it was all one shade of blond. I also had what looked like stripes on some strands. Never going back and I don't understand how they have such good rating when my experience was a huge disappointment. read more
