Personally, I'm TERRIBLE at clipping my cat's nails. I have no idea why I'm so bad at it, but I am. As a result, it was becoming difficult to play with him. A co-worker of mine suggested Waggs-N-Whiskers. He said that he takes his cat here often to get its nails clipped and that the staff was kind, in addition to having extremely affordable prices so... I decided to give them a call. I took Severus in for a full Grooming Treatment (which included a shower, haircut, nail clipping, ear cleaning, etc.). While I won't be doing the haircut again, I couldn't be more than happy with the service. The staff called me to let me know how things were going mid service and to let me know when I could come back to get him. I've already scheduled his next two appointments. As long as I'm in Cleveland, I plan to keep returning. read more

Elvis gets a shave once or twice a year thanks to hairballs. We've been going to Waggs-N-Whiskers for 4 years now. He likes greeting new animals from his crate upon arrival. He's not a fan of blow dryer. The staff say the only thing he does is an occasional hiss while sitting calming for his trim. He's always relaxed when it's time to pick him up and drive home. I dropped off my histrionic cat, BeBop, at 1pm for her bath and a light trim. I was called not unexpectedly about an hour later as she was refusing to leave her kennel. I drove back and helped Amy and another very friendly blonde groomer bathe BeBop quickly but with great care. I then held BeBop to keep her calm while the personable blonde groomer quickly but again carefully trimmed her up including a quick buzz around the paw pad area. The two ladies were so patient and gracious in light of BeBop's diva behavior. I'm so glad they didn't just give up and that they allowed me to hold the Bopster to get the job done. Thank you so much Waggs-N-Whiskers for your care and time spent making sure BeBop looks her best! Bonus- I got to pet one of the groomer's dogs while there (Linus the adorable Boxer puppy!). Do not bring you cat here! I have a long haired male cat who needs sanitary shaves. When I made the appointment with Caley, I was told I had to drop my cat off and pay for a $75 service, despite them offering a $10 while-you-wait shave. Once I got my cat back, I saw the service was not properly done. His belly and legs were shaved/trimmed, but his backside was not. The back of his legs were cut so jagged, it looked like a kindergartner did it with safety scissors. The whole point of the sanitary shave is to keep him clean. His poop is now getting stuck in the jagged cuts more than it was before. I had to take him to another groomer to get it fixed. On top of the service I requested not being done, the owner, Julie, did at least one service that I did not consent to. My cat has chronic ear infections and I have to take very specific care of his ears. Julie told me they cleaned his ears but would not tell me how. I have no idea what tools or products they used and my vet is concerned about damage. We have to watch for the next few weeks. My vet also believes they sedated my cat. When I brought him home, he was incredibly lethargic and would not come out from under my bed for three days. He was acting like he does when he gets a shot, but the lethargy lasted for much longer. When I called to try to resolve the situation, both Julie and Caley screamed at me for 20+ minutes. They called me stupid and said I was lying. They made me describe what the person I dropped him off with looked like (the owner) because they said I was making things up. They offered no solutions to the hack job they did on my cat. When I said if they can't remedy the situation, I would have to leave an honest review, the owner called me heartless. She said she has 3 kids and this is how she supports her family so to leave a bad review would threaten her livelihood. I consider my cat to be part of my family and she threatened his wellbeing, so I don't really care. One bad review isn't going to tank your business, but it might prevent someone else's pet from being mistreated. read more

I have used Waggs-N-Whiskers to groom my Shih-Tzu for some time, as has my daughter. My regular groomer at this store quit to do something else and when I took my dog for grooming, the new groomer who did the grooming did an awful job grooming my dog. When I picked him up, she said he was a calm happy puppy (he is!). But she scalped/nicked his backside and up his tail. After I brought him home, for the next four days, he had difficulty going on walks due to its burning and he would just walk 10 feet and sit down. Really bad job. I went down to complain next day but the salon was closed and tried to call the folioing day and got no answer. I called to cancel my next appointment and told the perky receptionist that I was canceling and the reasons why and she said "OK, thanks for cancelling." I was taken aback that there wasn't even an apology and told her she must hear this often if this was her response. I recommend you avoid this place. It's too bad. I'd rate this place zero stars if I could. wish I could take back bringing my dog here. They completely butchered him. Looks like a two year old took a razor to half of him. If you know anything about an Aussie their hair is not supposed to be shaved that short, it messes with their natural heating and cooling system. Not only does he look sloppy and unprofessional, he wasn't even all the way done. I dropped him off at noon and at 330 I picked him up. 3 1/2 hours later for a hack job and not even completely done. Behind his ears wasn't even brushed, he had knots still. I didn't even notice how bad it was until I got home or else I would not of paid. I honestly would like a refund or to see proof of their dog grooming license because this is pathetic. read more

