Honestly you get what you pay for, half of the price of a normal haircut, and worst haircut I've ever gotten... choppy, no proper layers (you can literally see different chunks of hairs with different lengths) and the ends are cut super blunt. My hair looks blocky lol. Didn't wash my hair or even cut my bangs, saying that they were "good enough." Would not recommend to other girls, please just go to a proper salon and spend that $$! read more

Previous to CoVid she added highlights and toners to make the transition from colored hair to naturally gray hair and it worked ! The amazing thing is her hair cuts are as good if not better. It's Sunday and I'm needing a haircut and happened to see a sign on the sidewalk the shop is open. So I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad that I did. Nancy is the sole proprietor of this small hair salon and it is kept meticulously clean and orderly. Since it's a Sunday, I was seated right away and after asking me how I would like my hair cut, she got to work right away on my overgrown mop. With a professional efficiency, she trimmed the sides quickly and then worked on the styling. In 15 minutes I was cleaned up and looking mighty dapper. COVID COVID Era Update: Nancy continues to do a great job during the pandemic. I have been going regularly except for periods when businesses were mandated closed due to COVID. Nancy disinfects the chairs thoroughly after every cut and wears her mask at all times, plus uses the hand gel without fail on each visit, before and after each customer. I was looking for a place to get a haircut closer to my home in San Mateo. My regular salon is in San Francisco so I've been looking for a more conveniently located salon. Based on Yelp and Nextdoor recommendations, I decided to try Nancy. I will never go there again. I brought my mother with me for a haircut, too, so Nancy had the opportunity to add 2 new regular clients if we had been happy. For a lower priced haircut, my expectations aren't too high, but this experience was ridiculous. Nancy didn't ask either of us if we wanted our hair shampooed, so we passed on that - it costs extra. I assumed she knew what she was doing with a dry cut. She was finished in less than 15 minutes for each of us and didn't style our hair in any way. Neither of us is happy with the haircut we received. It was $30 each - no shampoo, no style and bad cuts. One side of my hair is slightly shorter than the other. I considered stopping by again to get it fixed, but decided that my mask will cover the problem until my hair grows out to get another cut by my usual guy. He always washes and styles my hair. When I leave his salon, I feel good about the cut. It costs $35. When I left Nancy's I didn't feel good at all and my mother didn't like her cut either. Terrible. Her place is very clean and I saw her give a little boy a haircut and she did a good job. Good for him, but bad experience for us. read more

Nancy needs to learn to have better business etiquette; gratuity is entirely the full discretion of customers, not hers nor anybody else. If Nancy reminds and expects substantial amount of gratuity consistently, perhaps opening her own store & becoming the sole store owner may not be a good move because it becomes an option afterwards.
