Been going here for years. Under the old ownership, this place was definitely a 4 star establishment. He was always interacting with his customers, and made you feel welcome. The new owners have been there for about a year and a half now, and it's just a run of the mill bagel place that has some deserts and chopped salads. Not amazing, not terrible.... Just average. For a quick lunch stop off, it's ok. I will say however that their buffalo chicken salad is great! read more

The food is good but I'm giving them 3 stars because they nickel and dime the customer. I ordered chicken salad today with a bagel on the side and they charged me 15 cents to slice the bagel! Are you kidding me I thought so I asked the server and he shrugged his shoulders and said they charge for everything here. They used to offer a free coffee refill for sit down customers but they stopped doing that. They charge Starbucks prices for their coffee so they have room to offer a free refill and still make plenty of profit but they won't do it. They also have a $10 minimum for credit card purchases. Went there and ordered roast beef on a roll, extra mayo. Simple, right? First off the counter person needed to clean a knife. Does she use a paper towel or napkin? No. She picks up a register receipt lying on the counter and uses that. Disgusting to say the least. They weigh all the meat that goes onto a sandwich. I guess that's how they maintain a profit. But when extra meat is sliced, they throw out the overage rather than make a slightly larger sandwich. Idiotic to say the least. At least ask me if I'm willing to pay extra, don't throw it out. Salads are so-so, nothing bad but nothing great. I decided to give it another try, a neighbor had given me a gift card because I did her a favor. Back I go to stuff a bagel. There's a few people in the place. I place my order, and the kid at the register is waiting for payment. Now I'm looking for the gift card. It took me maybe thirty seconds to find it. Apparently this was too long. Now I'm the only one at the counter, other patrons are eating and apparently watching. This kid decides I've taken too long and announced in a loud, clear voice with a sarcastic tone, "what's the matter? No money to pay? Too poor to afford lunch?" The owner was right there. I went over to discuss this with him. The kid charged over, realizing he'd overstepped some lines, and started yelling that I was trying to not pay. I showed the owner, and the kid the gift card, which I had located, and a bunch of twenties that were in my wallet. The owner decided he had forgotten how to speak English and the kid stood there smirking. The other customers, one of which I knew, got quite the floor show. If you like cheaply made sandwiches, unsanitary conditions, and rude staff this place is for you. Otherwise go elsewhere. You'll be glad you passed on this place. read more

I try to support our local shops. However, this bagel shop has the most obnoxious female workers I have ever met. I sometimes go in the morning. I try to have patience, but they are always talking but when you want to purchase something you have to wait until they are good and ready. If they don't want to work they shouldn't be in the front. They are trashy and have no professionalism. In addition, the prices are sometimes more than manhattan stores, and the food is not so great ! I would not recommend this place to anyone who is having a large party. My parents placed an order from here for my bridal shower for 60 people. When discussing the order and placing it with the owner's daughter they decided on 3 different large panini's, 25 of each kind cut into thirds. So we would have 75 of each sandwich. It was a Tea party and they thought they would be adorable finger food sandwiches. We reviewed the contract, clarified any confusions, and paid for the order (they are also very pricy!!) When they picked up the order they had only prepared 25 mini panini's of each kind, a total of 75 in all!! And not nearly enough for the large party of 60 people. Then when my parents wanted to speak with the staff about it, they said that it was stated that way on the contract and they had nothing else to do with the situation. We ended up having to get cold cuts at King Kullen, and I spent half an hour, with my bridesmaids and my family, of my bridal shower rolling cold meat and slicing bread for our hungry guests. Not exactly what any bride wants to do at her own shower, besides the extreme humilation of looking unprepared for the shower. I have to say being in the restaurant service business I was very disappointed. A guest, a paying customer asked the person behind the counter do you charge extra for toasting a bagel? The woman with a blonde ponytail not only was nasty in answering the PAYING customer but was down right mocking the man like she was onstage at the Apollo. The man simply stated you should let people know you charge extra for toasting (because it isn't posted anywhere on prices) rather than including it in the sandwich price. Very sneaky and it's 15 cents extra. The amount is not the point here. It's the sneakiness of it. And the counter person who answered should not be in that position if she can't handle herself professionally. Not only was she berating the man while he was there she continued to make fun of him after he left. With quotes like "I'll charge 5 cents extra for asking stupid questions" . All the man did was question the sly charge you snuck in but instead of being helpful, and doing what you should in the business apologizing and refunding the charge. You now have lost more guests than you can imagine in all that were there and witnessed the interaction. Including myself , the man who asked and the others surrounding. Their are far too many good Delis in Long Island to give my business to a place where they treat their guests like shit. Never again. Hope the owners read this because the trend of the reviews is disturbing. Your staff is very unprofessional and it's going to cost you your business. read more