They mentioned my dog had a small paper sized cut on her tongue from licking when they were trimming her face, but it was a pretty deep cut that they down played. My dog must have drooled blood all night from the cut and I woke up with a pool of dried blood the next morning. The cut definitely could have happened anywhere but I was upset how much they blew it off! read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. We have taken our Cavapoo puppy to them once before with no issues besides some minor issues with the style of cut, but we will NEVER take him again after Saturday. I dropped him off at 1:30 specifically stating over and over that I did not want them to shave him, and that I wanted him to be trimmed on his body, and cleaned up around his face, paws, etc. I was promised that they would do their best and would follow my instructions. I picked him up after about 2 hours and he was COMPLETELY butchered. His face looked like they didn't even take a comb to it, his body was trimmed so unevenly you can clearly see the difference in coat length all across his back, and his belly is shaved down to the skin. The worst part is they didn't even tell me they shaved him, and they CUT HIM. I will never ever take my puppy here again, and I am disgusted with the lack of communication as well as professionalism this business displays! read more

I took my dog in today with a beautiful coat of fur I have taken him here in the past . I ask for a poodle cut he is a labradoodle and she told me she could do the cut if she ran into any problems with the cut she would call me . I get a phone call saying he would be done in 20 minutes I found it strange because it normally takes about about 3 hours she called a hour after I dropped him off . I picked him up only to want to cry he was bald she cut all his hair off . I was pissed I will never take my dog here again ever . I feel that she was lazy and did not care how he looked and just cut him the easy way it's 30 degrees out today he was so cold this is not okay I feel this is a place for a basic cut not skilled cuts at all I could have done a much better job then her ...I feel the cut was so bad I am not even sure that the lady that cut him has had any professional training at all the owner was nice about it and did shy she was sorry . I just adopted Emma. Her previous owners just plain sucked. They got a new dog and started to neglect Emma. (If you're gonna own animals don't neglect them. You wouldn't do it to a child so don't do it to a animal) Her lower half was covered in matts. I looked all over yelp for a perfect groomer and found it with Waggs-N-Whiskers. Emma came out looking like a million bucks. They also gave her a American flag bandanna. She's been rocking it. They told me it would be about a hour and half, and they were right on time. Emma did real well and wasn't stressed out when I picked her up. All matts were out and she smelt great. Her fur feels like silk! It's a real small shop, but that doesn't stop them. Prices rock!! You usually don't wait at the shop for your pet to be groomed. They will call you when done. The thing I love is how they treat your pet. You can tell they love animals and love what they do. Recently moved to Lakewood and came across this gem. So glad that we did! Communication up front was great and they were able to get our 2 boys in the next day... score! Even though our dogs were a bit... chatty with their crate-neighbor (creating a very stressful environment for everyone, especially Mama) on drop off- it was fast and they didn't make me feel bad about it at ALL. Thank you for that because poor poochie behavior is quite embarrassing and I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who has had the "I swear they're not like this at home" flash moment! As promised, they were ready to go when we arrived at 4, tails wagging & bandanas flowing. LOVE the cologne they use- it's definitely getting them extra cuddles and attention. My schedule is crazy and after trying and failing to get my dog into our usual ok groomer I thought I would give this place a try. I was able to get an appointment in less than two hours from calling. I explained my dog's sensitive skin and the smell issues we have because of stinky shampoos. My dog smells and looks great plus he's not itchy or irritated. He seems happy. I highly recommend this groomer. She even offered to shave him next time for a reasonable fee since he sheds so much. Most groomers don't care enough to even offer options. The prices are very, very reasonable too! P.S. don't forget to tip your groomer! read more

