There I were two employees on a Saturday afternoon. Nimia & another woman- who ended up doing my blowout. The woman was lovely, but didn't speak much English, so Nimia translated for her. The man started counting my tips and made a nasty comment. I was very embarrassed. The manager listened near by and over. He was very nice. But the staff can be rude about tips very pushy sometimes and look at your tip then barely say thank you even if it is a high tip. I usually do 25 percent but they still seem Unappreciative.

I originally intended to bite the bullet and schlep into the city to a devachon salon to spend $200 on one of their famous curly cuts, but when covid hit I had to put those plans on hold. Thanks to the many recommendations from PM's to go to John, I'm so happy I never made it into the city. From the moment I stepped into the salon I was made to feel welcome, and John spent a ton of time teaching me how to take care of my curls while giving me the best cut I have ever had. The salon was extremely clean and up to date with all the covid precautions. I left with a bunch of samples and a totally transformed, happy head of hair. All in all if you're on the fence about where to go to get your curly hair cut, take it from someone who hasn't let someone touch their hair with a pair of scissors in years; I will definitely be returning to John in the future and hope you decide to give his salon a shot too.
