My wife got out of the car and was at the door inside that window. They wouldn't let her in without me, and I was still parking. I walked in 11 minutes after the start -- one minute past their cutoff. There were maybe four to six people in the room. I explained the family situation involving my son. I told them it was our anniversary. My wife was distraught, and I pleaded with them and tried to reason with them. They turned us away anyway. We weren't asking anyone to slow the class down or stay late -- we would have caught up on our own. My wife left humiliated on the day she had planned as a gift. I get it -- you have to run a business, and you have to start on time. But she was there inside the window you gave us and you wouldn't seat her. It came down to one minute and two people standing in front of you, and you chose the minute. The class started without us. So did the last impression I'll have of this place.

Everyone had so much fun painting their own pottery, and it was a unique and memorable party activity. The studio was clean, well-organized, and the party ran smoothly from start to finish. When we arrived, they told me there is also a mandatory 18% gratuity. First, that is legally supposed to be disclosed clearly and in advance which it was not. The kids picked out their paint colors and then we found out that your location was out of (six) different colors that they wanted and they had to settle for less appealing options. The attendants were slow to replenish the paint and acted like it was an inconvenience, even though they were getting a "mandatory gratuity". They could have been nicer and more friendly. One of the colors they "replenished" was not the same color as we got at the beginning even though we asked for the same color # and the attendant even checked the # to make sure, and one of the kids ending up having two different colors of paint in one section of her ceramic piece that she was really disappointed about. When we asked the attendant how we could fix it, she said she didn't know and literally walked away mid-conversation to help someone else. She clearly did not care about our party once we sat down. My bill was almost $300 and the mandatory gratuity was $49.32 which was absolutely not worth the service we got. I doubt we would come back to your store since we never had this issue at Color Me Mine.

Victoria S (S-886) in the fabric department was absolutely amazing. Not only did she calm my reservations about the project, but she helped me select the fabric of choice. She was extremely detailed on how to measure for the appropriate amount of fabric despite not having seen the chairs. Further, she also guiding me on purchasing the correct quantity and beyond to minimize time. Not only did I finish the project, but it came out flawlessly due to Victoria's gracious assistance and guidance. Thank you, Victoria, for everything. I can't believe I didn't know about this place already. It's beautiful!…read more Before visiting, I would recommend looking at their website first and having an idea of what you want to buy. It will make it easier to shop, trust me. They don't have a shop online and pick up system but they said you could order online and call them to let them know you want to pick it up in the store. Instant gratification without the shipping cost. I think personally I would rather make my own list and shop the items myself. Mostly because I may come across something I've never seen before and decide to get it. It's all part of the adventure. When you get there, you walk into an empty room but just let them know you're there to shop for markerpop and they'll let you into the back (basically what I imagine heaven looks like) They mentioned it was in the back because most of their business comes from their online shop. With that being said a lot of their product (stamps/dies) are faced barcode out which probably makes it easier for them to find however not incredibly convenient if you're a walk in customer. Personally, I didn't mind it but just something I noticed. You can find different stamp brands like Lawn fawn, my favorite things, mama elephant, waffle flower, hero arts, wplus9, and that's just the beginning. They also have a great collection of markers. I'm mostly focused on copics and zigs (plenty of stock at a great price) but they also have other brands. If you don't see what you're looking for just ask and someone will assist you. Every person I spoke to in there was extremely helpful and nice. There aren't a lot of craft shops in the area that carry this much variety of stamps so I'm really excited to have stumbled on this. I don't write many reviews but this shop deserves more credit which is why I decided to write about it. I wish I took pictures to post but I guess I'll do that next time :)

My…read more11-year-old has been taking classes here for the past year, and I've loved watching her confidence grow along the way. Working with clay requires patience, creativity, and real time problem solving, which has been such a wonderful experience for her. I especially love that pottery teaches her to embrace the process rather than expect instant gratification. There's no rushing to a finished product...you have to work through each step, learn from mistakes, and sometimes figure out how to solve a problem when things don't go as planned. It has been so rewarding to watch her challenge herself, develop new skills, and become more confident in her ability to work through frustration and find solutions. These are skills that extend far beyond the studio, and I'm so grateful she has a place where she can develop them while doing something she genuinely enjoys. The staff are also amazing and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell how much they care about the kids and their creative growth. We highly recommend Mud Hen Clay and Art Studio! It's a wonderful place for kids to create, learn, challenge themselves, and grow.

An overdue review based on the pottery wheel class and glazing option experience. For reservations,…read moreI made it for two people through their website. This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.