We adopted an older cat from the APL last October. The linger we lived with her the more her fur grew out. We combed and brushed often but she still got knots in her fur, particularly done he stomach. We blamed this on her sloppy water drinking skills. As we had never been to a pet groomer before (none of our other cats ever needed it) we were probably as nervous as Maisy was (just not as loud). There was no need for the nervousness, they answered our questions and let us know what to expect. We dropped Maisy off and were called a short while later to pick up our freshly cut cat. Years ago when someone asked I swore I would never give any cat of mine a lion cut. But they convinced me Maisy needed it, and they were right. Maisy is a much happier cat today than she was yesterday and they took great care of her. We will be heading back when Maiay's fur grows out again. read more

Disgusting shop. Her cages are not safe for animals that come into the shop. She reuses dirty towels. She'll literally line dry them then use them on the next animals. No concern for COVID. The tub is sitting on a moldy decaying floor. Never any water in the cages for animals even tho she'll have the animals in the cages for 4 HOURS! There is no cooling in her shop during summer months. Her shop cats Gabby & Bridget living conditions are disturbing. Unchanged litter & its right next to the water bowl & food in a moldy basement. Nearly my entire experience with this groomer was wonderful. I spoke with Julie to schedule my appointment and she was so flexible with scheduling and understanding of the fact that my cat is anxious during grooming and doctor visit. She even offered to let me stay with her, if it would make me and my kitty feel better. The appointment was done as a drop off which was so convenient. The basic package includes a bath, brush, blow dry, nail trim, and a cute bandanna starting at a very reasonable $40. It was just what we needed. It only took them about 45 minutes to finish and my kitty came home smelling and looking so much better. It was the least stressful trip to the groomer ever. The only thing I don't like about this location is the lack of designated parking. Your options are either metered parking on Madison Avenue, or parking on the residential side streets. I know this might be somewhat out of their control, but walking any amount of distance with a cat carrier on an icy sidewalk is a challenge. We will definitely be back! read more

We used to have a geriatric calico cat, Carmel. Carmel's first owner was a single gentleman who was addicted to heroin. He overdosed and died in 2001, at which time, Carmel was handed off to my daughter, but unfortunately, her cats did not accept Carmel, so a very skittish Carmel arrived in our house in Westlake. Although it was a very slow process, Carmel eventually grew to love and accept us. We took her twice to Waggs N Whiskers.We were very pleased with both the price and the handling of Carmel. Unfortunately, Carmel passed away early this month at the age of 19 years, after battling thyroid issues for the past year. My son and his girlfriend, however, have two cats, both of whom are in need of grooming. We plan on paying for these precious kitties to be groomed. One is a mere kitten, and the other a full-grown male kitty. I love Waggs-N-Whiskers! They have earned our family's business. read more

I was able to get baths and lion cuts for my two long-haired guys and a groom and bath for my girl with short hair and a thick undercoat. Each kitty got a cute bandanna too. We will definitely use again for any grooming needs when I visit in this area! (One thing to note: this is a small shop and the dog and cat customers are in close quarters, so if your cat is very nervous of dogs, as some are, you may want to let the shop know that and/or schedule a special time. I had a great experience! I called in the morning and the groomer was able to get me in the same day! My cat had been shedding a lot so we decided to get a lion cut for the first time. I worked at a vet clinic before and I know that cats have thin skin and can be cut easily but the groomer did a great job and did not cut my cat at all. Best of all...it only took about an hour. The price was also great $40 without bath. I do not have high standards for grooms but I was happy with the cut. read more

Excellent job on my 110 lb. Goldendoodle. He is almost 12 years old and they worked gently with him despite the several matted areas in his fur. When we pulled up he didn't want to get out of the car so they helped encourage him out... Eventually with a treat. Although it took at least fifteen to twenty minutes, and we were therefore pretty late, they were so patient. Within an hour and a half he was done (and he is much happier with his new hairdo)! read more

I so appreciated my experience here!! Becky groomed both of my small dogs (a shitzu/bichon and a Pom/papillion mix) and did an absolutely phenomenal job. She executed a lion cut beautifully and my shitzu looks so cute!!!! Scheduling was a breeze and my dogs seemed super happy afterwords (and so was I).
