I came here for my early birthday since I was looking for a fun activity to do for my 27th birthday. I saw this place all over my TikTok page so I wanted to try something new for my birthday. I went here with my sister and she made a cute plate and I made my own perfume tray. It was a great experience, but drawing was really hard for me so I'm not a good artist like that. The employee was super nice and friendly. They given give you instructions on how the paint works & more fills on your paint of the colors you choose. You can choose up to 6 colors of your choice and they can refill the color that you pick. You can choose your own pottery to work on as well. I would definitely come back here if I want like a relaxing pottery vibe for an easier pottery to work on. read more

Went for a ladies day for one our friends birthday. The store itself is cute but can get busy. We put our number on a waitlist, you get texted when a table is ready, and browsed the selection they had. Sooooo many choices to choose from. The pottery items and sculptures are already made and you get to decorate them any way you'd like. The paint looks very different compared to after your art piece has been "cooked". No food/drinks allowed while painting because it could throw off the finishing. Limited spaces. Walk in welcome. No appointment needed as far as we were informed. read more

I had a good, relaxing time at this Color me mine. They were very helpful if you had any questions about painting and how to achieve a certain look if it was needed. The music was not too loud which was nice and the songs that were playing were appropriate for all ages which is important for a place like this. This is a great spot to chill and get creative--perfect for a date, family outing, or solo time. You pick a ceramic piece, paint it however you want, and they glaze and fire it for you. The staff is friendly, the vibe is laid-back, and there's a big variety of pieces to choose from. Walk-ins are welcome, and it's open daily. Easy, fun, and something different to do! My only feedback and negative here is they should offer the option to paint a traditional painting instead of having to only be able to paint pottery pieces. read more

This was my first time here. When you walk in, it's light and bright and the employee tells you how it works - you pick out an item to paint and then pick out colors of paint you want to use- they bring the paint to you. Once you paint your item, you pay and leave it behind to be glazed then come back to pick it up. It was a lot of fun, can't wait to pick up my item! I came here about an hour and a half before closing on a Saturday night with friends. It was my first time at Color Me Mine and essentially you pick from a series of offered ceramics, paint them anyway you like (though I believe you are restricted to 5 colors), leave it to be fired in the kiln so the colors set in and come by to pick it up several days after. Your total price will be the cost of the item selected + the cost of paint time in the store. The adult pay time was $12 which I was unaware of prior as I assumed paint cost was included within the cost of the item itself. The item prices here, my friend who frequents Color Me Mine often noted are higher than at other Color Me Mine locations and we guessed this might be due to its location. Our item was ready for pick up 2 days after we came here. read more

came here for a chill paint-your-own-pottery day and had a really great experience! the staff at color me mine were super friendly and walked us through everything from start to finish. they explained the whole process clearly from how to choose a piece, pick colors, and what to expect with the firing and pickup. they were helpful if we had any questions and gave tips without being overbearing. the place itself was clean and organized, with a calm, creative vibe. there were a ton of pottery options to choose from mugs, animals, plates, figures, you name it. so it was fun taking our time to pick something that matched our mood. we ended up paying about $90 total for two pottery figures, which includes the price of the figure and a small studio/firing fee. they originally said our pieces would be ready in a week, but we actually got a call just 2-3 days later saying they were done! love when businesses exceed expectations like that. overall, a fun and relaxing activity, whether you're going solo, with a friend, or even for a low-key date. would definitely come back to paint again. read more

Fun experience, but pricey. There's a studio fee per person plus the cost of the item you choose. Wish there could be more variety of paint colors and items to pick and paint. Staff are very nice, they do not rush you. Ambiance: good music playlist while you paint. We came on a Saturday morning and there was plenty of space, started getting busier towards the afternoon. Parking: plenty of parking in the Metro Pointe plaza and underground. Items are fired quickly and you'll receive them in less than a week. read more

My first experience since high school painting on ceramics! I had such a great experience especially with the workers there :) Each person pays a difference price depending on the ceramic they choose; the price is at the bottom of the pot. They range from $20-$40 from the ones I saw, but I assume bigger ones would be more expensive. Each person also has to pay for a $12 Studio Fee which includes a 2 hr experience, use of supplies, and the firing kiln. We were able to refill on the colors as much as we need by either letting a worker know or going to the station and getting it ourselves! After picking our ceramic, we write it on our board and the person picking up the ceramics will write their information on the clipboard. The ceramics should be ready in 3-5 days and they'll send a text to you! It will be held for up to 30 days. My friend and I were able to stay a bit longer than we did (maybe because it wasn't too busy) but we were finished in our own time and didn't feel rushed. Mon-Wed have special promotions so take advantage of it! read more

History

Established in 1980.

