I made an appointment to get a hair twist done. The manager told me it is possible and it can be done in 2 hours. When I got to the salon, the stylist didnt know about my appointment and thenone didn't speak any English. She told me, i cannot get the twist done. And when we proceeded with the brades, she could not understand at all what my request was. She made the style after her own mindset and couldn't make any adjustments to her plan. I didnt get the style I wanted at all and left disappointed. It is not the stylist fault. She worked hard and tried her best. The manager shouldn't have been there to translate and make sure she will complete the desired style. I had tonpay 120 and tip. I wish the brakes were melted the same day. First of all, I do not like giving bad reviews to anyone especially women run companies. However, I went to the salon to get 2 simple cornrows on each side and cornrows in the back. The braider who did my hair did not speak English and perhaps was new. She could not comprehend what I wanted. She repeatedly started a braid, unbraided it and did it again. She seemed perplexed during the entire process (did not add enough gel, did not sew the braids down etc.). What should have taken her no more than 45 minutes (I have a small head), took her almost 2 hours. When I returned home, not only were the braids in the front done wrong but the entire middle part was not straight. Unfortunately I had to remove the braids, thus essentially waisting my money on the service. The next morning I returned to the salon to show the owner. She notified me I would receive no refund. I agree with a previous reviewer that said, they should not have braiders who are "in-training" doing hair without acknowledging that to the customer. My suggestion is to do better. Customer service and customer retention will be key especially as we face recession. Dismissing customer concerns and effortlessly announcing, "no refund" is not a good thing. I have been going to this salon for several years now. I bring my mom to the salon to get her hair done as well. The salon is clean and maintains a professional decor. My stylist (Favour) gives me the best haircuts. Hairwashing is done with an invigorating head massage. We get relaxers and have always had a very favorable experience at the salon. When you are in Favour's chair she makes you feel like you are her only client. I love that!!! I never get the feeling like she is rushing to complete my hair. She takes the time to listen to what you want done. This salon is hands down the best salon I've been to in this region. I would highly recommend it to friends and family. read more

This is my second time going to this hair braiding place and i wouldn't recommend this. For this reason I'm just coming out of surgery i got my hair done last Tuesday because i didn't want to worry about it while Recovering from surgery. So i called the own and was telling her how my hair is coming a loose so she was admitted about me coming in today so that she can do it over. So i told her my situation was and that i was in pain from having surgery. And it was like I'm talking to a wall. If someone had surgery let's then twenty four hours who's going to be driving which i couldn't or why would i be worried about my hair. People really need to get there priorities in order everything isn't about money. The work is sloppy and not neat at all the braid was unevenly parted she use so much gel its just a mess work. I went to this salon about a week ago and I was very happy with my hair style. I got box braids and there were two stylist working on my hair. Let me tell you, these women were quick and skilled!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I had an appointment at 1pm for just basic cornrows to later self-install crochet braids. I walked in at 1pm and saw all stylists were occupied. It was clear that they wouldn't be done anytime soon. I was never greeted, instead just stared at for a good two minutes. I finally said "I have a 1pm appt." I was instructed to sit down and that someone would be with me shortly. I waited for more than an hour without any updates and finally, the main stylist who I'm assuming is the owner, was finally done with her client. I was expecting she would take me, or the girl sitting next to me (who also waited over an hour) next. But no...she proceeded to leisurely sweep the entire salon and go in the back to do who knows what. This proceeded for about ten minutes until finally I asked "should I sit in your chair now?" She replied "No, I'm not taking you, someone else is." I responded, "But you're free and I've been waiting over an hour; my appt was at 1pm." She explained that another stylist would be taking care of me and that "I needed to be patient." ....what a professional response. I walked out and will never walk in here again. Local salons that operate in this manner never last long. I give it six months or less before they go out of business. read more

I went to this location twice in two weeks for a simple silk wrap and I can honestly say I will not be coming back. The first time I arrived was on a Friday night in which I called prior to arriving to see if they had openings. I was informed they were able to fit me in the schedule so I showed up and this is where things get a little shaky. The girl that was charged with washing and blow drying my hair was friendly however it seemed as if she had a slight attitude about still being at work. The stylist who ended up doing my hair half way into the style was demoted and the owner took over completing my silk press. Prior to the owner taking over the task of completing my hair she kept criticizing the stylist for not flat ironing my hair with the correct products and styling it properly. The stylist was moving so slow the owner finally stepped in and took over.The silk press lasted all of maybe two days and yes I did wrap it and keep up the basic maintenance. Given the fact the style only lasted for a few days I decided to come back the following week one more time. I made an appointment returned to the shop only to find the lady's looking at me and trying to talk me into getting braids. I politely declined and said I wanted to get my hair done and pressed when it was all said and done the stylist tried to charge me 60 bucks for flat ironing my hair. I quietly told the stylist while my hair was nice now I should inquire with the owner because 60 bucks seems a little to pricey given the fact I had to come back in less than a week. The owner told her to charge me 50 bucks and I was on my way. This salon does not respect your time and you will be left sitting for long periods of time without little acknowledgement as to where you fit in. read more

My sister introduced me to Style Plus and I must say I have found my permanent hair salon! The owner Favor is such a gentle soul and really respects your time. I have been there three times and each time, my hair was started right away, and she focused on my hair without interruptions. They have an online appointment system which is so easy to use and they also follow up with reminders prior to the appointment. Her salon is also always kept so clean. Favor takes her time with my hair during every single visit and I must add that she also sells amazing hair products that I have been using and love! One thing that stood out to me during my recent visit is she had an emergency and called me ahead to reschedule. My new appointment time was late in the evening after what was a long day for her however, the quality of her service was not affected, it was consistently superb! She did my hair like I was her first client of the day and I left very satisfied as usual. I have and will continue to refer Style Plus to friends and family! read more

I got box braids from here twice. The first time was fine but the second time I came in and I stated that I wanted the exact same thing which somehow confused them, because that's not what I came out with. I made sure that I asked for the same person to do it the second time that had done it the first so that I would have the EXACT same thing; on top of that I walked in with my hair done how it was last time so there would be no confusion as to how I wanted it. Not only did the process take 9 hours as opposed to the original 5 and a half that it took, but the stylist took several breaks to attend to personal business with no regard for my time. At the end my braids were 6 inches shorter than they were originally. When I asked the person that did my hair if I could come back the next day to get them done the way I wanted to, her boss yells that it is my fault for not communicating the way that I wanted it to be done. I was then forced to pay twice as much as I did the original time for half the length. Save your time, energy and especially your money and do not come here. The staff are very unhelpful and unresponsive to the customer and the manager is rude and disrespectful. Needless to say they did not receive a tip from me. read more
