If you love your dog, please do not take them to Style Mutt. I had been a customer for years, despite the fact that my dogs would often be nicked or shaved so low that they were red and itchy for days! The last TWO times I went there, Pam tried to add additional charges. I questioned why the price went from $60 to $ 70 and was told "oops I don't know why the groomer did that." The second time was the kicker....tried to charge an additional $5 for nails. I told her the nails were not done and I didn't ask for them to be done. So sketchy! I wonder how many other people are being overcharged and not aware. Also, the fact that my dogs have to wait in a cage for hours is ridiculous! One of my dogs is a rescue that literally trembles when put in a cage. I asked to be called when done and I'd pick her up, even if it meant two trips (I have 2 small dogs) and that never happened. For poor haircuts, overcharging attempts and paying more than the cuts are worth....I will never go back! I've told several friends who are now looking to go elsewhere. read more

My groomer recently moved to this location so of course I followed her there. Sophie does the best style cuts on my dog and is the best groomer I've had. The shop is full of fun toys and health treats for dogs they even gave a treat bag at the end of the grooming to take home. They have a walk area behind the building so that's super convenient. My elderly mother was running late so I attempted to call but like alot of times nobody answered. 5 minutes after the set appointment I get a call asking where we were. The man was very rude.I explained my mother was running late and she was on her way. My mother showed up 28 minutes late and they denied the appointment which is completely fine but this same man was also very rude to my 70 year ol mother. Completely uncalled for. We just rescued a sweet (but still anxious) German Shepherd a week ago and she has been chewing her own nails so I took her to Style Mutt and I cannot say enough nice things about our first experience there. The groomers were so sweet and patient with her, they gave her treats and cuddles and she wasn't nearly as nervous by the time they were done. Added bonus? We loved our first experience at Style Mutt. We have a Wheaten Terrier and it's been difficult to find a groomer who has experience with the traditional Wheaten cut, as it's pretty detailed and our dog has a LOT of hair. Pam, the owner, is super friendly and was nice enough to let me drop our dog off early for his appointment, so that I could go to work. He was kept in an area without crates and it was nice to be able to leave him there for the day. The groomer did exactly what we asked for, and our dog looked and smelled amazing! Prices are reasonable and he also got a goody bag with treats for the ride home. I could also tell that he was not stressed out or overwhelmed from the long day away from home. The Infamous Abbey Kitty has long fur that gets dreaded up in the winter months. She will not allow her coat to be brushed for long before biting the handler. My mama has tried to tame this beast to no avail. The theme song of Abbey Kitty is "Mama Tried" by Merle Haggard. Her fur is haggard as Merle and finally we found a groomer that will let her unfurl. She is roaming the neighborhood with a new sense of confidence. I will never forget the day I came home from college to visit family and had to cut a turd roped up as poop lock by poor Abbey Kitty's butt. Finally! I found this place on recommendation from Becca at The Mutt Hutt and what a great find. My poor little girl had been having really bad experiences from other groomers. Bad, really bad trims, shaving her belly for no reason or leaving her in a cage for hours to dry instead of drying her themselves. I will only send my dogs here for grooming care. My little guy has short hair and despite only needing a bath and claws cut, he too didn't get any better care. He was much happier here too. read more

So far it's been super easy to get him in and as a working family we LOVE their hours - they're open on the weekends! So I have been a patron of Style Mutt for years. Buy over the past year or two I have noticed their business really going downhill, which prompted this review. I understand price increase but I went from paying $90 to $150 in one year for the exact same services. I have 2 dogs, one is very easy to groom and so he always comes out looking good. My other dog is an older girl and (I believe) a little more difficult, this is because she gives me a hard time when I bathe her at home. Well, for some reason he cut always looks super choppy. The last time she had a razor burn on her belly. I also don't feel the warm welcome we used to get from Pam or her staff. Talk about trying to take advantage of customers, Style Mutt on Warren takes the prize. We usually have our baby groomed in Westlake, but are trying to frequent local business when possible. When I called for an appointment to have my 15-year-young miniature schnauzer groomed at Style Mutt, they quoted me $45.00 for a grooming. Today, when we arrived, the cost was increased to $65.00 as they, "Charge $5.00 extra for ear cleaning, $5.00 more for nail clipping", etc...services that are normally included as part of standard grooming fee. No wonder they called to say the appointment prior to mine cancelled. A wasted trip. read more

My husband and I take our furry bundle of joy, Big Mac to get his nails filed and shaved. I absolutely love the staff. They are so professional and friendly. Big Mac loves going to Style Mutt and goes crazy with excitement as soon as we enter the door. Style Mutts sells a bunch of food and other items for pets. The Good: The owner here and the groomer were *lovely.* I felt like they genuinely loved animals and took tender loving care of my fragile, elderly pup. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and valued. The Confusing: In shopping for prices for a local groomer, I called many places, and when I called here, there was a misunderstanding that caused me to believe their prices were much cheaper than they actually were. The owner made up for the error, but I wouldn't have come - and can't return - based on the actual prices ($40+ for a basic bath, cut, and nail trim). The Bad: My dog looked precious after his grooming, but his hair was left so long that it grew out very, very quickly. He's not a show dog, so when he gets groomed, it needs to last a little while, and I'm not as concerned about the cuteness of it all. Also, he reeked with a strong chemical odor, which was gross and concerning. I have no idea why he would smell like chemicals instead of fresh and clean. Also, for a couple of weeks after his grooming, my dog would twitch and jerk his head around as though he had something in his ears. I was preparing to take him to the vet by the time he seemed to recover. It's weird...for his ears to be bothering him and smelling like chemicals fresh from the groomer's. I'm just being honest here...I think these people were so pleasant, and TLC is worth the $$ for sure, but his strange post-grooming conditions were too concerning to return. read more

We took our dog here last week for some grooming. The woman who owns it, Pam, was extremely friendly and cheerful (and it wasn't even 9:00 am). She invited me to come to their "Yappy Hour" which they have on the second Tuesday of the month. She said there is wine, beer, and pizza. The dogs get to socialize, it only costs $5, and the money goes to the local ASPCA. I was tempted to go, but I couldn't make it. Maybe next time. It was a little more expensive than our usual place, but I trust that they took good care of Baxter and they did a really nice job. read more

They are fabulous- I have a very anxious Pomeranian who has ben banned from grooming at several places because he has bitten groomers and generally behaved very badly. Stay away from this business! And do not bring your dogs to Renee to be groomed. Renee was beyond rude. I brought my golden doodle to be groomed and expected a nice haircut given the prices of the groom. I was called three hours later saying he was done. When I show up they bring a shaved dog to me. Renee NEVER called me to ask if we were okay with having him shaved. This type of call is expected at any grooming facility. She never asked before we left when dropping him off if we would be okay with having him shaved. This is disappointing and unprofessional. And then I get home and find two large cuts with dried blood on both ears, and one under his armpit. It is infuriating to me that this was not mentioned by the groomer. As a courtesy to your customers, it is expected that you tell the owners if you have hurt their dogs. We are paying you good money for a service. Rude, lies, deceiving, unprofessional... My golden doodle is a puppy. If you are unable to have the patience to groom a puppy, you shouldn't be groomed at all. We will not be coming back to this business. read more
