Alec was recommended to us by a coworker and we were so happy we went with him. We started with a leak test and ended up having to replace the entire unit. Alec included new drip pan, new celling vents, and a new wifi thermostat, all for a very reasonable price. (The money paid for the leak test was applied to the replacement). Other places quoted us much more for this so we were happy with the price. The vents he replaced allow something like 40% more air flow and trust me I can tell. When I season my broccoli under the vent the seasonings drift in the breeze, and paper towels fly off the counter lol (we angled it differently after this). But wow she blows SO cold it's great. He was very easy to communicate with (I was worried based on other reviews) but he was always texting me throughout the process and even a few weeks after when I had a followup questions. We had a great experience with Sturges. My A/C compressor had gone out at the home we just bought. Fortunately, I had a home warranty, but the warranty company was (as is typical) a mess to deal with. Multiple techs came out, and I got conflicting feedback from the warranty company about what they'd cover. They finally agreed to replace the compressor (and none of the related parts), but the whole system was 20 years old so who knew what might fail next... I decided to take cash from the warranty company and go my own way. Enter Sturges. On a recommendation from a neighbor I called Sturges and Alec asked me to send him photos of the units and the setup. He was able to quote me just from the photos without needing to come over (appreciated in light of COVID). While we were taking time to decide what we wanted to do, we found an issue with our heater right as the temperatures dipped into the 40s. He sent a guy out to fix the issue on little notice. A few days later, he had some time in his schedule free up. Knowing we were still deciding on how far to go with our system replacement, Alec sent me an offer I couldn't refuse. A great price (below his original quote) and an upgrade to a more efficient unit if we could start the job the next day. I jumped at it. Jeff and the rest of the team did a great job, in-and-out in a half day, replacing our entire system (minus ducting) and left the place perfectly clean. Everyone wore masks and was very accommodating to our need to move around the place as well. Alec is great! He came recommended from a friend who has used him on a few builds. My contractor wanted to use "his guy." When I met with that guy, I asked for a 7 zone system. He informed me it would be too expensive and difficult to do. Despite telling him this was important to us, he said it is not a good idea. So I called Alec.... I spoke to Alec and told him what I wanted and he didn't hesitate to tell me it will work just fine. Alec sent out Jeff to talk to me and review the plans. Jeff was awesome to talk to! He understood what we wanted and how to make it work. Alex's bid came in at the same price as the other guys bid. The other guys bid was for no zones, 1 HVAC system and no additional equipment. Alec's bid included 6 zones (we eliminated zone 7, the room above the garage), 6 Ecobee thermostats, installation of my 2 yr old furnace and AC units, a new second furnace and slimline AC unit and no charge for installing my QuietCool system. During installation, Jeff was great to work with. He answered questions, made suggestions to improve on what we wanted and did the changes without additional charges. We are not completed with the build. The final stage involves getting the system up and running when the house in complete. I'll update the post then. read more

If you want honest service with fair pricing, these are your guys! I can't say enough about how great these guys are. My experience will speak for itself: I called for a third quote as my heater had been out for quite some time. The first quote I received from another company was to replace the mother board in the heater.. the tech stated that water must have gotten on it(?). Over 5k was that quote. As I couldn't afford that, I called someone else for a second opinion. That quote was worse. The owner of the second company stated that the entire house in the crawl space had to have a complete overhaul before he would work on it. He pointed out corrosive pipes (house was built in 1925) and said its hazardous.. that quote was over 10k. Thank GOD I then called Sturges. I talked to the owner, Al, and within two hours he sent over Tom. Tom was very professional, and I saw him messing with thermostat... he replaced the batteries then went down the crawl space stairs with a filter.. I asked him, why the filter? He said well it needs a new one. It's fixed. I actually told him, it is not.. it hasn't been working for years. He said, no it's blowing fine. I replaced the batteries and it's good to go... I told him about about all the talk from the other companies, and he said, no it's fine.. it's working now.. It's so refreshing to have HONEST and EFFICIENT professionals such as Sturges. I called up Sturges Heating and Air Conditioning to get a second opinion on our AC unit. Prior to Sturges, I had a reputable HVAC company perform a tune up of my 5Ton unit and that it needed to be completely replaced since it was at the end of its life. Alec came out to take a look and discovered that the previous company that did the tune up installed the incorrect part and Alec replaced it with the correct manufacturer part. My wife and I moved into our mid-century modern home almost two years ago. The previous owners installed exposed ductwork A/C, but in one area, the ductwork is partially exposed, partially above the ceiling panel. And in this area, when A/C runs on hot days, we get condensation which ultimately drips on everything below it. We had guys out to look at it, but none seemed to know what they were talking about. Then I found Sturges Heating and Air Conditioning. I spoke to Alec, the owner, who came out the next day. He noted that the ductwork is not insulated, thus creating the condensation. We recently had Sturges install forced air & heat into our 1950's home in Long Beach. This is a pretty difficult home in that it sits on a slab and has an extremely low attic, so the install was on the more difficult side. Alec showed up to do the walk through and proposal, had a great attitude, was very respectful of our space, and really showed a passion for his business. His pricing is fair and he is honest and straightforward, and this has a lot of value to me. The crew he brought in were really great. There will always be a bit of discomfort during any type of construction project in the home, but they did everything they could to make it easy on us. They worked hard each day, they updated us on everything that was going on, and they included me in all of the discussions of what was going on. They finished everything in 3 days flat, which was very impressive. They handled everything from the installation to drywall cleanup and roof repair, so there were no surprises.
