With much precaution but a Groupon nearing expiry, I braved up and got my first facial since COVID's existence. I made an appointment a week ago and it was a breeze. They even send a reminder email/text which is a nice touch. I got there and was impressed by the nice, sleek decor. Sanitizer was available right at the desk. I was asked to fill in a few sheets of information. The same lady did my microdermabrasion for less than 30 mins in a small but clean space. We had a friendly conversation but I wish a soothing music was playing in the background instead for a more zen feel. She suggested a hydra facial for next time which of course I felt I should get. I'm a little confused that some reviewers say it's not effective. I bought 6 times package and I just finished 3rd time. But I don't think I need more because I barely see hair, so I ask them to transfer this package to my daughter. They kindly accepted. ( I was hairy.) I initially started with bikini then added full legs then added face. My body hair was something I was so self conscious of and such a pain to get rid of ! I called yesterday to make an appointment and said that I wanted laser hair on my legs but didn't see it listed as a service on the Groupon. She said it's ok, it would be considered a large area and just take a picture of the Groupon price and show it at your appointment. 6 months ago I was struggling with a common problem most women have when it comes to unwanted hair growth in the wrong places(chin/lip)! I've had this problem since I was about 12 or 13. It started 1st with one or 2 hairs .. then 3 or 4.. then looking like the bearded lady. I'd Mismanaged the unwanted hair for years by shaving the area, tweezing, and using the small scissors as a quick fix to cut the hair in the early morning before school and work. I thought, okay let's try waxing/threading.. I'd go to my wax/thread lady every 3-4 days‍ & nothing worked and the hair grew back more intensely and thicker. The area around my lips and chin would get darker. Then about 6 months ago my coworker and friend told me about laser touch in garden city. She said she never been there but a friend of hers went and got amazing results and prices were affordable. I did the math comparing the waxing/threading to the laser treatment and found it would be way cheaper doing the laser treatment than what spend every 3 to 4 days on waxing/threading, and I only have to go once a month! Good experience. Dr. Kahn performed laser liposuction on my tummy, flanks, inner thighs, and arms. I decided to go for it after my consultation. I was armed with questions and I was comfortable with the answers he gave me. He told me to "be realistic" and that I would not look like the young woman on the poster in the room. I am 55 and and wanted to look 10 pounds lighter. Dr. Kahn and his assistant talked to me the entire time. He kept asking me if there was any pain. By the way, there was no pain. Just felt weird and tried to keep my thoughts away from what was going on. When he was finished, he told me he was very conservative especially with the thighs as he was concern that taking more fat away would cause them to concave. He said if under a year and I want more fat removed from the inner thigh that he would do it at no cost.I really appreciate that and felt he was t about the money. Post-op wasn't bad. First 24 hours very sore but bearable. Ive been walking, going to the store and going to my desk job with little discomfort. I wear my compression garments and the only time I feel soreness is when I remove them. I feel better with each day. Much less soreness and bruising as if today. The only "bad" thing was the antibiotic prescribed in case of an infection. Had to stop it at day 3. It was harsh on my stomach. Bruises are disappearing and I see a definite improvement with my waistline and some improvement with thighs and arms. I'm still going the healing and I look forward to more improvements. I have no regrets. I will post again in a few weeks. read more
