I m not happy to write this at all!! I had a horrible experience with Lhonette at Studio Raupo that has left my hair completely destroyed. She charges as much as any high-end salon, but the quality of the place and her skills do not meet those premium prices. Her Instagram videos look amazing, so I initially didn't mind the high cost, but it was a massive mistake. She was completely overbooked. My 12:00 PM appointment didn't start until 12:50 PM. Lhonette rushed through a 10-minute bleach application and left the rest of the work and toner to an assistant. Because of this rushed job, my hair turned out orange at the roots and she gave me this pale blonde far from the color that I asked. When I complained, she told me to come back in 4 days later to fix it. During that second visit, her attitude was incredibly cold and short. She treated me like I was being difficult and claimed what I was asking for was "impossible"--but she only said that after she destroyed my hair further on the second visit, leaving me with a fried, damaged mix of orange, beige, and my natural brown. I asked for my money back, and she initially only offered a 50% refund. I refused to agree to that, so she did eventually give me my full money back, and I walked out. Still, I paid $750 for short hair that sits above my shoulders--I can't even imagine what she would charge for long hair. I ended up going to IGK Hair Salon nearby, where a real color specialist thoroughly explained all the mistakes Lhonette made. They did a strand test to check the core of my hair and assured me that the golden blonde I wanted is actually very easy and possible to achieve. Because Lhonette damaged my hair so badly, they put me on a treatment plan to make it strong again, and I have to wait until August 11th just to get it fixed.This happened on June 17th, and I am currently stuck wearing hats every single day because I feel horrible about how I look. Leonette took my healthy hair and absolutely torched it. Overprocessed, overbleached, and undercared for -- by the time she was done, my poor strands were gasping for mercy. And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, she passed me off to an obviously inexperienced assistant to remove the foils -- a critical step that can make or break a color service. Spoiler: it broke. I left the salon with brittle, straw-like hair that took nearly a year (and a lot of trims, masks, and prayers) to recover. What's even more disturbing? There's a review -- mysteriously hidden from public view -- that recounts a nearly identical nightmare. So this isn't an isolated incident. It's a pattern that the salon seems eager to bury rather than fix. This place has the audacity to charge luxury prices for a service that feels more like a punishment. STUDIO RAūPO just opened at the Filling Station Lofts in Wynwood. The salon is helmed by Wendy and Lhonette who decided to open their own hair studio after having worked at a very popular Design District salon for several years. Wendy has been cutting my hair since 2017 after I stalked her Instagram page for months. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my hair (maybe because I'm a Leo), and couldn't ever dream of having anyone else come near me with a pair of scissors. Although I've never dyed my hair, I'd definitely go to Lhonette if I ever decided to. I've seen her work many times since several of my friends are her clients, and it's FLAWLESS. It pains me to write this review as I take negative reviews very seriously. I've been contemplating it for a year now. For context, I lived in NYC for 14 years and I have struggled to find a quality stylist in Miami. After one local stylist became scissor happy with me on two occasions, I decided to give Wendy a try. We immediately got off of on the wrong foot. I came to the salon for a haircut during my lunch break. After waiting for 15 minutes, I asked the front desk if they could attempt to find Wendy as I needed to get back to work. I always do my best to be on time, especially for a service. She was somewhere in the back and not running late with another client. After about 20 minutes, she surfaced and was very cold. I did my best to warm up to her as I was hoping to find a new stylist and she was about to cut me for the first time. I was able to bond with her over a few things personally, but the cut was the worst of my lifetime. I asked for long layers and she recreated what the previous stylist did to my hair, but in an even worse fashion. I part my hair on the side and she over layered me on the right side to the point that it looked like a weed whacker went through it. It's been a year now and I still have layers on the right side of my head that are above my shoulder. Initially, I gave it three months to grow and traveled to see my former NYC stylist. He was picking up layers from the back of my head in disbelief at how uneven the layers were cut. This cut cost me $360 ($300 for the cut and $60 tip). Yes, I still tipped 20%. I've had three cuts since last September. My feeling is that my hair will finally be back to where it was next September so I'll be paying for this cut both literally and figuratively for a very long time. read more

Studio Raupo is by far the nicest salon I have ever been to. Tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, woman owned, and just perfect! I did a full balayage with Lhonette and a cut with Wendy. Let me start by saying that I've been to other high-end hairdressers and Lhonette is just the sweetest soul. She is hardworking and passionate about her craft and her attention to detail is unmatched. A true artist. You will not feel like just another client here, she truly cares. Same goes for Wendy who is an absolute artist and so so cool. Book your appointment ahead of time as these ladies are booked sometimes 5+ months in advance and for good reason--they are the best!
