I love Studious! It's a beautifully appointed coworking space, but so much more than that - it's a real community hub for Chinatown as well! Judy & Moon who run the space are incredibly thoughtful, welcoming, supportive, and community-minded. They put on all kinds of events (check out their Meetup page "Chinatown Community Events"). I run a small pop-up tea house and have poured tea at many of their cultural events, including a Mid-Autumn Festival gathering and Lunar New Year mahjong & tea event, and even hosted a Tea 101 class here! It's always a joy to pour tea at Studious because the community that shows up is always so friendly, diverse, interesting, and there's always good conversation to be had. I've met new friends and collaborators here. Plus they support some awesome local causes! Support this local Chinatown business!!

Community event with Masalawali Chai. We had tea tasting and learned how to make paper flowers.

Studious Review I finally found a coworking space that truly makes me feel at home (and not just a paid member). Studious in Chinatown has curated a cozy, warm, and welcoming experience for both introverted and extroverted folx. There is a Metro Rail stop close by and easy parking. They have parking info on their website. It's the perfect vibe to do remote work. It's quiet, spacious, has a small kitchen, and the staff is super friendly and chill. Judy, Moon and Alex truly care about the community members. They want to make sure folx feel comfortable at Studious. Also, Studious has amazing community spaces! They frequently host events (ie. Game Nights, Mahjong tournaments, Potluck Stories, Art events, and more). I even got to co-host a community event with another small business, and it was so, so fun! I also love their commitment to social justice and wanting to give back to local and global causes. Thanks Studious for being another home away from home.

    Nice space

I started working from Studious Coworking Space in Los Angeles, and I have to say, I've had a great experience. The staff at Studious Coworking Space are friendly and welcoming. I see them going out of their way to make sure I have everything I need to be productive. They care about their members and I can see they're diligent in looking for ways to improve the space. One of my favorite things about Studious Coworking Space is the sense of community that I feel here. I got to meet some like-minded individuals who share my passion for entrepreneurship. It feels nice to be surrounded by these kinds of people. It's a shared office space with a great vibe.

    This is fine :)

They refuse to own up to their mistakes. I am extremely disappointed in Alberto and The Mailbox. They are changing the facts after the fact. Please do not believe any response they post here. I tried multiple times to get them to do the right thing. Mistakes happen, but it is what a business does when that happens that matters. I needed to get a notarized document by Friday at 3 PM. I was in their office on Wednesday and knew the cutoff was probably around 4 or 5 PM. We looked at 2-day options to make sure it got there before Friday at 3 PM. I decided not to risk it and paid extra to have the package arrive Thursday night by 8 PM, based on the understanding that it would be sent out Wednesday. I have their receipt that says Thursday at 8 PM, not Friday at 8 PM. I was never told it would miss the Wednesday cutoff. If I had known, I would have paid extra for FedEx Overnight Priority to get it there Friday morning or gone to FedEx myself where the cutoff is 5 PM. The package did not arrive on time and caused major issues. When I contacted them, they told me to file a claim with FedEx even though they knew it was dated Thursday and not eligible for a refund. I spent an hour on the phone with FedEx on multiple calls, a total wild goose chase. After I found out the package missed the cutoff, they changed their story and said I had been told about it and that they were doing me a favor trying to make the cutoff. That is not true. If they had said the cutoff might be missed, I would have made different choices including a 5 minute drive to Fedex store to get it there by 5 PM or again, sent it Overnight Priority to get there by Friday by 11:30 AM. I thought I was supporting a local business, but they do not deserve support. I am disappointed they refuse to make this right. They may reply claiming I was told otherwise, but that is not true. If something goes wrong, you will be out of luck. Go to the UPS Store (they are great) or FedEx Office instead. This was my first and last time going there.

The employee assisting me, Jesus, placed the wrong shipping label on the wrong package. Because of this error, the recipient received a $2 calculator instead of the materials we shipped. When I called the store to report the issue, the manager, Josh, was immediately rude and dismissive. He falsely accused me of yelling, told me I needed to come into the store to resolve it, and then hung up on me. I then went to the store in person and spoke with a woman named Violet. I calmly explained the situation, but she was extremely condescending and refused to take any responsibility for the mistake made by their employee. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, she told me I needed to take it up with UPS corporate. What made the situation even more disturbing was that Violet accused me of coming into the store "aggressive," which was completely untrue. I was calm and respectful the entire time. As a Black woman, being immediately labeled as aggressive when I was simply trying to address and resolve a mistake made by the store reflects the harmful and tired "angry Black woman" stereotype. That stereotype does not apply to me, and it should not be used to dismiss legitimate concerns from customers. Instead of taking accountability for a clear error made in their store, the staff chose to be dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. I will be filing formal complaints with UPS corporate and the Better Business Bureau regarding both the mishandling of this shipment and the way I was treated. If you want to avoid the headache and disrespect, I strongly recommend going to the Figueroa location, where the staff are professional, helpful, and actually customer-service oriented.

I had important documents including a driver's license that needed to be shipped to my son in England, which I sent to be held for pick up. When my son arrived at the pick-up location, he was told by the staff in England that there was a special code he needed or they couldn't release the package (it was sent no signature required, addressed to him, and he had ID.) Knowing how impossible Fed Ex is to deal with, I went in person to Studio City Mailboxes to ask for help. One of the two employees on duty spent over an hour working with me on this before calling Michelle, the manager, who remembered me sending the package and said she would work on it even though she was not presently on duty in the store. It took several days to resolve because no one but Michelle and the staff at Studio City Mailboxes seemed to care or be willing to make any effort to resolve the issue. Michelle spent DAYS contacting Fed Ex, keeping me informed of her process, and even called my son in England to make sure he was ultimately successful picking up his package. Michelle then gave me a courtesy refund of the $70 charge for Fed Ex. I hope that Studio City Mailboxes was not out of pocket for the time and effort they made to resolve an important issue. This is what customer service by humans, not a chatbot, looks like. Both Michelle and her colleague understood the problem (which was not of their making) and the importance of correcting it, and did everything they could think of until it was resolved. They easily could have shrugged and given me the phone number for Fed Ex (which no human answers) but they never put it on me to solve this or to pay for inadequate service. I've been coming to Studio City Mailboxes for years, I've seen the staff, especially Michelle, deal with difficult customers and frustrating situations, and staff has always been courteous, professional, and proactive. I can't express my appreciation enough, staff's work and attitude is why I will keep coming back, 100%