Our Studio is one of the original Color Me Mine Stores and the first in Orange County opened by our founder M. Goslin. The company is still going strong and our family are the third owners of our studio. Color Me Mine is a pain your own pottery studio where customers select a blank piece of pottery (ie: a mug, a bowl, a vase, a piggy bank,a figurine … we have over 600 choices and over 10 categories!) to paint and decorate anyway they please. We provide all the materials and after completion, we fire the artwork in our kilns. This does take time and therefore pieces are not ready to be taken home the same day as painting. Typically pieces are ready 3-5 days later and we do offer delivery services!

I walked in 11 minutes after the start -- one minute past their cutoff. There were maybe four to six people in the room. I explained the family situation involving my son. I told them it was our anniversary. My wife was distraught, and I pleaded with them and tried to reason with them. They turned us away anyway. We weren't asking anyone to slow the class down or stay late -- we would have caught up on our own. My wife left humiliated on the day she had planned as a gift. I get it -- you have to run a business, and you have to start on time. But she was there inside the window you gave us and you wouldn't seat her. It came down to one minute and two people standing in front of you, and you chose the minute. The class started without us. So did the last impression I'll have of this place.

When we arrived, they told me there is also a mandatory 18% gratuity. First, that is legally supposed to be disclosed clearly and in advance which it was not. The kids picked out their paint colors and then we found out that your location was out of (six) different colors that they wanted and they had to settle for less appealing options. The attendants were slow to replenish the paint and acted like it was an inconvenience, even though they were getting a "mandatory gratuity". They could have been nicer and more friendly. One of the colors they "replenished" was not the same color as we got at the beginning even though we asked for the same color # and the attendant even checked the # to make sure, and one of the kids ending up having two different colors of paint in one section of her ceramic piece that she was really disappointed about. When we asked the attendant how we could fix it, she said she didn't know and literally walked away mid-conversation to help someone else. She clearly did not care about our party once we sat down. My bill was almost $300 and the mandatory gratuity was $49.32 which was absolutely not worth the service we got. I doubt we would come back to your store since we never had this issue at Color Me Mine.

This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

We did buy more paint than what was included in the take home kit because we wanted more colors, but if you plan your colors meticulously then the original amount you're given is more than enough to paint 1 ceramic each. The glazing is covered once you pay for the kit and ceramics and if you have leftover paint and want to go back to buy more ceramics, you don't need to pay extra for any of the glazing. I much prefer this than going in-store if you are doing a group activity. You can take your time painting and it's always nice to be able to do what you want in the comfort of your home. This is perfect for birthdays, girl's night or even just something to do with friends.

I am 27 years old, I'd say the class ranges from 17-70! There is about 10-ish people in the class. Each person works on their own piece- meaning she is NOT up in the front giving instructions while everyone paints the same dang thing. This is not the type of class. The classes are intimate, and very relaxed. She has everything you need to start your first masterpiece. Really, you don't need to bring a thing! You can choose any medium in the adult class- oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, ceramics, and probably even more. It's is SUCH a great place for a beginner, because you can try all the different mediums until you find one right for you, with no investment in supplies! This is rare. Sher really is a wonderful woman. She is as hands on or hands off as you need. If you need her to sit by you and walk you through every step, she's there. If you want to do you own thing she'll stop by with once or twice with encouragement and her two cents! Most students in the adult class have been going to her for years and doing their own thing, so she's always able to give extra attention to newbies. She is very chatty, it seems like everyone in the class is old friends. She has great stories to tell. I'm a bit quieter while I'm painting, but I do not find the chatter among the class distracting at all. Even though I've painted most my life, i was a bit nervous coming into a new studio- NO NEED! This is the most relaxed, kind group of people I've found. No artsy egos, no judgment, no pressure. Lastly, her children's classes and art camps seem to be super popular. Some of the parents are now in the adult class because they were jealous of how much fun the kids were having. How cool is that!

Showed up on the day to rent bikes and they allowed us to try a few before deciding. The bikes could be in better condition, most of the fleet were showing significant wear. One of our e-bikes had low battery charge and even though someone was able to bike out to where we were to delivery another battery, the replacement was also low and wouldn't be enough for the time we rented. We also lost time waiting for the other battery. However, kudos to the staff and owner because they made it right for us when we returned the bikes. Spot has good staff and a great location. Refreshing the bikes with newer models would bump it to 5 stars.

This Color Me Mine is the ultimate stress-reliever! Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I head over to the studio to paint away my worries. The process is therapeutic, and the studio's calming ambiance makes it an ideal spot to escape from the daily grind. The staff are so friendly and always have new ideas of things to create. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a creative outlet and a friends date event. They have specials during the week which helps the budget but honestly, for the time and amount of work spent on pieces by staff in the final glazing, firing and packing of the items it's a pretty good deal (you have to leave your pieces to be fired and they text you 3 days later for pickup). Yeah, they let me check out the kiln room process which is way more in-depth than I expected. Pretty cool and highly recommend this place! read more
