It was around holiday time so we decided to wait until the new year to begin the project. I got in touched with Wayne after the new year and we couldn't be happier with the end product. His pricing, expertise, and professionalism was unbeatable. From the time of us signing up for the project, it took about 6 weeks to get the project started and the once it started, about a few days for the fireplace installation from scratch, and then a few more days for them to install the mantel. Wayne is very easy to work with and is very kind and professional. He even recommended someone to fix and patch up our drywall afterwards and the results are phenomenal. I forget his name, but whoever I spoke with was very honest upfront that my pits were too small of jobs for him to work on but he referred me to someone for both pits and the bbq as well. His recommendation was Dan who came out and took a look at all 3 things. I believe Dan is with another company, if he or anyone from this company know please kindly reply to this post and inform what company that is! Dan was fantastic, gave me costs and showed me the issues then and there. He also looked at my pit in my front courtyard and was able to solve the minor issue at no charge, simple fix. I decided I didn't want my backyard fire pit fixed because the front one is much nicer and now that it is fixed I doubt I will ever use the one in my backyard--another project yay. Will have to demo it one day. Dan then fixed the bbq and it now looks incredible and works great. I have since used it a handful of times with no issues. After only 1.5 years, the unit has already stopped working properly, which is unacceptable for such an expensive investment. Despite following all maintenance recommendations, I've had issues with burner failure, electrical and remote. When I reached out the owner, he was very unhelpful, unresponsive and extremely rude every time I was able to get hold of him. A fireplace should last much longer than this, and I would not recommend HB FIRE PITS based on my experience. If you're considering purchasing from them, I strongly suggest looking into other options or ensuring you get an extended warranty. Also my next-door neighbor also purchase the same fireplace like mine at the same time, and she's been having many problems with the hardware and the owner. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service from HB fire pits, especially from the owner. When my fireplace started having issues, I reached out for repairs and maintenance, expecting professional assistance. Instead, I was met with rudeness, dismissiveness, and a complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction. Rather than standing behind their product and helping to resolve the problem, the owner was unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility. Calls and messages were ignored or met with short, unprofessional responses. When I finally did get a response, it was clear they were more interested in avoiding the issue rather than actually fixing it. A company is only as good as its customer service, and unfortunately, HB Fire Pits fails in that regard. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a fireplace company that actually values its customers and stands behind its products.

While he was here, he also installed a damper clamp that we didn't realize was missing, which brought the fireplace up to code. Before calling Fireplace Doctor, we had another company come out. They made the situation sound much more serious and tried to convince us we needed a completely new fireplace unit because they claimed our setup was dangerous. Mike calmly explained why that wasn't the case and helped put our minds at ease. We really appreciated his knowledge, integrity, and the time he spent walking us through everything.

From the moment I called to the time the job was done, the whole experience was a pleasant breeze. Jesse responded right away. He was able to accommodate me even though I have been changing appointments. He was even able to work something out on the same day. Luis came to do the Chimney, Dryer Vent, and Duct cleaning around the house. This man loves his work, and does it conscientiously. He has pride in what he does, and rightfully so. He came in to inspect what he will be doing and quoted me a fair price. He came in ready with all his equipment , his mask and booties. He went above and beyond, especially with the dryer vent, where he noticed damage, replaced it, and left my laundry room squeaky clean from all the lint that has been accumulating from the broken vent. He sweeped the Chimney after well preparing the area around it, and not one drop of soot laid outside of the fireplace through the process. Jessie did a great job cleaning one of our fireplaces and installing a burner. While he was working, we discovered a leak coming from a second chimney and Jessie immediately identified the problem and offered to repair it. Jesse was honest that we did not require chimney nor dryer hose cleaning. Our house had odd size filters, which we had to get last minute. Jesse came out to reinstall our chimney cap, which blew off during the gust of winds earlier in 2025. While he was out, we had the chimney and fireplace place swept and crown sealed to prevent leaks. He also installed the C clamp for the flue damper per gas fireplace codes. He was also able to remove the obsolete satellite dish and patch the holes. He was quick and helpful. As a business owner…read moremyself, I can tell he's a great guy--very knowledgeable, extremely patient, and not pushy at all. I didn't end up hiring them to fix the leak because my AC is still under warranty, so I had the original installer handle the repair. However, I would highly recommend this company--especially Jim--to everyone, including my neighbors in OC.