Bagels are not on par with what a New York bagel should be. They taste like 3 day old supermarket bagels. If you're in the mood for a bagel go elsewhere I would not call these bagels for that would be an insult to bagels. read more

I've never written a review of a place before but this was just so disgusting I have to warn others. We have been coming to Stuff a Bagel for years and have not had an issue. Today was another story. We walked in and the woman behind the counter was (and I'm not being over dramatic when I say this) ferociously digging her finger in her ear. Unfortunately she was the first person to address us even though we made eye contact with about 3 or 4 other employees before that. She took our order and did not wash her hands or put on gloves. I was so mortified I couldn't even look at her in the eye. The food was promptly tossed in the trash, I didn't care about the wasted money. Stuff a Bagel, please train your employees in hygiene a little better, this was nauseating. It will be awhile before I return. read more

Worst bagel place I've ever been to. Dirty and discusting. Got both our orders wrong. Asked for 2 over easy eggs plated and they were put on some old stale non toasted bagel. Order taken by Asian woman that did not understand what we were saying. Then delivered by an Asian woman who I witnessed on 2 occasions rubbing her lower lip with her finger , then picking up orders and handing them to customers. Went there for a quick sandwich today, a simple buffalo chicken Cold cut, mozzarella cheese, avocado and lettuce on a bagel. Now I totally understand the high prices of avocados these days. But cmon. Nearly charged me $11 for a sandwich. I asked the cashier lady why so much and she said $6.99 is for just the meat of the Sandwhich. So your telling me I can get a pound of chicken Cold cuts for $5.99$-$6.99 at the super market and you charge for a dismal 1/8-1/4 of a lb for $6.99??? That's highway robbery if you asked me. Meanwhile there are complete sandwiches on the menu board for $6.99. I settled for an egg everything lightly toasted with butter on the side. According to stuff a bagel that means "burnt bagel with enough butter to spread on a ritz cracker". I've been here a few times and some of there things are decent but every other time I feel like I'm getting robbed. There are so many delis out there that I'd rather drive 10 mins to get a great sandwhich for half the price. Beware of the sneaky charges they plug into the computer when they ring you up too!!! 25 cents to put your half decent bagel in the toaster!! Insane. High labor rates at this place I guess. Lol. Stuff-A-Bagel is the worst bagel store I have every encountered. My company orders from them frequently, but I have decided to not order anything any longer because they are sure to mess up at least one thing for each person's order. Also, when you go there they have a $10.00 credit limit which is ridiculous. They have an ATM in the store but good luck with that one because the buttons barely work. When you order in the store there is a person to ring you up, and there is a person that makes your order. I waited about 15 minutes for an everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese. There was no line and they were not busy. About 3 employees stood around just looking at me and looking around until finally someone was able to prepare my bagel for me. A simple order took 15 minutes. It is just unacceptable. Their delivery minimum is $20.00. I suppose every business is allowed to create their own delivery minimum but most places are $15.00. I think 20.00 is absurd. I refuse to go there and I tell others not to go there because of how many poor experiences I've had with them. Their food is okay I guess, but it's just not worth it for the horrendous service they provide. I would give no star for this rating but I am forced to give at least one star, but it is not deserved at all. read more
