The staff member who rang me up had 0 customer service skills. She didn't say hello, make small talk or even tell me to have a nice day. Also, I thought an item was on sale, but it wasn't...when I asked her about it, she also wasn't very nice..."it's not on sale"! I've gone several times to walk around around 7pm. Almost every single time, the restrooms are already closed for "cleaning" the store doesn't close till 8pm. I've had to leave the store to go to the next door store to just use the restroom. When we spoke to the manager about maybe leaving the restroom open closer to closing time, they said they have the right to close the restroom as far as an hour till closing!! The selection of home decor was so cute and huge! It had a little bit of everything; it was very entertaining walking through every aisle and seeing the new things they had to offer. The prices were fair, and some items were on sale, which was a big win. However, even with the amazing selection, their customer service needs help. I was in line and told the cashier, "Hey, how are you today?" There was no response; he just continued talking to his coworker, who seemed to be a manager. He did not even acknowledge us once until he mentioned the payment method. After we left, I found that his name was Anthony. I understand it was Valentine's Day and not even near closing time, but it is nice to see some good customer service. read more

I'm so happy they have a location that is closer than the Huntington Beach location. It isn't far but this one is more convenient for me. I love coming here, you will definitely be overwhelmed by this store since there is almost too much stuff to look at. I didn't even know a store like this existed, I've been going to Michael's all my life until someone kept mentioning this place. For some reason I thought it was more like toys and stuff. The "hobby" threw me off, haha. But this store has everything you can possibly find to decorate your entire house. And every time there's a holiday, it is literally filled with amazing things right up front and I always get something cuz it's too cute to pass up. How does this type of magic exist? Came in not knowing what to expect. Walked in and blacked out from having way too much fun. Went home feeling extremely satisfied. Hobby Lobby is like a Michaels/Home Goods/Joanns/TJ Maxx type of hybrid. My boyfriend and I were on the hunt for some pretty canvasses to hang up in our bedroom and we spent so long in there and had so much fun that I forgot the concept of time. We loved how the decoration part of the store was split up by aesthetic! It was like having a treasure hunt. On one hand, it might be difficult to shop since everything is not necessarily grouped together. BUT you can also get inspired by the little displays down the aisles. I also found some of the CHEAPEST puzzles of all time at Hobby Lobby! I love Disney Thomas Kinkade puzzles but those tend to be $20-$30. I found them here for $10!!!! I went in with my sister to get a price adjustment on ribbon I purchased. The customer service "manager" Jody, didn't believe we purchased the ribbon when she saw us enter with the bag and just get straight in line. She said she had to check the cameras. This was my first time to visit this newly opened Hobby Lobby Store since it's conveniently located near my home. I was impressed by the organization of the items and most specifically a special mention to the store manager Amanda. She was at the entrance as I entered and relayed to her what I needed to do with my recent water fountain and sure enough she end up assisting me to buy the right materials that made my work a lot easier. This was my first-ever visit to any Hobby Lobby, not merely this location. The store itself is big and brightly lit, filled with loads of carefully tended merchandise. While they have plenty of sales staff on hand, no one greeted me when I first walked in or approached me to offer assistance of any kind. In fact, none of the employees seemed happy to be there. I appreciated the diversity of the product lines, many of which I hadn't seen elsewhere, yet thought that much of it (especially the yarn) was overpriced; sale prices equaled regular prices at other big-box chain stores. I also didn't care for the physical layout of the aisles; everything is situated on a slant so it's tough to move your cart past other shoppers or workers. Altogether, it's fine. Kind of impersonal and a bit sterile feeling. If you don't mind that, this might be the place for you. read more

I honestly never give reviews ever! I've also never been to a hobby lobby, and this was the worst experience I've ever had when it comes to customer service. There was a line of 10 people behind me and 3 workers including the manager with the twirly mustache just standing there talking to each other saying they were calling someone over to come ring people up. What was stopping any of the 3 of them from doing so? Lord knows. This is a smaller store than other hobby lobby's but they have the essentials. I had one particularly bad experience trying to return something I didn't have the receipt for. The cashier said there was nothing he could do. There is a sign posted that says something to the effect of customer satisfaction and accepting returns. I actually just wanted to exchange for a larger size and he refused. I went to a different hobby lobby and was assisted promptly. Not sure why this guy refused to help me out but I hope that customer service across stores would be more consistent than that. read more

I just tried returning something I bought at another location. Apparently it was rung up incorrectly at the other store. I had my receipt in hand and they refused to take it back because it was rung up under another category. This wasn't my fault but the fault of the associate. They directed me back to the other store so they could "review the tapes". Seriously? I'm not trying to swindle hobby lobby for a $17 item. It was near closing time and the manager was standing at the door staring at me to leave the store instead of coming to clearly explain the situation. I love Hobby Lobby and would drive all the way to Huntington Beach but because of distance not very often but now I have an excuse to come here because it is close to home. I came here yesterday and my experience was excellent! I do not understand why there are any low star ratings because I walked into a very organized and clean store. There were plenty of associates on the floor and I asked for help 3x because the store is so big. I had nothing but friendly help and even the manager assisted me with an item that we were both trying to figure out how it worked before I purchased it. Thanks to her great help, I did. There also was a guy on the floor that helped me too and I really appreciate him and the nice people that work here. I only went through half the store and was there for 1 1/2 hours! There is so much to see. So many decorative items, holiday things, crafts, books, furniture (chairs and tables), calendars, kitchen items, candles, oh my the list goes on and on. I can not wait to go back to see the rest of the store and spend another hour or two there. My experience was extremely positive, great customer service and fantastic selection! read more

Hobby Lobby has an excellent selection of sulk plants and art supplies. They always greet me when I come in, they are heloful finding things in the store and they provide good service. I recently had an involved return as I overvought silk flowers and Donald rook care of it efficiently and cheerfully without hassle. Its really ridiculous that this location only has one register open for returns and the person is just chit chatting away with the customers and taking a very long time. Its the middle of a weekday. People have places to go and things to do. I asked the manager if he could do a return on another open register. He replied he has rules as to how many people can jump on a register. The staff is so rude especially the manager. I waited over 30 minutes in line to do a return because she said there was only 1 register that could do returns. The customer in front of me had a very large order, lots of small items purchased. The manager finally helped the other customers in line after 15 minutes. Then another associate comes and opens a register. The manager tells me that she can help me! I was shocked and asked to make sure. You had me waiting over 30 minutes to return my items when you could have opened that register instead of the one that couldn't return my items?? She is so rude and ridiculous. I actually liked going to this one because I always seem to find a good stock amount of what I need every time I go. But the few times I have called in advance to see if items are in stock, it is as though the employees I have spoken with are too lazy to actually see if they have the item in stock. I understand that you need to look on the computer for inventory, but an "I don't know if we have that color" or "there's just too many for me in that style to go look" or "that's the problem, there's just so many" (literally said that). read more
